The space
Step back in time into this grand historic piece of Mt. Hood’s rustic charm. Built in 1932, five years before Timberline Lodge, and using the same architectural style, this classic Cascadian lodge is nestled on a secluded acre of woodland forest on Clear Creek. The heart and soul of this remarkable home is the spacious great room with its massive stone fireplace, crafted by the stonemasons of Timberline Lodge, rising two stories to lofty open-beam ceilings. With six bedrooms and four baths, this is a perfect retreat for your next family reunion or group gathering or for a romantic weekend getaway! Open the door onto the wide veranda and adjoining deck to enjoy the tumbling waters of Clear Creek, or and stroll down to the 700-foot long lower deck with gazebo, which is the perfect venue for large gatherings. Just below, the banks of Clear Creek offer a magical setting for picnics and marshmallows roasting over the firepit. Throughout this unique 3,750-square-foot living space, you'll find knotty pine walls, vaulted ceilings, woodland-theme furnishings, colorful quilts, and other rustic touches, as well as modern amenities, such as WiFi, Netflix, cable TV, and DVD. The bright, airy kitchen offers plentiful counter space and modern appliances. The adjoining dining area offers sunny views through the large windows and generous seating and for friends and family to gather for meals and board games. An extra-special treat is the fresh, pure water from Minikahda spring coming from the tap: no need for bottled water! The lodge, which sleeps 14 people in comfort, is divided into two parts. The main lodge features four bedrooms, a full bath downstairs, and a half bath upstairs. The two downstairs bedrooms have a queen bed and two twin beds and the upstairs bedrooms feature a king bed and two twin beds. The bunkhouse addition offers a large upstairs main bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds, a smaller upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, and two full bathrooms downstairs.

What's nearby:
This two-level home sits on a spacious and private property, surrounded by a thicket of lush evergreens. Yet, it's also just down the street from Mt. Hood National Forest, 13 miles from Government Camp and Mt. Hood Skibowl, 19 miles from the Timberline Lodge and Ski Area, and 24 miles from Mt. Hood Meadows. Thanks to its extraordinary mountain character and convenient location just off of Lolo Pass, Minikahda Lodge is an ideal place for hikers, skiers, and outdoor enthusiasts to escape into nature. Looking to play a round of golf? You're less than four miles from the Resort at the Mountain and its 27 manicured holes. Care to fit in a hike or two? Begin your morning at the Ramona Falls Trailhead to enjoy a relatively easy trail to a truly spectacular cascade. The area also offers several excellent cafes and restaurants, as well as nearby grocery shopping in Welches.
