About This Listing
Walking distance to Chinatown and hundreds of awesome restaurants. Perfect for foodies! Very close to the Rio, excellent location for poker players.
**Bicycle Rental is Now Available!**
Stretch your legs in this fully furnished, generously sized room with your very own 32" flat screen HDTV, Blue Ray DVD player with internet connection for Netflix, Youtube, Pandora, etc, huge walk in closet, queen size orthopedic bed (very comfy) with soft satin sheets, tempur-pedic pillows, dresser, mirror, nightstands, and even your own desk! High speed Wi-fi internet is available.
3 miles away from the Las Vegas Strip and within walking distance to Chinatown. Only 5-7 minutes by car to the Strip, or 15 minutes by bus. 3-4 minutes away to the Palms or Rio (perfect for poker players!). I can also help you get discounted show tickets for Cirque du Soleil or other shows, as well as car or camper van rentals for road trips.
Lots of reasonably priced restaurants nearby, mostly within walking distance with great food, such as Vietnamese pho, all-you-can-eat sushi, Chinese food from damn near every province in China, dim sum, all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ places, and they're all open late (4am). Few bars within walking distance that offer 24 hour steak and egg specials also (usually 16oz New York steak & eggs for $9.95). They will also give you free drinks if you play on their slot machines. Grocery stores and drugstores within walking distance.
If you don't feel like going out to eat, there's always instant noodles in the house, and occasional fresh fruits (bananas). I also have a good selection of high end Teavana and Chinese teas (not the crappy bagged stuff), as well as coffee (with a French style coffee maker) and Ovaltine. Even protein shakes! Lots of delivery options nearby, from pizza, Chinese, Italian, even a Southern style restaurant that has excellent breaded catfish fillets.
Kitchen is available for use, as long as you clean up after yourself. Microwave, blender, fridge, steam wrinkle remover (easier than ironing), and an electric massager is available for you to use. Filtered water is available, with a very good ionized filter machine that can also produce alkalized water (stuff they sell for $3 a liter at Whole Foods).
The shared living room has a 55" LED TV with surround sound, Blue Ray player, as well as a computer with high speed internet and printer/scanner/fax that's available for guests to use. Of course, Netflix comes standard, and the Sony sound system is good enough to piss off the neighbors if you decide to rock out the iPod/Pandora/Spotify.
For those who'd never miss gym time, there is also a professional grade Octane Elliptical trainer, small weight bench, inversion table, pilates ball, P90X DVDs, and Total Gym pull up bar with ab attachment you're welcome to use.
Always a fully stocked fridge (usually with alcohol ;) - guests are welcome to it, but please be considerate and replace what you finish.
The room is available for 4 travelers max. I have queen and full size airbeds available if needed. There is a friendly male Border Collie/Lab mix on premises on occasion. He won't ever bite (unless you're a burglar who weren't properly introduced). If you're allergic to or hate dogs, this is probably not for you. No cigarette or cigar smoking indoors. Washer and dryer is available on premises.
I'm always available if you need recommendations on dining or nightlife, and can possibly help arrange discounted bottle service or skipping the lines at a few venues. Can also help with discounted Cirque du Soleil tickets for prime seats. Bike rentals are also available starting at $10/day. No pets please.
PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING.
Some people booked the room and then were surprised when they see a dog in the house, even though it's mentioned in the room description.
So if you're too lazy to read through the whole thing, here's a summary:
1. THERE IS A DOG IN THE HOUSE. He's a very sweet older border collie/lab mix. He doesn't bother anybody, and will play with you or do tricks for doggie treats.
2. What I DO offer:
A. Local guide to the hottest Las Vegas night clubs,
lounges, and bars. Afterparties and pool parties in the
spring/summer. Most venues I can walk you in past
the long lines without paying cover, or discounted
cover for guys.
B. Open bar with all kinds of alcohol, even frozen
margaritas/daiquiris. Saves you a lot of money if you
pregame before going out. Just don't go too crazy.
C. Freedom to come and go as you please. Want to party
all night and come home at 5 AM? I'm OK with that.
Want to stay in your room all day studying or working?
That's fine too.
D. A comfortable, safe and reasonably clean place to
sleep and shower.
3. What I DON'T offer:
A. Breakfast or any kind of meals. Pointless since in
Las Vegas you can have steak and eggs breakfasts
for under $10, and all day 24 hour buffets for $44.95. I
do have juice, tea, coffee, instant noodle, and bananas
on occasion. You're free to cook your own meals if you
B. Cleaning or turn down service. Please clean up after
C. A perfectly manicured front yard. My landlord decided
to rip out all the grass and put rocks instead. But he's
too cheap to do it right, so now there's wildflowers all
over the front yard. Hopefully he'll come to his senses
one day and put the grass back in. My dog loves it
D. A hospital-clean environment. Tough when you have
an indoor dog. If my dog drops a piece of kibble on the
floor while I'm not home to pick it up and it freaks you
out, this is probably not for you.
No overnight non-paying guests allowed. Kitchen is available to use, but please no stinky foods. Please remove footwear while in the house. Indoor flip flops will be provided. Please do not feed the dog. All electronics and gym equipment is available for use, but please do not abuse. Please keep everything clean. Please wash you own dishes after you use them.
Amazing room. It was much larger than the picture shows. Desk/chair/wifi is perfect for anybody doing work on a laptop. Bed was big also which I liked a lot. The dog was extremely chill and never barks which is cool. Rama is very smart in terms of Vegas and what it has to offer. He will definitely give you great advice and suggestions as to where to eat and which casinos are best for what you are looking for. Overall had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone.
This is a good value.
I was unable to stay in the room I had originally booked since the guest extended their stay but Rama moved me into a different room at no additional cost.
The room was clean and Rama's family was very helpful and accommodating.
The Las Vegas bus service makes a stop about 2 blocks from the house and it is easy to get to the Strip or downtown if you don't rent a car.
I would stay here again.
Je suis resté un mois et je suis satisfait de ce séjour.
La chambre spacieuse et agréable. La maison proche de tout les besoins quotidien (supermarché, coiffeur, banque, station essence, etc)
Que dire de plus ;)
If you're looking for a no-frills getaway, that isn't a noisy place on the strip, this is it. Quiet neighborhood. Laid back host. Good price.
Rama was absolutely correct in his description of the accommodations, so read the whole thing. He's not pulling any punches.
This experience brought me back to college. You know the one - dating a guy who lives in a party house with five other college aged fellas. Nothing is really that clean and taking off your shoes to walk around barefoot is ill advised. Who knows what those smeared carpet stains are really from? There's a random vacuum hanging out by a bookshelf and the living room is filled with workout equipment, so relaxing on the couch is not actually relaxing. (And, should you really be sitting on that couch to begin with?)
In party house mode - this is the happening place to be. Liquor bottles line-up atop the cabinet horizons in the kitchen, the dining table shows wear undoubtably from all those popular drinking games, and if the bathroom is occupied, just step outside to relieve yourself.
He doesn't charge a cleaning fee and asks each guest to clean up after themselves. How do you suppose this works out for guests in a rush to head out? The bathroom looked as if a wad of toilet paper did all the wiping down. The tub was stained, mold on the shower liner, and I'm not sure where those drops on the toilet came from. Nothing was shiny.
This house is good enough if you're shoe-stringing Vegas. I ended up laughing as I took photos of this conundrum, then texted them to my boyfriend. He promptly moved me into a strip resort the next morning. Although I could have stayed here and been just fine, I do like aesthetically pleasing homes and this wasn't one of them.
Rama's dog is so sweet. I love dogs and this is a good one!
Rama did have the keys readily available and was able to answer the phone or return my messages promptly when I called. He's organized and the home is organized. It's just not attractive, nor terribly clean.
Another case of someone booking a room without reading the description. As it is well stated in the listing, I have multiple properties, and this one is geared for people who just need a place to pre-game before partying and come home to sleep after. It is a party house, and this is the property I'm staying at, so you get front seat access to the Vegas nightlife. Definitely not suited for older people who's looking for a Four Seasons hotel experience at 10% the price. If she had booked a room at my other property the experience would have been different.

About the Host, Rama
I've been living in Las Vegas for a long time, and can show you the side of LV that only locals know. I'm into nightlife (and daylife in the summer - lots of pool parties at the hotels), and can possibly hang out with you and get you into a venue without waiting in line if my schedule allows (I party responsibly ;)). Maybe even get you hooked up if you have a big group and need a table/bottle service.
I also have hookups with show tickets and can get you 30% discount on most Cirque du Soleil shows such as O, KA, Zumanity, Love, Criss Angel, and Zarkana. Also shows such as Jabbawockeez and David Copperfield.
I'm into travelling, and I love to meet people from all over. It's always good to know someone when you're in a foreign country.
2 things I live by: I would try anything at least once - and live life with no regrets.
