The pictures, comments and reviews are one of the best ways to get a fair impression of this apartment, instead of me telling you how peaceful it is... ;-). To experience it yourself is probably the fairest of them all...
Below a full description.

Living as a local in Amsterdam in a newly refurbished apartment by myself (located on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. Studio floor with kitchen. Top floor: two bedrooms and bath room). The apartment is perfectly suitable for one person up to four persons. Wireless internet, CD, mp3, radio is available. Kitchen ware, bedding and towels will be supplied. Advices about where to go to and walk tips close by, will be ready in the apartment at arrival.
A maximum of 4 people. The sizes of the bed: The bed in master bedroom is 180 centimeters wide and 200 centimeters long. The second bed is 110 centimeters wide and 200 centimeters long. The third bed, which will be on the ground, is 80 centimeters wide and 190 centimeters long. The second and third bed are located in the guest bedroom.
At the end of the street is a self service laundry. The costs for one wash is around €4 plus some extra for the dryer.
Just a note if you are not a climbing type: In most of the old houses of Amsterdam the stairs are steep, also in this apartment. As the apartment is on the third floor, it can be a perfect way to stay fit, or it can be a big hassle for you. It's just how you want to experience it :-).
A discount for bike rental.
For parking your car, you can go to Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station, Park & Ride parking place.
Interaction with Guests
First of all I like to point out that there is always room for communication and to adapt to your individual needs.
If you hesitate to book, you can contact me with your questions, which I will try to answer as detailed as possible.
After you book, and we both accepted, you will receive a mail, with an explanation how to get to the apartment, a self made (website hidden) map with places close by you can visit, a brief explanation of the house-guidelines and the desired check-in and check-out times.
During our booking it is best to reach me via AirBnB conversation. I check it at least once a day. Otherwise via e-mail or telephone ((website hidden) is also possible).
During Check-in, I or my friend Kassi will show you all there is to show and tell you more about Amsterdam and talk about the places you can and like to go to.
During Check-out, I or my friend Kassi will say goodbye and wish you a safe journey home.
I love that it is a small neighborhood, clean and very close to the Jordaan. I mostly do everything by foot.
Amsterdam is very suitable for walking and biking. Really! If you prefer public transport though; Tram 3 is around the corner. This will take you to the big musea; Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. From this line you can switch to other tramlines. Busses are also nearby the apartment, but only convenient to go to the station and out of the city.
Other Things to Note
I'm one of those Amsterdam Dutch people who doesn't smoke weed. I have never smoked weed axially. In my view: the so called fun of that disconnected state, never appealed to me. I prefer to have people staying over, who pay attention to their every day life, their health and environment and see and enjoy the beauty in that. So, please if you are here to party and crash, this is not your place to spent your time. There are way better options for that, in Amsterdam. Amsterdam has so much to offer apart from weed and crash. so much more. And you are totally welcome here in this apartment, to experience that beauty.
Please understand the need for a €250 cash deposit which you will get back during Check-Out.
Appreciate silence after 22:00 in the stairway. (Music till 01:00 at night is ok, if it is not loud and hearable in the stairway, silence talking in the stairway (this is not the apartment) after 22:00 in the evening and before 8:00 in the morning.)
The reservation was canceled 23 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a lovely time in Amsterdam. The apartment was well located for both central Amsterdam and also to get the free ferry over to the Eye which was great. We have an 18 month old baby and the apartment worked really well for us. Wouter was a great host and was very flexible with our timings. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Wouter is a friendly and responsible host who met us on the first day of our trip. Apologies for the delay but the walk from the train station to the apartment was around 30min with our luggages! The apartment is in a nice and quiet neighbourhood so we were able to have a good rest at home. There is only one bus and one tram that serve the neighbourhood but thankfully waiting time is only 10min. The steps of the apartment are very narrow as are most apartments in Europe, and there is no lift in the building so be prepared to walk all the way up! Otherwise, the apartment is as stated - clean and neat with an oven, fridge and freezer. It was certainly a pleasant experience staying in Wouter's apartment!
The apartment is very nice, spacious and has nice utilities. Me and two of my friends spent an 8 day vacation there. Like most buildings in Amsterdam, this one has a very steep staircase. Just a heads up, to reach the apartment you have to go up 3 floors. Although not easy at first, you can get used to it pretty quickly. The location was OK, there are 2 bus lines that run close by so its pretty easy to get to the centraal station and to the center of Amsterdam. Overall we were satisfied with the accommodation and recommend it to easy going and young travelers.
The flat is as pictured, very comfortable and home like. We were late due to airline delay and Wouter's friend Hakim was nice about having to wait for us. Very easy transit right off a tram line, just around the corner. Something about the place gives off a very warm energy. I loved sitting in the living room at night with the windows open and some music playing. The big bed is comfy too. All around pleasant stay. Easy to get around. Would recommend and would stay there again. Cheers!
I love to be outside and I love to come home in a quiet safe surrounding and just enjoy being. This thing called 'Home' is what I hope to create for you during your stay in Amsterdam.
My main occupation at the moment is hand-making a carpet, with wool and cotton. One of my big financial supporters has been occasionally renting out my apartment via AirBnB for the past few years. This summer (2015) I might start hiking for a few weeks through Europe, so ideally when you rent my home, you support my travel. Thank you. Apart from the financial benefits, I find it a treat if someone else can enjoy my apartment, while I'm away.

I hope you enjoy my apartment as much as I do and more and more… :-). I wish you a wonderful stay in Amsterdam!
