We had a terrific weekend in the West Village and the accommodations were perfect for our family of five adults. Jann's information relative to the neighborhood was spot on for what we needed over the time we had. Public transportation is readily available and the street parking was easy (for 3 out of area cars!). The modest farmers' market at this time of year ~ on a morning w 40 mph gusts ~ was an added treat.

Had such a great time! I wanted to stay in that apartment for good! It's large, spacious and in the best hood of NYC in my opinion. Definitely a great place to stay!
Jann was great with texts and phone calls. He was a most thoughtful host but we found everything that we needed including clues to the family's taste in books and videos. We were too busy seeing plays, eating at nearby restaurants and taking a NYC Tenement tour to enjoy the things we find in our own homes. Our metro cards were easily used at the close metro station and we found that walking the neighborhood brought many delicious treasures.
Great bed in the master and a most delightful Very Hungry Caterpillar in the second bedroom. Wonderful location, cosy place and two flights of stairs. Pack accordingly.
Clean, convenient rental in a great neighborhood. Jann was very responsive and made sure that we were greeted on arrival. We had some trouble with the shower faucet, but he made sure to get back to us very quickly. The place was just as described and was clean and stocked with necessary items such as paper towels, soap, etc. Would recommend.
This apartment is a great experience for our stay in NY! The location is really convenient, and there are lots of great restaurants and bars! We can enjoy different food everyday around this neighborhood. Just under the building there is a supermarket, so the buying is easy also. The house is just like the picture, and it's really cute. Perfect for the family stay in NY. And Jann is really kind and responsive, a good host. The only problem is, it's a little noisy because it's at the crossing road. However, the host kindly prepared the eye-plugs for tenant. In a word, we have a great vacation here in Jann's house. Thanks Jann.
Jann was unable to meet us but, Nathan let us in and showed us around the apartment. There were four of us and the two bedrooms gave us plenty of room. The apartment was well appointed with towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, kitchen supplies. There was a market just down the street if needed.
Jann was easy to correspond with and provided us a list of information about the neighborhood and restaurants that were nearby and other favorites about town.
It was February, windy, cold, and a bit of snow but, we had no problem getting to the metro or nearby restaurants plus there were always cabs available just outside the front entrance. We only used the apt to sleep and shower; we were gone from morning until late in the evening but, the location was close enough to the metros that if you did want to return during the day you could.
Everything went well and I would recommend Jann's place to friends. We especially liked staying in the West Village. Neat vibe. Lots to do but, not rowdy or commercial. If you are there on Saturday be sure to check out the farmer's market in the park across the street. Note: It is on the third floor. It was not a problem for us (ages 21-72).

I am a writer/producer living in New York. I worked in television for many years, hosted large New Year's Eve parties for a decade and eventually launched a company, which produced a 10-city, simultaneous New Year's Eve party, connected by a live broadcast.
I love New York and I also love to travel. Whenever I'm out of town, my two-bedroom apartment in the West Village proves to be the perfect home for Airbnb travelers from all over the world.
