The Borghetto of Peccio Martino is an ancient stone hamlet, situated in the heart of Umbria, surrounded by woods and vineyards. The optimal position on the border with Tuscany, permits to reach easily some of the most beautiful cities of our land: Perugia, Assisi, Città della Pieve, Siena and Montepulciano. The apartment that we offer, with stone and exposed beams, has a double room, a twin room, one bathroom also suitable for disabled people and a full furnished kitchen. In the living room, with a beautiful stone fireplace, there is one double sofa bed. We offer guests bed linen and towels that are replaced weekly. Guests can also enjoy the large garden around the house and use the swimming pool of the structure, whose panoramic position, makes the atmosphere very relaxed and charming. There is ample space to relax in tranquility, drinking a good a glass of wine or a cup of tea, reading a book and converse with other guests.
In Autumn and Winter the heating cost is paid apart
Our farmhouse is near Perugia (20 minutes by car), just 5 minutes from a village where you can find a supermarket, the post office with ATM and a pharmacy. Thus it can be easily reached through the main Italian motorway A1 (Milan - Rome). In 2 hs you can reach Rome or Florence, in 1 h Siena and the famous Val di Chiana in Tuscany. The nearest airport is Perugia Sant' Egidio where there are daily flights from Milan. It's also possible to reach easily Roma Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino airports by the motorway. Perugia has an important train station where there are also some offices to rent a car.
This farmhouse in Umbria was absolutely fantastic. We had a wonderful time here and the accommodations are gorgeous. Anna and her husband Mossimo were very hospitable -- Anna even come to fetch us from the road, as we had a little difficulty finding the compound even with GPS. Mossimo was incredible sweet, supplying us with wood so we could build a fire in the fireplace and helped us get it going. He even brought over some bread and olive oil and we shared a glass of wine with him. The one unexpected thing was we were charged extra for heat during our stay which ran us about 50 euro. I'm not sure if this is disclosed anywhere and I missed it, or if this is common in Europe but I didn't have this in Florence or Rome. Just be sure to budget that into your stay if it is in the winter months. The wi-fi was also very weak from the main house so we weren't able to use the internet. All around though it wonderful and I hope to come back in the summer sometime.
This has to be THE most idyllic place one can stay, with hosts as warm as the Tuscan/Umbria sun!! Magnifent views, home, pool, nature, for a steal of a price! Highly recommended for those wanting off the beaten track experience in luxury!! Don't hesitate and book!
A great experience! The hosts where all kind with us and the swimming pool simply great. Take some time to visit nearby towns and you won't regret the experience in Umbria ;)
My family stayed in one of the apartments for about a week this summer. We truly loved our stay! The pool was large, clean and great for the hot summer days. The classic Umbrian style architecture of the buildings transports you to another time. Yet the kitchen and bathrooms are modern. Everything was very clean and safe and the hosts were very welcoming! Umbria was beautiful and the proximity to Southern Tuscany is convenient. Great place, great value!
great location, property clean, well maintained, fantastic pool area. the lunch that was catered for was amazing, freash local produce, everyone very happy! loads to see and do, restaruants plenty and were all great.
