Our cozy cabin is your perfect hotel alternative in this amazing Portland neighborhood.

The space

In the heart of the concordia neighborhood, quietly tucked away in a grove of Douglas Firs, just blocks from all the adorable shops and restaurants on Alberta street, Portland's "restaurant row" on 30th and Killingsworth, the Kennedy School, New Seasons and Alberta Park, this is the perfect hotel alternative. The cabin is a newly renovated guest house with a queen sized bed, full bathroom with tub, kitchenette sun deck with table, chairs and weber bbq. Wireless internet, easy free parking, and reasonable bike rental available in the neighborhood. there is a TV with a Roku box (Netflix), DVD player, and a great library of movies to watch. we will provide Nespresso for you to prepare your first morning if you wish. The kitchenette has a fridge, stovetop, toaster, cookware and dishware. We also provide towels and some bath products.
*please note that our sweet cat maximoose roams the yard occasionally, but does not go in the cabin so far as we know!*
Is the kennedy school booked? Too noisy? Oh, you want the option to make your own food? The concordia cabin is for you!

also: you may see people talk about the hot tub in their reviews. this spring we decided to decommission the hot tub, and we are replacing it with a cedar barrel sauna that will be up and running by the end of may! we have also added a fence around your deck for complete privacy in the good weather.

Interaction with guests

we like to give our guests their privacy, but are always happy to meet and give recommendations and exchange stories. in the warmer months, we often eat outside on our deck so we are more likely to run into you. if we have summer gatherings, our guests are always invited to join if they like!

Other things to note

depending on booking and cleaning schedules we can often be flexible about check in/out times. with same day bookings we usually need to stick to the 11am/4pm plan, but please do inquire close to the date of your stay if you like.

recents upgrades as of march '16 include:
better internet! much better internet. there is also a new "Roku" box on the TV with access to Netflix, and air conditioning, a northwest luxury!

while we have a 2 night minimum in the summer, if you see one night available in between bookings on the calendar, just write to us, and we might make an exception!

low impact dogs are ok. we do not charge an extra pet fee, so we do expect for dog owners to clean up after their dogs, both inside and out. consider bringing a dog bed. if your dog sheds and sits on furniture, please bring your own dog towels. in hundreds of bookings we have only had to do extra cleaning a couple of times, this is an incredibly repectful community!

Rachel and Joe were wonderful hosts, kind and communicative. The studio is in a great residential location, easy walking to shops and restaurants. It's small but bright, quiet and there is a private deck. The bed was comfy and cozy as well. We enjoyed our stay.

When we road trip down to Portland we usually stay at a hotel. This time we decided to stay more in a neighborhood and tried an Airbnb. Best choice ever!! Rachel and Joe's place was way more comfortable and way better located than a hotel! We were able to walk to some incredible places for breakfast and dinner and get a much better taste of the real Portland. Comfy bed, cozy cottage, and a great DVD selection. Highly recommend!!!

Nice place close to great restaurants & coffee shops. We liked the privacy & cleanliness of the cabin. Easily walkable to case study coffee, expatriate & proud Mary. Close to new seasons grocery as well. Biketown bikes nearby if you want to explore other neighborhoods of Portland. Proximity to airport made for easy traveling. Cozy, comfortable place, with the privacy fence on your own patio, you'd never know the owners lived on the same property. Great neighborhood to explore.

Rachel and Joe's cabin is small, but very private and in an excellent location, one with easy access to the shops and restaurants in the Alberta Arts District of Portland. We often used the private exit into the alley and took advantage of the unrestricted parking on Jessup Street, where we parked our tear drop trailer during our visit. The cabin is in a lovely neighborhood and we thought that it was just perfect for two adults. Everything that we needed for an enjoyable two day stay in Portland was provided for us. We'd happily stay there again!

This was perfect for me. I was in town to visit family. This cottage was the right price in the right location. Beyond those basics, it is in a nice quiet warm residential family oriented neighborhood, cozy but had everything I needed. Since I am a Beatles fan, The Yellow Submarines figures decor was welcoming. The bed and pillows were very very comfortable. I was there during a heat wave so I appreciated the AC. The hosts Rachel and Joe were quick to respond to my text questions and were very helpful, friendly and easy going.

The cabin was great! Small, but accommodating and has everything one would need for a fun stay in Portland. We used the private access to the cabin from the alleyway multiple times a day and found it super convenient. The location was also very convenient. Not far from the closest highway and a short walk from all the Alberta shops and restaurants. We would stay here again!
