The tower house is situated on the main street of high city, the historic center of Bergamo. Near the funicular station that connects the two parts of the city. The two bedrooms available for guests are located on the fifth floor (no elevator) of the sixteenth-century tower and enjoy both a wide panoramic view of the city and mountains.
The guest's bathroom is down a flight of interior stair because the bedrooms are in the last floor.

B&B La Torre della Meridiana

Right in the heart of Città Alta (Old City, Old Upper Town), historic center of Bergamo, of an unique beauty, close to the wonderful Piazza Vecchia, our B&B offers 2 bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom on the 4th and 5th floor (without elevator) of an ancient tower house, furnished with antique furniture. The position on the main street that runs through the heart of the historic old town is perfect for exploring the ancient city, living it from within but also to reach the “lower” (modern) city in just two minutes with the characteristic funicular railway, from which you can get to the train station and Orio al Serio international airport with bus number 1.
Please recall that there is no elevator, and the rooms are located on the last (5th) floor of the Tower, accessible only by stairways, but directly from the rooms you will be rewarded with an incomparable view of the ancient city, the surrounding mountains and the lower city!

The price includes:
- Italian breakfast
- Bed-linel, body-linen
- 2€ tourist tax/person
- Wi-Fi

Interaction with guests

Our is a real home, not a hotel. Our family lives in the tower for many generations, and her history is present in everything that you can see. Furniture, paintings and furnishings are the decoration of the family history.
We like to share with our guests our history

Other things to note

The guest's bathroom is down a flight of interior stair because the bedrooms are in the last floor.

Our stay at Marco and Lorenzo's was a wonderful Italian experience. Their apartment is a treasure trove of antiques, spotlessly clean and the hosts go above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome. Their attention to detail included personalised directions and a lovely little surprise in our room after checking in. Highly recommended! We had a fantastic stay!

Marco and Lorenzo's apartment was everything I was looking for during my stay in Bergamo. They were perfect hosts and the location was unbeatable. The apartment was beautiful and exactly as described.

Quite simply an unbelievable place steeped in history with a great host. Marco's place is centrally located in Citta Alta and a seconds away from the restaurants, bars and Piazza Vecchia. He also provides tips on where to go and eat, what to see for the new visitor to Bergamo. I will be back at Marco's place when I next return to Bergamo. Marco, grazie mille.

We enjoyed our stay at Marco' s place after finishing the Camino de Santiago. The house is a living family museum which is quite impressive. Breakfast was very tasty and well displayed each morning. Gracious and discreet host. We certainly would stay here again.

Marco's apartment really gives you the sense of staying in the heart of a medieval town: you will be occupying one of two rooms on the upper floor of the two-level flat from which you can see a panorama with the city roofs and the hills – feels like a tower. The room is perfect for a solo traveler, but a couple should feel quite well there too. The guest bathroom is on the first of two floors, which is slightly inconvenient, but it's well kept and well equipped and you are provided with a whole set of towels. The breakfast is served elegantly. It consisted of cereal, colomba cake, other sweet pastry, jams, hot coffee and milk – overly sweet breakfast to my taste. Marco is a very pleasant host and he provides you with several info brochures which are of excellent quality: one of them is on the local food (all you need to try – at one glance) and the other a brief, but very sophisticated guide to the town, written by one of the professors at the University of Bergamo. All in all, I loved it.

Absolutely AMAZING airbnb. We were blown away by the accommodations and our kind host Marco. The beds were super comfortable and it was wonderful waking up to the sound of church bells ringing down the street while Marco made us breakfast downstairs! It was our last night in Bergamo and we will most definitely return to this charming and one of a kind airbnb. It felt like we were sleeping in a history museum. So much reading material to read through and Marco is a wealth of knowledge. Perhaps the best airbnb we have ever stayed in.
