Located in Islote, a quaint beach town in Arecibo on the North shore of Puerto Rico, our cottage is just steps away (2-minute/400 feet walk) from our gorgeous secluded sandy beach, the neighborhood’s hidden gem. Let yourself relax and experience the Caribbean sun while enjoying the sea breeze, soothing sounds of the waves on the sandy shore and amazing views of the Atlantic coast. Come stay with us for an unforgettable “off the beaten path” experience!

The space
Our house is fully equipped with everything you will need in your home away from home. There's two bedrooms with air conditioning (one full size bed & a bunk full sized bed); a bathroom; and kitchen area which includes: a fridge, counter-top stove, sink, microwave, toaster oven, cups, plates, pots and pans, cutlery, coffee maker, etc. Our home has a fenced-in yard, parking for one car on premises, furnished dining room and living room, small laundry room with washer and dryer, water heater, TV, and WiFi.

At our vintage 1970’s Puerto Rican cottage, you will enjoy the “small town” lifestyle in a close-knit beach farm community. Furthermore, our place is minutes away from several popular beaches in Islote, local pubs, restaurants, bakeries, stores, and unique landmarks.

We are happy to host you at our rustic hideaway nestled in this neighborly countryside area. Our home is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, small families or small groups of friends. Nuestra casa es su casa.

Beaches and attractions located within less than 10 minutes:

• Poza del Obispo – this beach is one of the most spectacular beaches on the North coast.

• Hollows Beach – one the area’s premiere surf spots.

• Playa Caza y Pesca – the most popular local beach in Islote.

• Poza de Don Guelo – a spectacular beach and natural salt water pool, with calm and crystalline water.

• Colombus New World Monument – home to the world’s largest statue of Christopher Columbus.

• Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park – a Neoclassical structure constructed in 1898 continues to light the way for ships, it offers a great experience with a small museum, and replicas of an indian village, among others.

• IMS SUP by Pito – stand up paddle boards, body boards and surf boards, kayak, bicycles, snorkel gear, foam boards, skate boards (lessons and rentals available).

Other tourist attractions in Arecibo:

• Aventura Cueva Ventana (Cave Window) – one of the best tourist attractions in Puerto Rico. This large cave is situated atop a limestone cliff overlooking the Río Grande Arecibo valley. This attraction has trained biologists who provide guided tours of the natural cave. Likewise, visitors will learn about the history of the original Taino Indians during the 45-minute walk.
• La Planta River (also known as Río Tanamá) – this is a popular attraction with locals, who love to spend their weekends at the beautiful, man-made La Planta waterfalls. These waterfalls are a great stop while visiting Arecibo.
• Arecibo Observatory – is the location of the world's second-largest single-dish radio telescope, which features a visitor’s center with interactive exhibits and displays about the operations of the radio telescope, astronomy, and atmospheric sciences.
• Xtreme freefall divers – available throughout the year, home of the Puerto Rico Freefall Festival every February featuring, freefall coaching and organized jumps, tandems, and more. Xtreme Divers have the only two skydiving locations in Puerto Rico, one of them located in Arecibo. If you’ve been thinking about skydiving, you can make an appointment with Xtreme Divers.
• Arecibo Water Park – a local water park great to spend the day with children.

• Arrecife 681 – best beachside gastropub in Islote to enjoy Puerto Rican traditional dishes, seafood, local beers, drinks, and live music. Arrecife is located on road 681, Km. 5.9 Islote, Arecibo.

• Bocata Smokehouse – trendy beachfront barbecue restaurant in Islote, Arecibo which specializes in smoked meats, appetizers and “Mojitos” with fresh fruits. Road 681 Km. 6.1 Islote, Arecibo.

• Playa Brava – this restaurant boasts a dining area with amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean. Playa Brava specializes on Puerto Rican traditional dishes and seafood. Road 681 Km. 12.2 Islote, Arecibo.

• My Sweet Bakery – this bakery offers breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, coffee, and Puerto Rican sweet bread (a local delicacy, ask for “pan sobao”). Juan Rosado Ave. # 335 Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

• Rex Cream - this historic site has been serving homemade ice cream for over 55 years. The coconut ice cream is highly recommended, which is handcrafted with locally sourced coconuts.

• Callejón del Beso Fogón Gitano – Spanish-Gypsy restaurant and wine cellar, Mediterranean dishes, “tapas” and “sangría”. Callejón del Beso is part of the gastronomic initiative “La Puntilla Barrio Gastronómico”, which includes other local restaurants.
