About this listing
Our house is an old and very charming townhouse that is lightly and tastefully decorated. It is located in The Jordaan, the most authentic and popular neighbourhood of Amsterdam, and is at walking or cycling distance from all the highlights.
WE ARE OFFERING:
- two story apartment with sunny balcony
- clean sheets and towels
- flexible check-in and check-out times
Our cosy home is situated in the heart of Amsterdam and of the lively neighbourhood called the Jordaan. It is around the corner of the Anne Frank House as well as the prettiest canals.
The street is lively but not loud. Our big windows overlook both our lively street and an inner garden.
Our apartment comprises the groundfloor and the first floor of the townhouse. It is well decorated, light and has all the modern comforts except a tv. But trust us, staying in this part of town, you won`t even miss it!
comprises a library, a `petite` bathroom and a very romantic bedroom.
The first floor:
is the sitting area, dining room and kitchen that gives way to the sunny balcony.
It is literally a few minute`s walk or bike ride to all the city`s attractions.
Jordaan is known for it`s charming local and vintage shops, bars and restaurants and our street might well be one of the loveliest.
In July and August there are free concerts. We will make sure to show you the way to all the less known adventures.
From the airport to Amsterdam Central Station is a 10 minutes train ride.
From the Station you can hit a tram or taxi (€ 10) to our house.. or you can walk it.
The walk is beautiful and will guide you past the coffeeshops and tourist shops into the middle of the Jordaan.
If our house is indicated as available, it means we will be away for the weekend. Being a mixed couple (Dutch and Belgian) we often travel to see our Belgian family. It means that you will have the house to yourself!
Guests have access to everything our house has to offer.

I am a Belgian. Together with my dutch husband I live in the lively city centre of Amsterdam.
My husband and I love to travel. Since my parents live in Helsinki (FINL), my sister has studied and since then stayed in Edinburgh (SCOTL), and my younger brother still lives in Leuven (BE) we travel at least once a month. When we travel we like to stay in comfy homes rather than in a hotel. For us that was one of the reasons to check out AirBnB.
Besides travelling, my husband and I also love live music, dancing and good food!
For me food is good when it is home made with fresh ingredients, so I love going to the market on Saturday @Noordermarkt and Lindengracht. It is a lively market, just around the corner from our house, that sells nearly everything, think of fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, fish, cheese, and many other amazing products.
Amsterdam is a capital city but in our neighbourhood everything is small scale. Small theatres, lively bars in hidden corners and shops where the vendor actually knows your name. Living in the Jordaan is like living in a village in the centre of town!
Our neighbours are relaxed people, who love to chat when they run into you and who enjoy all good things in life. I love hanging out in the litlle streets around our house, seeying a movie at a local theatre (the movies) or enjoying a piano concert (pianola).
I`d love to open my house to other couples who pick Amsterdam for a spring or summer get away. I love having friends over and I see AirBnB as a way to meet people from all over the world and treat them to a perfect romantic get away in the best part of Amsterdam.
