Staying at the T-Tower Guesthouse was great. Just so people know this is a hostel like experience, in that you get your own room but it is shared washrooms, showers, kitchen and lounge area. Everything was clean and tidy and we never had to wait to use any of the facilities. We had a room that was large enough for 3 adults. The showers and washroom were clean and close to our room. The guesthouse is close to the train station and is in a great location to get to the sites in Tokyo by train. Ichiro was very accommodating and great to talk to. It is true that you need to tidy your room before leaving and have an option to clean your bedding or Ichiro will do so for a small fee.
We had a great time at the guesthouse and will stay there the next time we're in Japan.
The Guesthouse is quite hard to find but it's located near from a station in the yamanote line (JR line) and also not so far from big places as Shinjuku, Shibuya...
Concerning the room is was dirty and very small. We were 3 in a room for 2 peoples. I have sleep on the floor on the thin futon and a small airfrance travelling rug (because no sheet for everyone) during a week my back remember it. The bathroom and the kitchen were dirty also. (The other guests were dirty in the comun places so... it doesn't help)
Clean room in a quiet location not far from the train station, in an interesting area. Facilities were good and quite clean, including showers, kitchen and laundry. This place is designed for long stays, so you might need your own towel, laundry powder etc... Ichiro was a very helpful and friendly host! Thank you.
Its was located near Sinjuku which is a nice place to go. The place was value for money and about 15 to 20 mins walk from the nearby train station.
Big room, considering we are 3 people sleeping a room. It will be good if the pantry and shared bathroom is clean. It have a lot of wet towels inside and lots of mosquitoes.
The washing machine is dusty and the dryer machine doesnt dry the cloths as expected.
Overall i didnt regret staying at Ichiro's place and enjoyed Tokyo as much as we would like to.
The reservation was canceled 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Good spot, it has basically everything you need and just a ten minute walk to Takadanobaba metro station which is conveniently located on a few of the major subway lines, close to the main hub, Shinjuku. Rooms themselves are okay, clean and spartanesque (not much in the way of ammenities). When I first heard about having to wash your bed sheets before leaving, I thought it was an odd policy and one especially irritating for those who had to leave early in the mornings, but that didn't effect me, but then I saw they were pay machines and who knows if the soap lying near the machines is free for use? Or is it the that of the long-term guests? Who knows? But since Ichiro wasn't around in the morning when I wanted to check out and I was forced to wait around a while until his return, he said he'd take care of it. Problem solved! If you want to book something and need Ichiro's help, he will search for you but not until you ask him to physically sit at the computer with you after your arrival. I misunderstood when he said he'd help to book as to mean that he would help take care of securing event tickets ahead of when I got there. Unfortunately, I was mistaken and due to the tight schedule, the events were not possible. Last of the minor annoyances is that the Wifi is only located on the first two floors, and since all of the rooms are found on floors two and above, there is no Wifi in the rooms. They should really indicate this in the posting here on AirBnB.
Very nice place and a good location. Ichiro is a very helpful man.
Thank you for everything!
On the good side : clean, nice apartments and a manager available for all our needs.
On the not so good sides : an insistence from Ichiro to get paid well in advance, as if he was were going to leave without paying.
And also, a problem with washing and drying the bed sheets on the departure day, which may be a problem if you want to leave early.
Not advertised as a student-style hostel, but it is. Stayed in some hostels before, but never such a bad experience: black mold in the room, mildew on the damp sheets & dirt on the floor (after receiving a repeated reminder on the utmost importance of washing sheets & vaccuuming before checkout - looks like the rules don't apply to everyone) and reluctance to change the moldy sheets (but willingness to remind us, again, that we're responsible for washing them in the morning). Agreed upon price was suddenly in question upon arrival - bring extra cash, because who knows how much you'll wind up paying! Met some super nice people living there, but overall the experience was super sketchy and would never return.
