About This Listing

Just one block from Gramercy Park (the only private park in Manhattan) is this unique, antique-furnished, and romantic 325 square foot dream sublet. Centrally located, a few short blocks from most subways, it as quiet as a country oasis.

Response from Jack:

These two were the worst guests EVER. Moreover, they revealed publicly PRIVATE information, available only to paid guests. The long email is appreciated by most guests, except this horrible couple who COMPLETELY trashed the place. They must have received my negative review in advance somehow because they are taking some kind of perverse revenge here. These people are AWFUL. Their critiques are wholly inaccurate. I don't even want to get into all their inaccuracies, grotesque misrepresentations, and my fun comments taken out of context here. They are being reported to Airbnb.

  • Jack
  • Choshi Restrnt

Reliable, fast, relatively inexpensive, yet eclectic, sushi in the heart of Gramercy Park. A neighborhood standby.
77 Irving Pl New York NY 10003
  • Pure Food and Wine

Pricey raw vegan creations in a decidedly un-raw atmosphere. The desserts are amazing, but not cheap.
54 Irving Pl New York NY 10003
  • Casa Mono

    Mario Batalis popular tapas sensation.
    125 E 17th St New York NY 10003
  • Gramercy Park

NYCs only private park. The environs make for a nice stroll, and feature extraordinary architecture, especially. along the parks west side and at the ornate National Arts Club (15 Gramercy South).
2 Lexington Ave New York NY 10010
  • Irving Plaza Box Office

South a few blocks on Irving Place is Irving Plaza, an excellent 1000-person live music venue, though you have to stand (unless you’ve secured seats in the VIP section upstairs).
17 Irving Pl New York NY 10003
  • Gramercy Tavern

Extraordinary food and service from legendary restauranteur Danny Meyer.
    42 E 20th St New York NY 10003
  • Trader Joes

Whole-Foods-style gourmet goods at a discount.
    138 E 14th St New York NY 10003
  • Shake Shack

The only concession stand in refurbished Madison Square Park, you will have to wait in a long line to sample this Danny Meyer doggie.
11 Madison Ave New York NY 10010
  • Eleven Madison Park

(website hidden) Feel like a master of the Madison Park universe at one of the top 50 Restaurants in the World. Say no more, governor.
11 Madison Ave New York NY 10010
  • Rolf's

Most over-the-top decor is found at Rolfs, a German restaurant on 281 Third Ave., where it looks/feels like Christmas 365 days a year. Airbnb is wrong about address. Its between 21st 22nd on 3rd.
    E 27th St Manhattan NY 10016
  • Madison Square Park

Spiffed up Madison Square Park, at Broadway 23rd, makes for a dignified stroll, and offers the best view of NYCs first skyscraper, the Flatiron Bldg. (routinely photographed by Alfred Steiglitz).
Park Ave S Manhattan NY 10016
  • Les Halles

Where Kitchen Confidential author/TV star Anthony Boudain is executive chef. Airbnb map is again wrong. Cross street for Brasserie Les Halles is 29th. Closer to Gramercy Park than appears on map.
