Hello. You're about to read about a great place, a spacious apartment (130 sqm), calm and almost central, next to a very nice park with XIX century greenhouses.
The apartment has been recently renovated (2011), it has two newly made bathrooms, two bedrooms (1 large double bed + 1 sofa bed) a large living room, a room where I work when the flat is not rented (where an airbed will be placed for the fifth guest in case you are 5; I will make a special offer!), a kitchen and a fantastic porch on the back - overlooking a garden. My partner Federico and I always have lunch and dinner there from april to october! (unless it rains). Breakfasts on the porch are also great in the summer! The house is on the first floor (no elevator), has heating, it's equipped with a washing machine, a dishwasher, an iron and ironing board and it has wireless internet. You can park in the street under the house if you find a spot! (which you normally do!)
The apartment is located just off the city centre, behind Libertà Sq. I have indicated where exactly is the house in the 'maps' section - just click the tag "map" and is the dark green pin. Walking distance to the heart of town, the duomo, is 25 minutes; Bus n. 12 and n. 13 to and from the central station take 8 minutes sharp, while buses to the centre (C1 and 25) take 5 minutes. The flat is located in a non-touristic area; a 3 minute walk takes you to a daily fresh fruit and vegetables market and to a supermarket, a fantastic bakery, a great shop for sandwiches (panini!).
In case you feel like walking a on the less known country roads that surround this city, you only need to walk 10 minutes (uphill) and then you have various roads that lead to gardens, parks, olive orchards; on a sunny day, it's an incredible experience. (Mind the cars that sometimes drive on these roads! - I am posting a couple of pictures). The beautiful Stibbert Museum and Park (on the Florence card circuit) is 10 minutes away and you can reach it by crossing three gardens that will take you there in 15 minutes walk.
We hope you will like your stay as much as we do!
- You can smoke on the porch.
- It would be greatly appreciated if you could water the plants if you see that they are thirsty while staying in the flat.
- Both the sofa and the armchairs are white. Please be careful.
- Please treat the house as if it were your own. Is the only one that we have... and we love it!!
Marcella has a wonderful flat and prepared everything very well upon arrival. I would definitely recommend her place. She was very helpful with additional information about Florence as well.
It was a great idea to contact marcella because this flat is very Nice for four persons. Near of historic center (20 minutes to walk). Good memories.
Sometimes you get lucky, that's exactly how our family feels about our recent stay at Marcella Federico's flat in Florence, Italy. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, filled with natural light and well laid out to afford privacy. We enjoyed the location within walking distance of the center of Firenze but away from the bustle. Our family group of four ranged in age from 21 to 84 years old and all were happy with their rooms and the quiet residential location, superb pizza (Alborada; Spera), panini, deli and dining options within a few blocks of the flat. We're a family of walkers and in 9 days ranged all over Florence day and evening, never once took the bus although local bus service is an easy option, and always looked forward to returning to the comfortable apartment for a good night's rest.
Communication with Marcella was efficient and she provided welcome advice on markets. Logistics for the stay went smoothly and the cost for the flat is fair. We would definitely stay here again and recommend highly.
Marcella was a wonderful host. Her flat is located right in the heart of Florence, close to many attractions, a short 10-15 walk to the Duomo.
Everything was done in order to make us feel comfortable and right at home.
The flat itself really beautiful and spacious. It is decorated very tastefully.
Marcella's flat gave us the perfect "Florence" experience.
I highly recommend and will reserve with Marcella again next time I am in Florence.
Thank you for everything Marcella.
The apartment is located in an a very authentic Florentine neighborhood, with local restaurants, delicatessen shops (Fabbri is my favorite) and bars. It is well connected with the historic center (15 min walk or 7 min ride on bus C1), the central train station and the airport.
The apartment is spacious, nicely furnished, clean and fully accessorized (appliances dishes and tableware). Marcella is a super nice person, available for any question or request. highly recommended!
Perfect! Marcella's home was the ideal layout for us. We stayed for nearly 3 weeks and it was lovely. Because we work and travel at the same time, it was especially convenient having use of an office space with loads of natural light throughout. It's a great space with historic charm and modern furnishings with a warm and spacious layout.
It is conveniently located just outside of Florence center with a 20 min walk into the city. It is also conveniently located within a 5 min walk of a grocery store and local market just down the street. We also enjoyed the fact that when you look out the huge windows you see big green trees from all sides of the apartment; like an oasis in the city.
We have a one year old and the apartment was a nice setup for him as well.
Marcella and her boyfriend Federico were very easy to talk to and helpful with any questions we had. We also enjoyed having lunch with them in a traditional Florentine market, local style. Very friendly and accommodating people.
We highly recommend this property and look forward to returning again someday.
Thank you Marcella for a great apartment. It was very spacious, clean and we felt very much at home there. Great position (ten minutes walk to the bus stop). Breakfast on the balcony was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

I am an academic based at the University of Venice but I live in Florence. I'm very fortunate because I commute between two very beautiful towns; but what I most like to do is travel for pleasure and not for work. I also love skiing and swimming and, apart from work, I spend my time reading, meeting friends; I often give small dinner parties for friends in the house that you are viewing and they are always a success... I love cooking and having guests...I also love to meet new people. ciao.
