The Vanstory Hills Neighborhood has been a highly sought after neighborhood for over 50 years and is centrally located in the historic areas of Fayetteville. For many years, the homes were built by the same builder and are of high quality construction. The streets are wide and are great for walking and bicycle riding. As you stroll or drive through the neighborhood, you'll be able to see the evolution of over 50 years of development in the size and designs of the homes. It is almost without exception that every home owner in Vanstory Hills takes great pride in the neighborhood. Over the years, many children who have grown up in this neighborhood return as adults to purchase homes. Exiting the neighborhood from the front entrance left onto Morganton Road takes you easily to Cross Creek Mall and other shopping areas. Also, after the left turn out of the neighborhood, a right turn at the stop light of Morganton Road onto MacPhearson Church Road offers an abundance of restaurant choices. My favorite in this area of Fayetteville is locally owned Luigi's Italian restaurant. If you venture out of the neighborhood at the front entrance to the right onto Morganton Road, historic downtown Fayetteville is approximately 5 miles away. My favorite restaurant choice in this part of town is Antonella's. However, as MacPhearson Church Road, there are several very good restaurants and also beer taverns downtown. If you are looking for a Thai restaurant, the best is PJ's Thai Cuisine. It is very casual dining and can also be ordered online and delivered. If you choose PJ's, tell her Melanie sent you. Before she opened her restaurant and while I was working as an educator at Fort Bragg, I was her supervisor. She is an excellent person and she prepares delicious authentic Thai food. Upon your return from the downtown area on Hay Street, another locally owned favorite is LeClaire's General Store. Exiting the neighborhood from the back of the neighborhood is a quick drive to Harris Teeter and Publix grocery stores located on Raeford Road. And, to another local favorite restaurant: Chris's Steakhouse. Leaving my home, turn left from the driveway onto Northview Drive, then right at the first stop sign onto Mirror Lake Drive, right at the first road after the lake: Meadow Wood Road, then right at the next stop sign: Westview Drive, and right again at the following stop sign: McBain Drive. Go straight across the intersection at the stop sign to quickly arrive at Harris Teeter. Or left at the stop sign onto McPhee Drive to get to Raeford Road at the stop light. Turning right at this intersection will take you to Chris's Steakhouse on the right, Harris Teeter on the right, and about 1 mile on the right will be the Publix grocery store.

Hello, I’m Melanie Kimsey, the owner of 513 Northview Drive in the VanStory Hills Neighborhood in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I grew up in Fayetteville and have owned my home for 30 years. During the past 30 years, I’ve maintained and updated my home to ensure it is always in its best condition, as well as, to represent the quality standards of the VanStory Hills Neighborhood. The most recent renovations were completed in August 2020. I am retired from my career as an educator with the Department of Defense Education Agency and live in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I have decided to Airbnb rather than open my home for long term renters so it will be available for my use when I visit my family in NC. Also, due to the extensive renovations and refurnishing of my home, I want to ensure it remains in its current condition so it can be enjoyed for many years to come. I have three children that I’m very proud of and five grandchildren. My children and their families live in NC. I also have two sisters who live in Fayetteville. I hope you will enjoy your visit to Fayetteville and your stay in my home will be comfortable and relaxing. I have endeavored to create a lovely, welcoming house equipped with essential items to ensure you enjoy yourselves and will come again when your travels bring you to Fayetteville, NC. Please reach out to me at anytime before, during, and after your visit with questions, suggestions, and concerns if you have any. Welcome to Quiet Pines!
