Ultra-comfortable Glamping in a hybrid cabin/tent (with AC) = the ultimate getaway to socially distance in style. We've supplied everything you need - paddleboards, kayaks, noodles, life jackets, yard games, an outdoor movie station, fire pit, grill, refrigerator, coffee, hammocks, and more.

Views of the hill country and Lake Travis greet you at every turn.

Lake Travis access - 1 min away. Flat Creek Winery - 10 mins away.

The space
One-of-a-kind, elevated glamping, just 35 mins outside of Austin

The Grand Arrow tent:

Relax in style while enjoying the hill country. Wake up in a comfy, luxurious king-sized bed to a gorgeous view of the lake, have coffee in a hammock overlooking the sweeping views. Air-conditioning is available (halleluja!). Heat via wood-stove is available when it gets chilly. Wooden floors and walls will keep you insulated from the elements, while floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to take in the private lake views, and a zippered tent opening at the front helps to keep in the AC.

Grand Tent Details:
- King bed (our mattresses get rave reviews, don't worry)
- Small queen loft (best for kids age 5+, but adults have been know you stay in the loft, too. )
- Air conditioning
- Mini-fridge
- Coffee station (french press)
- 2 USB charging stations plus 2 outlets
- Propane fire place (winter only)
- Electric blanket (winter only)
- 1 Hammock that can be hung either indoors or outdoors, or moved to other hammock stations around the property to enjoy the views and the breeze.
- Both front and back covered porches
- Outdoor blankets included for outdoor movies

Also available (under a separate listing) is a Mini Tent that's great for kids and adults who don't need all of the space and amenities in a Grand Tent.

The bathroom:
A shared bathhouse includes: 2 outdoor showers and sinks (hot water included), and 1 toilet.

Shared amenities on the property include (subject to availability; we cannot guarantee something won’t be broken right before your stay):
- Fire pit and "cook's station" (grill, refrigerator, microwave picnic tables)
- Movie projector and outdoor screen
- Picnic areas
- Sunrise yoga and meditation spot overlooking the lake
- Ponds
- Small hiking trails
- Yard games (Corn Hole, Can Jam, volleyball, badminton, bocce ball)
- Kayaks and paddle boards are available for you to borrow.

A note about AC:
We have installed very powerful window style AC units. In general, the AC unit can cool 15 degrees off of the outside temp. If the outdoor temp reaches 100 during the peak of the day, it might be 85 in your tent. At night a d in the morning, when the outside air temp cools to the low 70s, your tent can be very cool.

What’s the difference between our 4 tents?

At Talula Mesa we offer 4 glamping tents, each 100 to 300 ft apart for privacy, all with great views of the hill country. Three tents are large (Grand), and one is small (Mini). The 3 Grand tents are nearly identical, with slightly varying decor. The main difference is in the tents’ locations on our property and corresponding view.

- The Grand Aztec: Provides the most open view of the lake and hill country. Located central on the property near the main fire pit and common areas.

- The Grand Arrow: Also has a lake view, but with more trees, less open than the Grand Aztec. Located closer to the entrance of our property, farther from the common areas. A private fire pit and hammock area is just out back (lakeside).

- The Grand Tesoro: Private hill country view across the properties ravine. Located closest to the bathhouse, very central on our property. Also near the common areas. A private chiminea fire area under a grove of trees is nearby.

The Mini Aztec: Located between the Grand Aztec and Grand Arrow tents, with a private view of the lake and hills, and a private chiminea area. For younger children (age 8+) who want to sleep in the mini tent, we recommend the Grand Arrow for the parents because the mini is within view of the Grand Arrow porch.

Hello from Austin, TX! My husband and I are longtime Austin residents (going on 20 years). We are THRILLED to share both our unique home (Seider's East Historic House) and our Glamping sites (Talula Mesa) with you. We are avid adventurers with a home base firmly in Austin. Our home is truly one of a kind in Austin. So much of the city has been torn down for new growth - that's why we adore our quirky historic little (big!) abode on the east side. There is so much to do in Austin. My favorite coffee shop is just around the corner. There are 14 taco restaurants within walking distance and too many restaurants to name. Something new pops up every week. In 2019 we purchased 15 gorgeous, sprawling, peaceful acres in the Texas hill country overlooking Lake Travis, which became home to Talula Mesa Glamping. Talula Mesa offers the best of peaceful camping with a luxurious night's sleep. Come check it out!
