20 minutes north of town, 1 exit from navitat ropes course!
This sweet cozy cabin sits at the back of 3 acres in north Weaverville. The cabin sits at the bottom of a hill, behind a farmhouse built in 1917. This cabin was built in 1815, but moved to its current location 4 years ago and rebuilt. I reused every part of the original structure that I could. The square nails were saved to relay the living room floor. The ceilings in the bathroom and kitchen used to be the porch roof. The heart pine floor in the loft used to cover the log walls in the main room. The stone chimney was used for the current foundation.
A one bedroom loft upstairs and bathroom with a claw foot tub, this charming cabin offers relaxation and quiet. There is a simple built-in wooden ladder accessing the loft. A large screened in porch gives you complete privacy off the back of the cabin. This cabin comes with a washer and dryer, internet, and cable.
The kitchen offers a full size propane stove/oven and a vintage 1950's refrigerator, as well as a automatic coffee pot and all of the cookware you should need. The cabin is heated with a Jotul woodstove and cooled with portable air conditioner.
The cabin is just 2 miles from I26, on a country road. It is peaceful and beautiful.
Come step back in time.

My wife and I absolutely loved our experience at the cabin! It was the perfect, cozy retreat in a gorgeous setting that we were looking for. I can't recommend it enough! Caroline was so helpful and accommodating, and we can't wait to get back for another weekend sometime soon! We were also able to drop by her doughnut shop on our way out of town, and it was delicious. Thanks again, Caroline!
My husband and I loved staying at the cabin. We love in a 1920's historic house back home in Athens, Ga. We expected the cabin to have some of the same quirks and inconveniences as our home. It had none of those! The cabin felt so nice, clean, and warm- yet it still felt that homey back-in-time feeling. We personally felt right at home and on a get-away all in the same. It got down to 8 degrees while we were there and we were never cold once. I could not take enough photos of the light in the place. We had a great time parading around asheville, but we kept wanting to come back to the cabin early and spend time. Thank you caroline for investing in a place like this- it was a retreat!
Beautiful cabin! What an experience to stay in a piece of history. The cabin was everything we wanted in a cozy getaway and our host was incredibly responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
A truly amazing get away that really isn't that far away for such a great spot. The cabin is so beautiful and extremely cozy. There was snow, rain, sunshine and wind all of these just added to the cabins flare. Everything I needed was there, I found no reason to leave. I didn't even want to when it was time. I would recommend this cabin over and over. I look forward to a revisit in my future.
Thank you again for such a great spot to hid in.
We have had this listing on our airbnb profile as our dream house getaway destination for quite sometime now. We finally were able to stay and this place did not disappoint. Our usual visits to the Asheville area consist of lots of hiking and dining out. But this trip we did barely did any of that. Not because those things were inaccessible, but because the cabin is truly so great that it is hard to leave for any reason. The small Jotul wood stove added a great warm and rustic feel to what was an already great ambiance, especially on a chilly winter week. I absolutely will be staying again. I also must say, that this place is pet friendly added that extra touch. After all it's not a family get away unless the whole family can come, even the dogs! Thanks so much Caroline!
PERFECTION!!!! That is the best word to describe our entire experience from start to finish! Caroline's hospitality and sweet spirit just set the tone for the entire trip. The cabin itself was a treasure. We hardly wanted to leave it because we felt so snuggled in. Every aspect of our stay was blissful!!!
