  • The house is HUGE and very close to the beach, making it a great place to stay in Da Nang. Khanh was a great host and helped us alot finding some of the more local resturaunts and getting involved with some of the locals.

  • Although just a 10 minute walk from the convention center, this neighborhood is a bit seedy.

The listing represented the apartment relatively fairly except the shower which is a bit of a disaster. The picture shown must have been taken when new but now the shower head doesn't stay up and water leaks from everywhere except on you.

  • Great host, great place. Khanh really went above and beyond to help us as much as possible when our listing was cancelled at another house by a different user. Without Khanh, we wouldn't have been able to get a rental on such short notice. While I never got to meet him, his assistant Jesse was incredibly professional and punctual in regards to checking us in and out. I couldn't ask for more out of my first AirBNB experience.

The house was beautiful, well maintained, and state of the art. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were clean. No complaints!

  • Khanh's AirBnB is nicely remodeled and convenient to downtown San Jose. As other's have mentioned it's in a transitional area, but the price reflects it and I never felt unsafe. Check-in was smooth, and Khanh's aunt is very friendly and welcoming. The rooster next door was my only complaint, obviously nothing can be done about this, but let's just say I never had to use my alarm clock. Also, A/C was listed as an amenity, but I did not see it any signs of it, could be me though.

  • Khanh was extremely responsive. We had originally booked the Chi house, but the plumbing was broken from the previous visitors. We were then upgraded to the Classic house. The location was central to everything. I wouldn't advise walking around alone at night, but we ended up driving and cabbing everywhere. The house comfortably fit everyone. The outdoor grill was great too. Thank you to Khanh and his aunt for answering all of my questions with extremely fast response times!

  • We needed a place to stay in San Jose for a family wedding, we travel from salt lake city the house was in a good location and it worked fine for what we needed. We were a little disapointed as we walk in the house, they ask you to take your shoes off at the door because is a no shoes house, the laminate floors were just filthy my kids socks were just so dirty at the end off the day it was disgusting also I am not sure how long the house hasn't been use but the smell was bad it just smell like it has been close and not clean at all for a long time,we had to go to the store and buy cleaning supplies and clean the bathrooms because it just didn't seem clean, also no hand soap in the bathrooms. One last thing the front door and back door has no locks so it doesn't really feels safe, we ask the manager about looking the front door and they put batteries in the front door lock which it was kind of no point to it since they know the numbers and the back door doesn't even lock.
After all it was OK, but I which it was a little more clean and feel safer.

  • Unfortunately it smelled really musty and my allergies were pretty bad within 1 hour of staying there. To top it off, the neighbor was blasting mariachi music which despite a white noise maker I had on with my phone, the mariachi music was so loud I could hear it over the white noise.

  • Khanh was out of town, so his aunt, who lives next door, met me at the apartment. They were really great working around my schedule and meeting me as soon I arrived from the airport. The aunt also asked that I let her know if I needed anything or had any issues. I ended up not needing her, but it was great knowing she was nearby. The place was very clean and was very nice. There also was free parking off the street. My stay overall was pleasant, and I would recommend the apartment -- with a few caveats.

A couple things made me uneasy. The neighborhood didn't feel very safe to me. Police were called to the area a couple times while I was there, and I didn't want to be out after dark. I'm glad I didn't look out the kitchen window until the day I left because the backyard next door was essentially a dump yard (I assume that's the home of the rooster I heard crowing every morning?). Also, the door to the apartment didn't use keys for the lock but used a code. There also was no deadbolt or chain lock. It made me wonder if someone could just walk in while I was gone or while I was sleeping. (I know there could be copies of a key floating around, but I don't know if the code is changed between guests). The apartment was nice, and Khanh/his aunt were great, but I would definitely consider the safety factor when booking the place. I was a single woman traveling alone, and I likely wouldn't stay in that area again.

I Stay Here Inc.
I was born and raised in Viet Nam. I came to the US when I was 16. In 1997, I joined the US Marines. I served my first year in Japan and spent the rest of the time at Camp Pendleton. During these 4 years in the service, I traveled quite a bit. I always chose to stay at vacation rentals instead of hotels because I loved to experience the local culture. Being a vacation rental owner, I have had the opportunity to return the favor. I enjoy meeting people coming from all over the world and get to learn many things without leaving my door step. I never knew about an event called "Senior Olympics" until the guests contacted me to rent my homes in San Jose. I was blown away that men and women in their 70s, 80s and 90s would compete in competitive sports. I got to meet film crews, musicians, entrepreneurs and just simply nice folks. To me, managing vacation rentals is a combination of passion and a rewarding life style. I enjoy the day to day challenges just as much as the fun of sharing foods with new guests. I keep on telling myself that I need to record many of the conversations that I have with my guests and put together "a day in the life of a vacation owner". I think I need to do it soon. So hang on tight, a short film will be coming soon.
