Stunning Seaview Studio- Riviera

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Boulevard Bellevue, Saint-Raphaël, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 83700, France

The Space

Spacious, light-filled studio contains all you will need for a carefree vacation in the south of France. The ever-changing Mediterranean monopolizes your view and soothes the soul. The wine doesn't hurt either! Plenty of parking, walking distance to many beaches, small grocery store, about 6 restaurants, local buses and the train station. Sensational hiking in the adjacent Esterel hills. Air-conditioned and heated for year-round comfort. We are in a hilly, residential neighbourhood with stunning views everywhere: around that corner, the snow-capped Alps; down that slope the villas of the mega-rich; over there, a ferry? No, it's a super-yacht. The majestic red rock hills provide views as far as St.Tropez and Cap d'Antibes on a clear day. Or, you can explore the rocky inlets in a sea-kayak rented at the local beach. It's all good.
And after all that exertion, the huge walk-in shower with rainhead is just what the doctor ordered, with warm towels from the heated towel bar. Aperitifs and nibbles on your own terrace, watching the sailboats and fishing boats do their thing, while listening to the cicadas or your own music using the IPod/IPhone port on the clock radio provided. Keep in touch with home with wifi and free phone to landlines in most places. Small safe in the closet.
Truly a little piece of heaven. A lovely drive to St. Tropez and wine country to the west or inland to interior Provence-Aix en Provence, Cassis, Nimes, Arles, Mougins, Vallauris, St.Paul de Vence. Nice and Monaco are an easy drive to the east and Italy is an hour away. This is the Riviera 'as it used to be'- quiet, yet very close to the glitz of Cannes and St. Tropez, if that is your thing. Golf is nearby- many courses within 30 min drive. And wineries, of course, abound.
It is preferable to have a car while vacationing here in the south of France- you can go where you want, when you want. The local train station is a 15 min walk away, the buses and store about a 10 min. walk. Our neighbours are about 50% french who live here year-round, 50% vacation homes.
For 6 months of the year, we are here to provide information and guidance, if requested. Otherwise, we have compiled a tome filled with loads of information/how to's...Please get in touch (email is easiest) if you have any questions. The studio is smoke- and pet-free. Check out the photo albums on f_______ page: Trayas Esterel (sorry, not allowed to mention the site, but you know what it is!)
Once you press 'book it', we will hopefully be able to connect by phone/email to learn more about each other. This helps make sure this is the right spot for your plans this trip and makes each of us more comfortable with these 'virtual' dealings. I hope to hear from you soon.
This really is a little piece of paradise! A bientot.

Guest Access

Studio apartment complete with linens, towels, dishes, basic foodstuffs....lots of maps and area info.
Your very own terrace/balcony.
Parking for one car on the gated property, on the flat driveway.
Sorry- The garden is private and belongs to the main house.

Interaction with Guests

When we are in France (6 mos of the year) we are at the house to welcome our guests and then we are as available as much as wanted by the guests for info and advice. We will often have aperitifs with our guests and share tales...

The Neighborhood

'The Riviera as it used to be' is how our french neighbours describe Le Trayas. First and foremost, there is the view- incredible and everywhere. There are the amazing red rock hills (The Esterel) for hiking and yet more views, the walking trails, the beaches...And then there is the quiet and the winding coast road with stunning vistas at every turn. Heaven!

Getting around

There are two buses (one in each direction) from a stop that is a 10'ish minute walk down the hill. The train station is a 15'ish minute walk down a different hill. Travelling by car is definitely more convenient, although we travelled exclusively by public transport our first couple of years!

  • We had a great stay at Richards place. Both Richard and Karin where very kind and attentive. The view of this place is awesome, the studio was VERY clean and well located. We enjoyed the beaches in Theoule sur Mer (10 min drive), ST Tropez (1 hour drive) and Cannes (30 min drive). The quietness and serenity we found here. I recommend this location to everyone!

    Response from Richard:

Thank you for your kind words, Nils. We are happy that you enjoyed yourselves here, in our little piece of paradise- 'the Riviera as it used to be', according to the locals...

  • Incredible views of Miramar and the mediterranean sea. Fantastic place to stay if you want some REAL rest and relaxation away from the bustle of the bigger cities, but still in driving distance to Cannes, St Tropez, St Maxime and Monaco (all within a distance of an hour driving). Both Richard and Karin provided all the information needed for our stay in full detail and were extremely attentive, helpful and made every effort to accomodate us. I highly recommend this place and will certainly come back.

  • Staying at Richard's studio was absolutely amazing! The apartment has been beautifully renovated, the view is spectacular, and Richard and his wife are such great hosts. They are super helpful with tips on the area, and are very well organized with a guide folder they put together for guests! You have everything you'll need in the studio to cook and even beach stuff. The area isn't far from Cannes, and has a more comfortable relaxed feeling. I would recommend renting a car to explore all of the neighboring beaches and towns.

Overall, it was an incredible vacation and I would recommend their place to anyone!

About
"Welcome to our home! I will make sure that you feel comfortable and have a wonderful stay in the South of France. My wife and I are semi-retired and spend about half of the year here. We welcome our visitors and provide as much info/guidance as necessary and aperitifs when we are here. We are available by email or phone (free call from house phone) when we are back in Canada. We love the sea and the constant seaview from every room in the house soothes the soul. The hiking is amazing and there are all levels, from easy walks to strenuous uphills. Beaches and wineries abound. It is easy to while away the hours on the deck, reading, watching the ever-changing vista of the sea and enjoying the delicious bounty of Provence whether it be wine and cheese, or olives and pate...
