Although we have renovated the rooms, they are still authentic and historic in almost every way. The windows and doors are over a hundred years old, and function as well you might expect. Sound travels in these old buildings, keeping your voice low at night and early mornings is appreciated by all. The beautiful historic elevator is just for looks, so be prepared to walk up a flight or two of stairs. The geothermal radiators and pipes can be hot to the touch and sometimes noisy. Lodge Rooms don't have TV’s, alarm clocks, or phones (but there is wifi). What we do offer is blissful relaxation in mineral hot springs to your hearts content and a genuine stay in a historic hotel.

Guest access
Guest room and attached sitting room
are private. All other spaces are shared with other hotel guests, including restroom and shower.

Other things to note
Here’s some wonderfully helpful information, the fine print, call it what you wish, but please do read it all very thoroughly before deciding if we are a good fit for your vacation.

This is a historic property. It isn’t perfect, it’s old and quaint. It’s under renovation. It’s a very authentic early 1900’s experience with a bit of a modern twist. Please keep your expectations accordingly.

All Guests must be 12 years or older to stay in the room, no exceptions.

We do not make exceptions to room occupancy limits. This room has a 2 person limit.

Cancellation and Rebooking Policy: Cancellations can really affect our small
business. We understand things happen and we offer cancellation with full refund or rebooking for another date as long as it’s done 5 full days before your reserved date. No refunds, rebooking or credits for future stays will be issued with less than 5 full days notice. Not even for extreme winter weather, road closures (which happen often in winter, but usually clear up in a few hours), heat waves, low air quality or sickness of yourself or family. We highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (Airbnb even offers this at check out now) that will cover issues that arise less than 5 days from your stay.

All friends/family of Lodge Guests who wish to soak must pay for and reserve a soaking pass on our website.

No pets. No exceptions.

To comply with our State Liquor License, NO PERSONAL ALCOHOL may be consumed on the property. We have beer and wine for purchase at The Thermal Pub and the Front Desk, 7 days a week.

Renovations inside and outside are ongoing. You will see areas of the building and property in disrepair… our list of renovations is long. We try our best to be quiet, but you may at times hear construction noise.

We are near a highway and a railroad (no crossings and usually no whistle), we are surrounded by the sounds of animals such as birds and coyotes, it gets very windy all winter long. These things can cause noise that will bother you if you’re a light sleeper. We have ear plugs and white noise machines available at the Front Desk.

Check in time is from 4:00pm to 10:00pm PST/PDST. Please be aware of the time change if you’re heading from the Boise area. ID with name matching reservation required at check in.

The Thermal Pub has a small appetizer menu, there is no restaurant on site. La Grande is 8 miles away and has multiple restaurant options. We have a Foodie guide with recommendations at the Front Desk.

We provide Mt. Hood Roasters Coffee, herbal tea, fruit and granola bars every morning in the Lobby. On weekends we have a bagel bar.

What to bring: A heavy reusable water bottle (we have chilled mineral water stations) and heavy shoes to wear to the soaking tubs - yes, it can be windy enough to blow them away. A swimsuit. A hat for sun or wind. Snacks.
