Newly refurbished Cherry Cottage at the 'The Old Post Office' in beautiful Stanford Bridge is your own space, self sufficient with own front door and garden. Our house is a 200 year old post office complex with old outbuildings, big gardens and ample parking in the rural Teme Valley. Come and discover the hidden gem that is Worcestershire. The River Teme at the bottom of the garden, the rolling hills, lots of local historic towns, great food and a pub next door -what more could you want!

The space
Newly refurbished terraced cottage attached to our home.

Downstairs you have one room which contains a lounge and dinning area, fitted kitchen, microwave, fridge/freezer and wood burning stove. There is also a downstairs WC.

Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms, one King and one twin (we can join up if needed) and a bathroom with full sized bath with shower over.

Outside at the rear we have parking for ample vehicles and a 200 year old barn which we hope in the future will be a leisure space.

At the front we have a large garden which is normally where we hang out with our 4 dogs! We will very shortly section off a patio area to make a private outside space for our guests. You are also welcome to exercise your dogs in the 'orchard' at the bottom of the garden.

Location

Stanford Bridge, England, United Kingdom

Stanford Bridge is a hamlet at the bottom of the Teme Valley close to Great Witley and the famous Shelsley Walsh hill climb.

We are very fortunate to have so much lovely countryside around us - rolling hills surround us and the river Teme is across the road from our house. As you drive towards you will see the Clee Hills in the distance which are stunning in all weathers.

Next door is The Bridge Hotel which is great for a pint and a chat. Across the Bridge we have a farm complex that contains a farm shop, butchers, garden centre, hairdressers and several gift shops. There is also a great cafe we would recommend for a cooked breakfast.

Within a 15-20 minute drive you can be in Tenbury Wells for boutique shops and a supermarket or Bewdley for pubs and restaurants, Steam Railway and West Midlands Safari Park. Or for a different day out try Stourport with its year round amusement park, river walks and historic inland docs.

20-30 minutes will get you to the city of Worcester with endless things to do and see, or our favorite, historic Ludlow with all its food shops and the weekly Markets. The Malvern Hills, Bromyard and Kidderminster are also within 30 minutes.

We moved to the area in June 2020, we love that our corner of Worcestershire is equally relaxed and vibrant with a great community. ideas below of activities that take place locally;

The River Teme next to us is used by lots of the community for picnics, wild swimming and kayaking.

The locals roads are always full of endurance cyclists, and mountain biking would be fun at Menithwood or Far Forest

For families Far Forest which is a Forestry Commission centre has varying varieties ofa go trails for walkers, bikes a Go Ape centre.

For fisherman (we have one of our own at the house) there are lots of local day ticket pools, stretches of the Teme and the Severn.

There are acres of ancient woodlands and walks within a 10 minute drive.
We have not yet run out of places to explore with our dogs - Shrawley is our favourite with a deserved pint in the New Inn at the end!
