The Alma Victoria Guesthouse offers self catered studio style suites. We often don't get to meet guests as most guests are busy enjoying every part of NYC long hours! We have a coded door code entrance you will receive so you can arrive on your own. We are only a phone call away for any urgent needs and have free hallway phone. We are also on the property ourselves on a private floor if you need us!
Clinton Hill Brooklyn is 4 stops ( about 12 minute ride) to all downtown Manhattan sites! Clinton Hill is a historically preserved area, a mix of singles, families, students and old time locals complete the true NYC feel. Coffee shops, cafes, vintage and new boutiques are mixed in with Museums, Parks and great restaurants. Old Brownstones homes line streets where masons are preserved and where farms once stood, where once the wealthy city merchants lived. Escape the Mega City of Manhattan to the cool village of Brooklyn, yet minutes to all you want to see! The waterfront Dumbo area & Williamsburg, Prospect Park are just some of the amazing places to visit in Brooklyn!

Our area is considered safe and quiet for NYC, not much nighttime street traffic, but this is the big city, and anything can happen anywhere at any time. We are walking distance to many great cafes, bars, restaurants and a $15 taxi takes to to exciting nightlife in Williamsburg or the Dumbo waterfront too! Just be aware and have fun!

The Victoria Family
This was my first visit to NY and first time using air bnb as well. I am glad to say that my husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! Alma made the check in process very easy for us, providing us with clear directions, making it a really smooth process. The room itself is spacious! We were very comfortable. The host made herself readily available for us should we need additional items or have any q's, though there was no need for us to call as we had everything we needed! I also have to mention that the bed is really comfy! We stayed during late March and Brooklyn was very, very cold however the room was nice and cosy. The room has a heater and there are spare blankets too. There was minimal noise and we felt completely safe in the secure building. In terms of location, the subway is just a short walk away. We also found the nearby laundromat really useful and there is a deli pretty much opposite the building. It's also walking distance to Barclays Centre/Atlantic Ave or a $7 cab fare. For breakfast we got a couple items from the grocery store a few mins walk away, the other option I'd recommend is Bendon Hill, also just a short stroll away. The neighbourhood is pleasant and I felt safe, even walking at night. We would gladly stay here again on our next visit!
We had a great stay at alma Victoria house. The room was large and clean, the bathroom was a little basic, but clean and with lots of hot water so no complaints! The subway was about a 5 - 10 min walk away and got you into central Manhattan (around penn station) in around 25 minutes. All in all we would say that this is a great place to base yourself and would consider coming back next time! Thank you!
Hello Friends- Thank you for your stay! We are only 4 stops to ALL downtown Manhattan tourist sites and locations and between each stop is about 4 minutes so the actual ride time is about 12 minutes daily to Manhattan, and yes to father stops uptown a little longer. We hope you had a great stay, we are always happy we have happy guests! Thank you again!
My stay was great! Very comfortable nice room. There was some minor confusion when I showed up early in the day, but I reached someone via the nighttime number right away and got it sorted out. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely guesthouse. Whilst Heather was not there to receive us, she left us with clear instructions and there were no issues on arrival. The neighborhood is safe and the house is an easy 5 min walk to two subway stations.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable (PS: NO bed bugs!). The shared bathroom was also clean.
The room's amenities cater for the possibility of eating in when needed. There is a supermarket nearby, and we generally had breakfast in the room and at times also prepared some nice warming soups in the evenings. Great way to save and feel at home!
The NYC radiator heating system can at times be a tad noisy, but one gets used to it very fast. If in doubt, bring some ear plugs! It is also important to be aware that the level of noise emanating from the other room on the same floor depends on the consideration of others.
All in all, it was a great stay, at a very affordable price, and we highly recommend it!
Thank you for your stay, we are always happy guest have a great time. We only ask and hope guests take the time to call us from the free hallway phone for any needs or questions about their rooms, the area, noises, any issues with heating or guests of course so we can take care of any problems for a comfortable stay. We are between NYC and Miami but our full time live in managers Cecile and Johnny can always be found in the house...
I stayed in the Alma Victoria for 3 days, it is decorated cute and it's kept clean. The wifi signal was strong enough for us to stre movies. There are a few little places a short walk away as well as the subway that is little bit over a 5 minute walk. Not a bad area but if you are a single female I really wouldn't reccommend you to walk around alone at night. I felt ok walking around with my 6'3 boyfriend but wouldn't have left the house alone. Everything was good about this place except for the heater. It was so noisy. It was certainly warm but so so noisy. I can sleep through almost anything but this was so loud my boyfriend and I couldn't talk over it when it would go off. It woke us through the night and in the morning each day/night. Someone came in on our second to last day and seemed to be aware that we were having this problem (we never complained to anyone, we thought we would just try to ignore it) and said it would be fixed but it continued to be just as noisy. We could hear other rooms having the same problem from outside their door when walking by. I really hate to say anything bad about any place because it's a cute home and I hate to defer people from their business but I also must be honest for other travelers because it kind of ruined our trip not being able to sleep through the night or sleep in, and not so romantic when it sounds like construction is going off in your room. Hopefully this was just something that happened during our stay and it has been resolved since we left. If it is resolved, then I would recommend this place.
Its too bad you couldn't follow simple requests we ask of all guests, which is to pick up a phone and call us for any issues-we can not fix something we don't know about. We frequently check with guests about the steam heating and SOME guests do what we say NOT to do and they close or play with or break the pressure valves, causing pressure to build up and noise to be made when heating up initial. This ONLY happens IF guests close the valves and cause pressure to build. Once it is re opened this can take 24 hours to clear as they will now be water trapped inside-this is common in ALL NYC older buildings and all steam systems. The guests who don't call and them complain later have some sort of communication problems as radiators can be drained and the nosies stooped or prevented. We had to pay $1000 for valve repairs thanks to guest who broke the valves instead of calling us. We ask our guests to CALL us or come to our door if they have any issues so we can correct them, unfortunately this guest did not, and therefor suffered some noise issues in their room only and one other that had closed valves.
The room was comfortable and clean, the location was good ( a five minute walk to the subway), overall a good place to stay to explore NYC.
Thank you for your stay! We are always happy to have happy guests. Thanks for the mention about smoke detectors, as per NYC law we do have detectors outside every studio suite room in the hallways on each floor as well a fire extinguisher. I am sorry if you didn't notice those or see them! Have a great year!
This was a great place and the host was very helpful. They went out of their way to help us when we had a travel emergency. Very clean. About a 20-30 minute train into Times Square that was easy to navigate.
