JJ’s Trout and about cabin is nestled in the hills minutes from the Cumberland River and Cordell Hull. The cabin has the traditional look but with a twist of modern spice. Around this adorable cabin there are lots of adventurous places for you and your family to enjoy like hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming, and so much more! *Newly renovated*

The space
The cabin is rustic with modern touches. We offer high speed WiFi, Roku TV in the main area, all in one laundry center, and a new heating and cooling unit. From the beautiful sunsets to the views of the mountains the cabin has a perfect place for you to sit outside on the porch and enjoy your morning coffee. Its also nice to leave the phone behind and enjoy this hidden little gem. We recently renovated the upstairs loft, added new flooring and carpet and a beautiful new sturdy ladder to get to the loft!! I will be posting pics soon! Can’t wait to host you!!

Neighborhood highlights

While staying at our cabin, the fun, adventures, and dining are endless. Jackson County is a sportsman’s paradise. We are also very close to historic Granville, TN which is famous for their festivals and Granville Marina and Resort. We are also blessed with local restaurants from fine dining to family style meals to eating lakeside.

Our cabin overlooks Flynn’s Creek, which is part of the Cordell Hull Reservoir. The upper part of Flynn’s Creek is stocked with rainbow trout three times a year. There are many spots to pull over by the creek to fish. The Flynn’s creek boat ramp is a mile from the cabin where you can put your boat in or fish from the dock or bring a chair and fish lakeside. The Cordell Hull lake is surrounded by Army Corp land which is open to nonresident hunting. The lake also has many campgrounds with public beaches and playgrounds.

We have a saying up here “It’s always Saturday here in the Lick”. There is always something fun to do. Historic Granville, right road, has festivals, car shows, museums, and the old Sutton General Store. The Sutton store offers hand dipped ice cream and a family style dinner and live bluegrass on Saturday nights. There are also fine waterfalls you can hike to nearby and short day trips to caverns like mammoth cave.

We have several favorite places we like to eat. Gainesboro is home to the Bull and Thistle Pub and The Stolen Coin Oyster bar and grill. The Bull is relaxed finer dining pub with an unforgettable experience. Top notch musicians preform Friday and Saturday nights. The Stolen Coin is a new favorite with the freshest fish and oyster brought in weekly and Chef Pete is always coming up with something new and exciting. Fayes Cafe is excellent for breakfast and we have a new restaurant in town named Casa Grande. Another favorite is Wildwood Resort and Marina with their lake side dining and sunsets! The marina also rents boats and kayaks to get you out on the water before a delicious meal and full bar.

There are so many things to do around here and we will be happy to answer any questions or make recommendations! Come have some fun!
