We have two miniature schnauzers who are yappy but friendly. They love to meet new people and get excited when they hear you come home but will quiet down after a few minutes. My host assisted me to find local transportation, they took me to the super market, they are very kind I had a very pleasant stay in quiet neighborhood
Really nice stay here. The room was clean, very comfortable and smelled really fresh! Neighbourhood was nice and safe. Shannon was an excellent host - very communicative and helpful in all matters. Will fully recommend this place for anyone visiting Carlsbad and we will stay here again too if we are ever in the area!
Shannon kept in contact with me prior to and greeted us upon arrival. She knew we were pressed for time and gave a quick walk through. We met her precious dogs (she asked us first). Then she gave us our privacy. She promptly responded to texts. The room was clean, beautiful and amply equipped/furnished with anything we need ed, from wireless Internet, Apple TV, microwave, fridge and coffee/tea, to all the toiletries one could need if forgotten to pack and a sleep machine. The neighborhood is newer and quiet. It is close to The Broken Yolk cafe, Costco gas and the Omni Resort. We had a fabulous stay. Thanks again!
Really nice, private room. Great host! About 10 minutes bike ride from the Chopra Center. Shannon was so nice and even let me use her bike every day for free! Definitely recommend!
Shannon was very helpful and easily available to answer any questions.
Room was as described, and the bed was very comfortable.
Would recommend for anyone that needs a place to stay in Carlsbad.
Staying with Shannon and Doug, I had all the comforts of home with the private entrance, bath and small fridge for some snacks and lunch food. The accommodations had great closet space and dresser as well as lots of towels and necessary amenities. I was very comfortable and was able to come and go as I liked without disturbing anyone which I liked as I left the house early each day. Bed was cozy with nice linens and big fluffy pillows. The hosts were easily accessible for directions or recommendations. I was able to do laundry which was a big plus that I did not even realize. I miss the little dogs that live in the house. They always made me smile when I opened my door to the house to see them there looking for me.
About the Host, Shannon
Love to travel the world, meet new people, have good conversation, eat good food, drink good cocktails/wine/beer. From the midwest in the USA originally and have two mini-schnauzer dogs named Fritz and Trude.
I am a former full-time high school teacher/now a substitute teacher and also own my own social media marketing company to help small businesses here in San Diego.
I minored in German and lived in Munich for a year doing a study abroad for the University of Cincinnati so when I am practiced I can speak German quite well.
In my free time I love to play tennis (especially doubles) and many other sports and I try to get to the gym 5 or 6 days a week. I enjoy quality food or what is known as "clean" eating with the occasional hamburger/burrito/cocktail thrown in occasionally. I trained for years as a dancer when I was younger and I still am known to throw on the tap shoes for special occasions! ;-)
