Adar (email hidden). He came to pick us up at the closest metro station, showed us all the neighborhood and had lunch with us. He is very warmful and helpful. The flat is perfectly located in the middle of Sultanahmet close to the most popular places (Grand Bazar, Blue Mosc, Aya Sofia, ...) and to the sea. The little park and the cafe located at few meters from the flat are very nice. The neighborhood is very local. The nights were quiet, no noise from the street. Plenty of shops and restaurants next to the Adar place. The flat is fully furnished and clean. We would definitly recommand this appartment. Thank you Adar for everything. We hope to come back very soon!
I stayed at Adar's apartment as a solo female traveler for four days in June 2014. Adar is an extraordinary host - highly communicative, friendly, strives to do whatever he can to ensure you are comfortable, familiar with the area, and have a great trip. He guided me through arrival and met me at the apartment, showed me around the neighborhood and how to get to Sultanahmet, made sure I understood how everything in the apartment worked and also the public transportation system. He knows everyone in town and is a great resource on everything (especially food!) I can't say enough about what an asset it is to have him as a host and would highly recommend any apartment of his.
The apartment was great and as expected based on the listing - clean, organized, quiet, close to the old city sites and public transportation. The location is outside the main tourist zone which is nice, though a bit more conservative. I was fine as a solo female traveler but if you're interested in walking around more at night you might want to check out his other listing which is in a neighborhood with more options and activity there.
Overall, Adar (email hidden) whose knowledge of the city and effort to make me comfortable added a lot to my experience and the place was what I was looking for.
As a previous guest wrote, the apartment was basic but it was fine for our needs. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable. The building is on a hilly street and does entail some uphill walking, but it is beautifully located for seeing the significant places in Istanbul.
And Adar, our host, could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were only in Istanbul for 3-1/2 days and Adar spent about 2-1/2 of those days with us. My wife and I fell that we have made a great friend and we look forward to seeing him again. He is an outstanding host who went out of his way for us at all times. He also seems to know almost everyone in Istanbul. I can't count the number of people who stopped us to say hello to Adar. I told him he must run for mayor of the city. He is one of those hosts who makes Airbnb look great!
Adar was (email hidden). Immediately treated you like an old friend and it was obvious that he wanted to make sure you were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the city.
The apartment is small but has everything you might need. The bedroom is a very good size and comfortable.
It's in a neighbourhood which seems to be full of locals, so you feel outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, yet very close to restaurants etc. Walkable distance to the main tourist attractions.
this (email hidden) to start our trip
Adar and his brother where very helpful.
the place was clean and tidy and close to everything. I would recommend getting a private transfer as our taxi had problems finding it. Recommended and thank you Adar
We had a fantastic stay in Adar's Old CIty Sultanahmet apartment! Adar was an incredible host. He was happy to answer any questions we had before we traveled. He met us when we arrived and showed us around the neighborhood. The apartment is in a great location. We walked to all the major historic attractions as well as to the grand bazaar and spice bazaar. We had a great time!
Adar was very friendly and helpful - (email hidden)e apartment was nice and clean and it's conveniently located. There is a fabulous seafood restaurant are just five minutes walk away and all the major old city sights are within 15-20 minutes walking distance. There are plenty of local and authentic shops bakeries cafes etc. around the corner.
It was our first stay in Istanbul and our first holiday abroad together. We saw many faces of Istanbul. We enjoyed for example the boat trip to the market in Üsküdar and the way back with sunset over Sultanahmet or walks through Sultanahmet and his sorroundings. Have you ever seen winding streets of Fener? We highly recommend it to see. And after all we could came back to Adar's cozy properties to relax. It was cozy appartment and the location was great, close to our daily meals Lots of small shops, locantasi and bakery. We had our breakfasts an most of our diners in well furnished kitchen. Adar is a good and service minded host that help us and also help other turists in the streets. The area seems to be quite safe. We are pleased to have met you Adar. We wish you a lot of satisfied guests. Filip and Michaela from Czech Republic
