Bright and airy apartment in the best part of Vancouver. Three blocks to Kits beach and a few minutes to downtown. You get the best of both worlds - urban living and a peaceful neighbourhood.
In the heart of the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver ("north of 4th" as the locals say). The apartment is only a few blocks to trendy shops, restaurants, pubs, grocery stores (including a Whole Foods, Safeway and liquor stores) and Kits beach.
Downtown is a short and easy bus, bike or drive over the Burrard Street bridge. The apartment has a spacious living room and cozy bedroom with a treed corner window.
The building is a classic Kitsilano 1950s three-story walk-up. It has original hardwood floors, which are beat up, no outlet in the bathroom, a pink sink, tub and toilet, all of which add charm, but if you're looking for a flashy apartment, this is not the place.
Please note: The building is old and the hallways have old carpet that can smell musty. The apartment, however, is clean yet rough around the edges.
Also note: My bed is also very soft. It is a high-quality bed purchased a few years ago, but if you have problems with soft mattresses it will not be good for you.
The building is pet-friendly so there are dogs in the building. I have a small dog myself, but of course he would not be there when you are there. The place is kept clean of dog hair as much as possible, but it would not be a good place for someone with allergies.
The location has a Walk Score of 92, which is VERY good, comparable to New York City, meaning almost anything you need is within walking distance.
Parking on the street is free; however, there is a 2 hour time limit Monday-Saturday 9:00-5:00. There is free unlimited street parking 4 blocks away.
I sell furniture so furniture in my apartment will change, but it will always be a warm and cozy place to be!
From West 4th Ave (half block away) take bus #4 or #7 to downtown. About 10 min. Cabs are $10-15 one way to downtown. Or ride a bike in 15 minutes. (bikes can be rented nearby) (Vancouver has lots of bike-friendly lanes)
From West 4th Ave (half block away) take express buses #44 or #84. About a 20min.
From West Broadway St (five short blocks away) take express bus #99 B-Line. About 15 min.
From West 4th Ave (half block away) take bus #84 Express, get off at the Canada Life. Take Canada Line ("Skytrain) to the airport.
TO KITSILANO BEACH
Walk three blocks.
Other Things to Note
The building is old and the hallways have old carpet that can smell musty. The apartment, however, is clean yet rough around the edges.
The bed is a queen size mattress with down feather top.
Treat the place as your own and leave it how you found it.
No smoking inside, and I prefer no shoes in the bedroom and living areas please.
Great location and spacious apartment. Easy access and Bonnie was accommodating.
Overall the apartment and the host were very hospitable. The apartment itself was just as described, save for a few different pieces of furniture, and the neighbourhood was beautiful and friendly. The main street was just steps away and lines with great shops and restaurants. All in all the trip was one of surprising comfort in part due to the comfort of this apartment.
The location near Kits beach is wonderful. Bonnie was very easy to get in touch with. The space is not fancy but it is very comfortable. The bed is great as is the full kitchen and the couches in the living room too.
Best location and comfortable room! It's very close to the sea and the famous Granville Island. I like to walk around everyday.
We arrived at Bonnie's at the prescribed time yet the keys were not in their appropriate location. Called Bonnie, who came by within 15 minutes with keys and let us in her place. The place was almost precisely as Bonnie had stated - older building, deferred maintenance...yet the bed wasn't just soft, it was truly uncomfortable. We struggled to sleep as the middle sagged so badly that the sides were like peaks, which we invariably slid down time and again throughout the nights. Great location, paper thin walls, yet adequate minus the most important feature, the bed. A new bed will breathe new life into this location - a must upgrade to be certain. Without a new bed, I cannot recommend.
Bonnie was prompt, polite, and efficient. Her place was well-located, bright and sunny as promised -- plus very quiet. We were really lucky -- Vancouver was sunny. All of the arrangements with Bonnie went as promised, and both wi-fi and cable TV were excellent. The bed was also warm and comfortable. This is not to say that the flat is new and without flaws. It is far from perfect, the kitchen and bath are average, and the photos are much prettier than the actuality. That said, my son and I were satisfied and don't wish to complain.
Location, location, location! Around the corner from great shops and restaurants and it's fairly close to the beach. The walk along the water from the beach to Granville Island is beautiful!
Bonnie is very honest in her listing about the shortcomings of this apartment. Everything was exactly as expected: clean, but not fancy. The floor is a bit squeaky. Just like in any apartment building like this, you hear the neighbors well, so keep in mind that they can hear you too!
