When I searched for accommodation in the Rome area, a reasonable rate, proximity to the airport and good links into the centre were important considerations. I found all this at Manuela's apartment and stayed one month. I found much more: Manuela is an extremely kind, cooperative and hospitable hostess. She picked me up by car at Termini station when I arrived, took me into the centre one evening just before Christmas to have a look at the lights, organised a Christmas lunch together with several of her friends, introduced me to family and neighbours and much more. She loves to cook and her kitchen is a culinary paradise. The apartment is roomy, spotlessly clean and I had my own bathroom. The south-facing terazza is perfect for a coffee and lunch, even in December! We became good friends, had long conversations always with our dictionaries at hand. I would particularly recommend Manuela's apartment for work-based assignments, as it is extremely well-positioned for accessing the large commercial area that stretches between the centre of Rome and Fiumicino Airport. I would certainly stay at Manuela's again.
I really enjoyed my stay in this place with Manuela. I stayed for 2 months while working in Rome. This is a very nice, clean apartment. There is a door to the terrace and you have your own bathroom with shower and bath. The apartment is close to the FM1 line that runs every 15 minutes from the airport (Fiumicino) through the center (Trastevere, Ostience, Tuscolana, Tiburtina,...). Manuela was a great host, changing the sheets and towels regularly and doing little things that made me feel very welcome, such as coffee in the morning. She is also a very fun and friendly person who I was happy to get to know over my time there. I would give the experience 5 stars but the location is a little far and transport can be difficult at night. Trains end around 2230 but there is a bus which can extend your curfew another 45 minutes or so. This could be a great location depending where you need to go and how late you like to stay out --> trains start early in the morning (around 5).
I've enjoyed my stay at Manuela's place: clean and cozy. The the room was perfect and I got my own bathroom!
I also liked the terrace in the evening where we spent time having dinner and interesting chat (Manuela is great cook!)
Manuela has been a great host; she assisted me in everything I needed and made my stay there very nice!
Clean! Spacious! Perfect host! I’m very honoured to be the first guest at Manuela’s apartment. It was very short stay... and my last day in Italy and she was the perfect host. I arrived at her place very late... 11 at night but she and her friend, Donatella waited and welcomed me and even prepared dinner. Fun chat and laughs over dinner and you really feel that you are welcomed. Her apartment and the room were super clean and very spacious for one person. I had my own bathroom and toilet to use and it had everything you need. She also prepared lovely breakfast with fresh coffee, tea, cake, yogurt, fruits and toast. What else would you want more? You think the location is somehow away from central Rome but it’s very accessible by train. There is a station near the apartment and it takes you to the main attractions with short train trip. Also easy to access to the Fiumicino airport by train/car. If you travel alone and look for clean, spacious and great host, this is your place. I would definitely recommend this place over those dirty/noisy/unsafe hostels in Rome. Thanks Manuela and Donatella for your generosity and kindness!
