Dahlia Bluff Cottage is in the Rolling Bay neighborhood of Bainbridge- close to Bay Hay & Feed, Via Rosa Italian, and Jiffy Mart for quick essentials. It's within walking distance of several beaches and an 8-minute drive to the ferry and downtown Winslow! Are you coming to Seattle for an event or show? Park near the ferry, travel as a foot passenger and return to tranquility and peace on beautiful Bainbridge Island.
Ours is the kitchen of your dreams - first-rate tools and equipment, an up-to-date cookbook collection, and stunning views of Mt Baker and Puget Sound from the sink. You'll be able to do everything: heat pizza, bake pies and cookies, prepare a five-course meal. Use our Kitchenaid mixer or Vitamix blender, roast a turkey, or simmer chili in the slow cooker or Le Creuset Dutch oven while you watch the big game.
We have cable service for sports fans, a smart TV with access to major streaming apps, and super-fast Internet (see validation in the listing).
You'll sleep well here - it is SO quiet, and when the moon shimmers on Puget Sound, it is simply magical. We have fantastic mattresses, high-thread-count cotton percale sheets from Thomas Lee and Brooklinen, barrier coverings on all the beds, and cozy high-end mattress pads and pillow covers. We replace all the linen, including duvet covers, with every stay. We use a professional laundry service for the bed linens.
We are licensed for five overnight adult guests (two in our king bed, one in each of our bunk beds, and one in our super comfy daybed in the office). The Airbnb math lists "5 beds," which means five people in four beds.

Dahlia Bluff Cottage is ideal for couples, individuals, and small families with older kiddos. School age kids and teens love the downstairs - with built-in bunks and a family room with TV, games, and toys.
Dahlia Bluff may not be perfect for toddlers and tiny kids. We have white rugs, nice furnishings and decor, and a steep staircase, and the house is situated on a cliff with limited fencing. Many little children do well here, but it may require extra parental watching. Please get in touch with us if you have questions or need more specific information.
This is not a party house, and if large groups show up, or or more guests for the 5 for which we are licensed, we'll contact Airbnb and will ask you to leave.
This has only happened twice; our guests are the best of the best!!

And - a little more about the house:
This is a fully updated beach cottage - it's almost 90 years old! It's a gem of a place to spend time, and most people barely want to leave due to the incredible views, great living spaces, and the stylish, peaceful atmosphere.
There are no actual closets (!), and we have provided creative solutions (hanging rack, small dresser, built-in drawer under the king-size bed, hooks, etc.)
When it rains, it's a challenge to get into the house and stay dry in the process, as there is no garage, carport, or overhang on the house, so we recommend standard Pacific Northwest rain gear - raincoats with hoods!
Speaking of PNW weather - Bainbridge Island is a magical tree-filled landscape, which means winter storms can cause power outages due to downed branches and trees. Because of this, we installed a whole-house automatic propane-powered generator. This generator and the battery backup for our modem are intended to keep things running. And one of us is almost always reasonably close by, ready to help should any questions arise with the generator.
Beautiful trees and amazingly diverse birds add to the serenity of the space and the garden. We have professional landscape maintenance, and we make sure the deck and balcony are as clean and clear of debris as possible, but Mother Nature's wind and rain can be hard to keep up with. Those amazing trees also drop pitch/sap on the deck in the summer and pine needles year-round! Guests can use a battery-operated leaf blower if needles fall after we have prepared the cottage for your stay. There is an aluminum bucket with cleaning rags and cleaning solutions if you encounter tree sap, eagle, and osprey poop.
