So much more than a private room! The bedroom is located in the garden level of our home with its own separate entrance and a private full bathroom! The room comes with a flat screen TV w/cable (Sho-time and HBO), Wi-Fi, microwave, toaster, and mini fridge (There is NO kitchen- no stove, oven or sink. Think of it more as a hotel room). You will have a very nice, clean room, comfortable bed, and, of course, clean sheets and towels!
Enjoy being in the heart of Cambridge! This Central Square house is located 5 walking minutes from the Red Line and many bus lines. Easy access to Harvard, MIT, BU, Downtown Boston, Mass. General Hospital, TD Garden (for all concerts, hockey, and basketball games!), and Fenway Park!
In the neighborhood you will find a Star Market, two Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, a grocery Coop, countless independent coffee shops, book stores, and restaurants. Shopping is just a short distance to Harvard Square, Newbury Street or Copley Mall. We are also only 4 blocks away from The Middle East restaurant and concert venue.
If you need parking, just let us know in advance. Parking in Boston and Cambridge is not easy, so we definitely need to have a heads up! We have a visitor pass for any stays 3 days or less, so that is super easy, but over three days requires approval from the city of Cambridge. Or you can park in the garage up the street.
If it's your first time to Boston, we would be more than happy to help you navigate your way!
We do have two dogs who live upstairs. They do not go downstairs, however, so you can be confident of that!
Please take note of a the check in and check out times. We would love to be flexible, but we have to know in advance your desired times. We can't accommodate them always, but would love to try! We just too often have guests arriving the same day as guests are leaving.
The most common question we get is "what's the internet password?" It's in the house manual, so you don't have to wait for me to answer you to get online :)
Also, I try to contact everyone days before they arrive about keys and precise directions But we have guests coming and going almost every day, so please try your best to contact me for this information. Particularly if you are an international traveler, because calling costs are expensive!
Please read the House Manual once your reservation is complete. It contains instructions on getting the key and specific directions to the room since you do NOT access the room through my home; it has a separate entrance.
I know there is A LOT of info, but it's a house not a hotel :) Please try to read through it all, because it is really all important info to make your stay and travel experience go as smooth as possible.
Enjoy a huge, clean, private room with its own entrance and private bathroom. Unbeatable location. Cable TV, WiFi, coffee maker, electric kettle, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven.
I rarely meet the guests, as their room and bathroom is on a different level than my regular living quarters. I always inform the guests if I do have to enter "their rented space" (sometimes i need something from the storage room), but mostly, unless a guest would like to meet me, i allow them to enjoy their time and space privately. I am always home upstairs; however, in case they need anything (and because I live there :) ).
It's very quiet, but only a 5 minute walk from everything you could need in Central Square. The convenience is unbeatable. We are located next to one of Cambridge's public gardens, and in the summer time it is absolutely beautiful.
The Red Line, Boston's best subway line, is only a 5 minute walk away. The #1 Bus is also only a 5 minute walk away, and the #47 bus, which takes you down by Fenway Park, stops only a one minute walk away!

This was my first AirBnB experience and it was *awesome*. The space was great, the location even better. I didn't actually get to meet Kristina since my partner and I were out most of the time we were there, but coming "home" to this big warm room and super comfortable bed was the best thing ever after a long conference and a long day of exploring the city. The room was super private, separate entrance, etc. Would absolutely book again.
I stayed for 2 weeks. Booked 3 days before arriving. Response to my request was immediate. The room is unusually large, connected to a private bathroom. Clean, warm (with freezing temperature outside) and cozy. Separate access allows for privacy, although hosts are accessible and very helpfu in everything you need. Would book it again.
Another great stay - and this time, I remembered to ask info about the mattress, so that I could buy the same one for myself! I was especially appreciative to find the place already toasty warm, given the cold temperatures in Cambridge.
Kristina was a lovely host. The location was great. The place was private, clean, and comfortable. We would recommend others to stay here. Thanks for everything.
Our stay in Kristina' s house was quiet and nice. The house has a very good loaction close to subway, Harvard U. and the main street. The room has everything one need to comfortable stay.
Dorota, November 2013
Kristina and her partner are very friendly and helpful.
The room is very spacious and the most hotel-like airbnb room I have ever stayed. There are mini-refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster, water boiler and coffee machine. The room is clean and convenient.
The only small thing bothered us was that there was a party going in a house next to Kristina's during our first night. It was 1130 at night.
Other than that, I am happy about staying at this place. I would definitely recommend this place to you because I will say here if I ever go to Boston again!
The place was great, as always. Clean, comfortable, close...everything you want in Cambridge. Planning many more stays here...
Prefect place to stay while in Boston. Very close to everything.
The apartment was immaculate and very spacious. It was a quiet place to relax at the end of the day.
I didn't meet Kristen but her communication before and instructions meant everything went very smoothly.
Highly reccomend to stay here !
We absolutely loved Kristina's basement room. You feel like you have your own mini flat so it affords you a great level of privacy (private entrance) whilst having the benefit of having someone close to hand to answer any questions. The location of the property is brilliant (half way between Harvard and MIT) and we found that we could walk everywhere, Downtown Boston, the South End etc etc. Most people we met though we were crazy for walking so much but we like walking! The T stop is about 5 mins walk away so it is really easy to get to the airport (and cheap) and anywhere in the city. We didn't meet Kristina in person but communicated with her via email and she was a great host, checking we got into the property ok and asking if we were enjoying our stay. Finally, the room has everything you could need, it is very big, super clean and was great for our week stay. We have other friends visiting Cambridge soon and we will definitely be recommending this place! Thanks Kristina.
Lovely experience in Boston/Cambridge!!!
Kristina is an excellent host!!!!!!!
The apt. was very clean, the location is perfect, close to the Red Line of the subway and very close to bar and restaurants.
Juri & Elisa
