The flat was very clean and tidy on arrival. It was exactly as pictured, cozy and comfortable. The parks in front and in back were lovely.
The neighborhood around Dieter's flat was busy, yet there was minimal street noise inside.
As also noted by others, the location is very convenient for tube, trains, and walking.
The large "Waitrose" supermarket is nearby for all your food needs.
The exact house where the flat is was a little tricky to find. Be aware that in London, the same long street will have several different names. Look on the side of the buildings for names of streets.
Things you will like:
1. Apartment is clean with minimalist furnishings.
2. Large widows on two walls make the apartment bright even on a cloudy London February day.
3. Two Underground Stations nearby.
4. Great supermarket with all kinds of prepared foods is also near at hand.
5. Initial entry is set up with a lock box so if you and late or early arriving you needn’t worry about meeting your host at a specific time.
6. Drying rack dries clothes very quickly.
7. Nearby restaurants include English Pubs, Italian, Indian and Chinese.
What a nice experience! The flat is great, exactly as described in the announcement. Excellent location right in the heart of Bloomsbury, 5 min away from the British Museum and Russell Square tube station (you can also walk easily to Holborn for the central line). The view from the bedroom window is truly amazing, over the lovely St George's gardens. Besides, the Brunswick centre, just around the corner, caters for every shopping needs you might have.
Even though we weren't able to meet with Dieter, communication with him was very smooth and every need quickly answered. I couldn't recommend this flat more! Absolutely 5 stars!
We had a nice time at the apartment.. It was true to the pictures, clean and located conveniently. Dieter was very helpful and always available. Thanks Dieter!
I highly recommend staying at Dieter's airy modern flat. My husband and I stayed for a week and would have liked to stay longer. Dieter supplied everything you might need: a well stocked kitchen, very clean, light filled rooms and a super comfortable bed.
Other pluses are the lovely, romantic St. George's Garden which you pass through going to and from the Russell Square tube station. The flat is an easy walk to Exmouth Market which has a lot of fun (and good) restaurants.
We had a great visit.
I was very happy staying for three weeks in Dieter's lovely apartment. The flat was exactely as described. The view to St. George's Garden from bedroom was fantastic and I would highly recommend this flat.
Quite simply, Dieter made my trip to London an absolute pleasure!
Cannot thank him enough, amazing apartment & guy to deal with!
Again, Dieter, all my very best, thank you for absolutely everything.
About the Host, Dieter
I'm a German living in London and Zürich, interested in arts and design. I do travel quite a lot but also love the quiet enjoyment of my cozy home the times I spend in London.
When I passed St.Georges garden on my walk to Soho I always looked up to the windows of the Georgian houses facing the park. I envied the people living so central, close to Soho and Covent Garden, but nevertheless in such a green and quiet neighborhood. One day by coincidence I discovered that the flat was sold in an auction, went there and finally got it. The flat was in a a very poor state. I redesigned the lay out, renovated everything from scratch and furnished it with a mix of modern and some few antique objects. Finally brought some of my own sculptures and collected art. The flat is now my true little gem in Central London
