The Space

So much more than a private room! The bedroom is located in the garden level of our home with its own separate entrance and a private full bathroom! The room comes with a flat screen TV w/cable (Sho-time and HBO), Wi-Fi, microwave, toaster, and mini fridge (There is NO kitchen- no stove, oven or sink. Think of it more as a hotel room). You will have a very nice, clean room, comfortable bed, and, of course, clean sheets and towels!

Enjoy being in the heart of Cambridge! This Central Square house is located 5 walking minutes from the Red Line and many bus lines. Easy access to Harvard, MIT, BU, Downtown Boston, Mass. General Hospital, TD Garden (for all concerts, hockey, and basketball games!), and Fenway Park!

In the neighborhood you will find a Star Market, two Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, a grocery Coop, countless independent coffee shops, book stores, and restaurants. Shopping is just a short distance to Harvard Square, Newbury Street or Copley Mall. We are also only 4 blocks away from The Middle East restaurant and concert venue.

If you need parking, just let us know in advance. Parking in Boston and Cambridge is not easy, so we definitely need to have a heads up! We have a visitor pass for any stays 3 days or less, so that is super easy, but over three days requires approval from the city of Cambridge. Or you can park in the garage up the street.

If it's your first time to Boston, we would be more than happy to help you navigate your way!

We do have two dogs who live upstairs. They do not go downstairs, however, so you can be confident of that!

Please take note of a the check in and check out times. We would love to be flexible, but we have to know in advance your desired times. We can't accommodate them always, but would love to try! We just too often have guests arriving the same day as guests are leaving.

The most common question we get is "what's the internet password?" It's in the house manual, so you don't have to wait for me to answer you to get online :)

Also, I try to contact everyone days before they arrive about keys and precise directions But we have guests coming and going almost every day, so please try your best to contact me for this information. Particularly if you are an international traveler, because calling costs are expensive!

Please read the House Manual once your reservation is complete. It contains instructions on getting the key and specific directions to the room since you do NOT access the room through my home; it has a separate entrance.

I know there is A LOT of info, but it's a house not a hotel :) Please try to read through it all, because it is really all important info to make your stay and travel experience go as smooth as possible.

Enjoy a huge, clean, private room with its own entrance and private bathroom. Unbeatable location. Cable TV, WiFi, coffee maker, electric kettle, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven.

I rarely meet the guests, as their room and bathroom is on a different level than my regular living quarters. I always inform the guests if I do have to enter "their rented space" (sometimes i need something from the storage room), but mostly, unless a guest would like to meet me, i allow them to enjoy their time and space privately. I am always home upstairs; however, in case they need anything (and because I live there :) ).

It's very quiet, but only a 5 minute walk from everything you could need in Central Square. The convenience is unbeatable. We are located next to one of Cambridge's public gardens, and in the summer time it is absolutely beautiful.

The Red Line, Boston's best subway line, is only a 5 minute walk away. The #1 Bus is also only a 5 minute walk away, and the #47 bus, which takes you down by Fenway Park, stops only a one minute walk away!

  • I stayed with Kristina and Claudia for 2 nights while holidaying in Boston. The location of their rental is fantastic - very easy to find via public transport from downtown, a pleasant walk away from Harvard or MIT, and steps from the centre of beautiful Cambridge. Theirs is a beautiful neighbourhood with plenty of green spaces, cafes, food markets and interesting shops - I could have spent my whole trip exploring just this area! There is a little laundry nearby if you need it, a pharmacy and a Wholefoods for supplies. I loved walking past the little kitchen garden next door each morning - so beautiful in summer! I also enjoyed walking from the apartment through MIT across Harvard Bridge to Newbury Street - then onwards to Boston Common and the Freedom Trail.

I found the bedroom spacious, very clean, quiet and nice and cool with everything I needed for a comfortable stay - including a kitchenette, which was very handy for making an easy breakfast each morning. The bathroom was also great. Check in and out were a breeze, and my whole stay ran like clockwork. A very positive Airbnb experience - thank you so much for hosting me!

  • Kristina was a very accommodating host. The room was spacious, light and airy and included lots of handy extras (the umbrellas especially came in handy). The location was very convenient and the neighbourhood felt lively and safe. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Super chambre, très propre et le lit très confortable et une super organisation pour récupérer les clés, le parking etc... Quartier calme et proximité bars sympas. Kristina nous a même permis d'éviter une fourrière en étant très réactive bref, top.

Great room! Very clean with a very comfy bed. Great organisation to get the keys, park the car etc... Quiet neighborhood near pub and shops.
Thanks to Kristina's awarness, she managed to not having our car towed! Top top top!! That´s a perfect.

  • Kristina is an excellent host. The space — a nicely finished daylight basement — is exactly as pictured, and the location is only a couple minutes' walk from Central Square, which has lots of good food and retail as well as a T stop for the Red Line. If you're a walker (like me), it's also not too far from either MIT or Harvard.

  • Great property which was exactly as pictured and described. Everything was straight forward and if I needed to contact Kristina about anything via email she replied asap. Location was great. Only a two minute walk to the subway, shops etc and close to numerous bikeshare locations. Wifi was fast and reliable which is better than I can say for some of the 5 star big name hotels we stayed in along the way.
