Just one block from Gramercy Park (the only private park in Manhattan) is this unique, antique-furnished, and romantic 325 square foot dream sublet. Centrally located, a few short blocks from most subways, it as quiet as a country oasis.
In the building where George Axelrod wrote "The 7 Year Itch" starring Marilyn Monroe, in the hip (Uma Thurman, Julia Roberts) and historic (Teddy Roosevelt, Edith Wharton) neighborhood of Gramercy Park, a few short blocks from Union Square (Barnes & Noble, the Strand, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Farmer’s Market), Madison Park (Shake Shack, 11 Madison Park), most subway lines, some of the finest restaurants in New York (Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe, Casa Mono, Pure Food & Wine), and, of course, Gramercy Park itself (the only private park in Manhattan), is a unique, antique-furnished, and romantic 325 square foot third-floor studio that acts like a one bedroom, with restored kitchen and bathroom, hard wood floors, tall ceilings, closets, AC, fireplace, a 39-inch HD cable TV (with Roku capability), free wireless, a huge collection of literary classics, towels, linens, china, hairdryer, a full range of cooking and eating utensils, coffee-maker, toaster, filtered water, a Swedish Duxiana king-sized bed with 500 thread count goose down comforter, and the kicker, a 250 square foot terrace -- with barbecue and wrought-iron furniture -- overlooking a traditional Manhattan courtyard. Our host, Jack, gave us extensive information about the particulars of the apartment, the neighborhood, and traveler's tips in general to NYC. These were very helpful for persons not familiar with the city! The apartment was warm and comfortable; it had all we needed and more, in a great neighborhood that was convenient for us. We found it to be clean, quiet and welcoming! The perfect stay! Thanks Jack!
The location is both quiet and quaint. Our experience was excellent and Jack provided more than enough information to us to ensure our time there was fantastic. It was our first time using Airbnb and could not have gone better. Without question, I would stay here again when visiting NYC.
Our host is very kind and careful. We're grateful for the attention and affection with us. Our days in NYC were a sort of dream. The apartment is cozy, comfortable and well maintained. Above, it has the ideal size to us, a quiet and friendly atmosphere. The spot could not be better.
We were so happy to have stayed over for 9 nights.
Thank you very much, Jack!
This was a fantastic place to stay. In the heart of New York, the neighbourhood is quiet, tranquil, yet chic. There are some wonderful restaurants nearby with a really local feel. Jack sent detailed and helpful notes about the apartment. There's obviously a strong community spirit about staying at the apartment - and why not... it was a privilege to stay in such a warm and welcoming environment. The apartment has real character and felt instantly like home for my one week stay - no matter how long and busy the day, it was a refuge to come back and relax in. The apartment is old, but was spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfy, the shower and bath hot and powerful. The TV is large and HD. The heating - in minus 7 degrees outside - was very warm and made for a very cosy feel. The book collection is wonderful - amazing collection of intelligent and intellectual books. Couldn't recommend it more. Would love to come back.
Friendly host, beautiful apartment. A little cold when it got late, but in all fairness it was one of the coldest day of the season though.
My girlfriend and I couldn't stop raving about the supremacy of the location of Jack's small, clean apartment. We were able to get uptown, downtown, west, and east with the utmost ease via the extremely close 14th St/Union Sq subway station. Awesome.
We got there and the place was very clean and ready for our usage. Mainly just used the toaster, but all appliances in the kitchen were in working condition.
Also can't say enough about the bed. Large and comfy. Slept great during our stay.
The bathroom was good. Clean and well stocked. Let the water run in the shower for a little while and you're good to go re: hot water.
Mainly, read Jack's thorough instructions and you shouldn't have any problems. Great place. Great city. Great trip.

I prefer to keep this private. I will reveal all once a reservation is booked. For now, I will say that I am a writer for several American publications.
Going on ten years, I have had hundreds of very satisfied guests from CL, Perfect Places, and now the wonderful Airbnb.
