The Space

Stay in the most romantic, safe and chic area of Paris, close to all major attractions, in a true parisian cosy "Pied-à-terre" located in a Directoire building (18th century), newly repainted (and wooden floor waxed).

First, to give you an idea of the ideal location, here are a few indications:

The building is located in the heart of the Antiquaire District, in the so chic "7th arrondissement", Rive Gauche.

The Seine river is at 1 minute s distance only and you can cross the river at the "Pont Royal" from where you have one of my favorite view of Paris:
l'île Saint Louis on your right and Grand Palais on your left, Orsay s museum on your back and Tuileries garden, created by Catherine de Medicis as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564, just in front of you, less than 5 minutes by walk.
Le Louvres Museum is also in this direction, again, less than 5 minutes by walk.

Orsay' s museum is just one block away (1 minute walk), you can actually see it from the balcony.

Saint Germain des Pres with its church, its "Cafe de Flore" and great restaurants and bars is only 10 minutes by walk.

The Quartier Latin, Place Saint Michel, Odeon and the Sorbonne University are 20 minutes by walk or so.

Concorde, Madeleine, opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayettes are about 20 minutes by walk but you can get the bus easily, just at the corner of the block.

The Champs Elysees starts at 20 to 25 minutes by walk from the studio, and you reach them through a nice walk hrough the Tuileries garden and the Concorde place.
You can also be there in 5 minutes with the tube (line 1) that you get at Tuileries station.

... and of course, la TOUR EIFFEL, 15 minutes by a direct bus, more or less 40 minutes by walk alongside the Seine river.

A taxi station is situated 100 metres.
Right around the corner on Rue du Bac, Bus 68 which leads you directly to the "Galleries Lafayettes", line 69 to "Hotel de ville" (the mayor house) and the "BHV" shop.
It is very easy to get the tube to go wherever you want to: line 1 (Tuileries), line 12 (Rue du Bac) and line 4 (Saint Germain des Prés) are only 5 to 10 minutes by walk.

Would you rather rent a bike? Use a "Velib'" at the station located 2 minutes from the flat, in Rue de Lille towards Orsay museum.

In a word: You re right in the middle of Paris, can't get a better situation to visit the city and take the most of it (see reviews)!

There is a very good baker round the corner for your morning "croissant" (KAYZER) and a "MONOPRIX" supermarket where you can buy everything you need.
You also have a very famous cheese shop (ANDROUET) round the corner, so come and experience walking out the bakery with the best baguette you can get in Paris and cross the street just to get the best cheese ever. It s just real life for us!:).

The Chic "Rue de lille" is typical of the "Rive Gauche" spirit: quite wealthy, calm, residential buildings mixing with official public buildings such as ministries, Matignon or Assemblée Nationale and offices buildings. It is located right in the middle of the Antiques district so no late bars or things like that. Only one chic Bistrot called "Bistrot de Paris" is at the building next door and it closed at midnight the latest. For party night, bars etc.. you d better reach the Saint Germain des Prés aréa for instance, which is very close.

After a busy day walking around Paris, come and relax in your true parisian "Pied-à-terre".

A newly repainted Hall dated from the "Directoire period" will leads you to the main building on your right. A badge will allow you to enter in and you will then have access to the lift (5th floor). The lift can be a little tricky sometimes, my advise is to not block the doors but if so, just press the "open button" and it opens.

The apartment itself is cosy, bright and clean. The Bathroom (shower, sink and toilet) is private.

It is well appointed with everything you need for a quick breakfast or a snack (see features below).

It is a true parisian "pied-à-terre", 18 metres square' s superficiy, fully furnished and equipped, with a small balcony from where you have a typical view on Paris roofs, and Orsay s museum s roof on your left.

The sofa bed is comfortable and new, adapted for a couple. It is a real, good quality matress and not a futon.

I always pay attention to make you feel at home.

Linen, towels and the duvet sheets are fresh, soft and comfortable.

It s a top priority for me to welcome you in a spotless space so I do pay attention to the housecleaning.

For winter times, there is an efficient electrical heater in the main room and an electrical towels dryer in the private bathroom.

As i leave in the same building, i am very approchable and i will do my best to make your stay easy and comfortable.

In addition, i offer a "table d'hotes" service for those who are intrested in sharing a true french dinner experience in our company., i am a very good cook, specialised in Bistrot type of food, and i d be happy to welcome you at our table with my husband Jeremy.

I myself love to travel and visit european cities during week ends. I am lucky enough to have experienced travelling as a bagpacker as well as in luxurous places.

I love to host people during their stay in Paris and I do pay a lot of attention that you spend a great time at our place. I have been hosting since spring 2012 and I have met great people since then.

Everybody agree to say that the place is cosy, romantic, clean and very well located.

Pictures you see have been taken from just outside the building (I ve been asked so I precise it here:)).

Common places have just been repainted in light grey and the wooden floor waxed. It is very clean and welcoming. In addition, the building itself is very safe as you need a code from oustide to enter the main hall, then a badge to enter the building itself. It s a building of 5 floors and the studio is located on the last floor, on the same level to where I live with my husband and daughter.

I would myself love to be a guest in the kind of place I rent if I was going to visit Paris or another european city like London for example, where I lived for 2 years. It is perfect if you want a cosy and clean place to rest after a day out in Paris, and be very close to all the major attractions Paris has to offer.

I am looking forward to meet you and give you helpful tips during your stay.

  • Everything was great! The studio is in a ---fantastic--- location (I walked to almost everything), very secure, and everything was incredibly clean. It's clear that Clarisse has gone above and beyond to make the apartment comfortable (for instance, there is even a hair dryer, which was much appreciated!). I felt very comfortable and at home. Even though she wasn't in town during my stay, she gave me clear direction on picking up the keys and returning them, and was available through Airbnb all the time. I hope to come back soon, and would very much look forward to staying here again and meeting her when I do! Thank you, Clarisse, for a wonderful stay.

  • Hi Clarisse,
First of all thank you very much for everything. We arrived to Paris about 23;00 but Clarisse wait for us, thank yuo very much.
Studio is clean, usefull everything you can find in studio. Place is wonderful, Louvre, D'Orsay, Notre Dame is very close. There are enough shops nearby as market, bakery. Train station is very close near the D'Orsay.
Clarisse and jeremy are very sempatique and very hospitality. They have lovely baby, we saying hello from Warsaw to her :))
Just one thing I can say negativelly, that is toilet is so noisy. Yhat's all.
Oned more time, thank you very much Clarisse, I hope see each other soon.

  • Great apartment in a perfect location with great hosts. Metro stops are just a 5 minute walk and the location is a couple blocks from the d'Orsay and the Louvre museums. The apartment is small, but well appointed, especially loved the little balcony. I would stay here again.

  • This very small but clean studio served us well during our one-week stay in Paris. A great location- we walked to the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter, and the Louvre among other attractions. The nearest metro station was about a five minute walk. We stopped by the grocery store Monoprix on our walk back from the metro. I would highly recommend this apartment if you want a quiet, clean place to sleep after a day of sightseeing and traipsing about the lovely city.

  • Me and my Fiancée stayed here for a long weekend, amazing location and amazing apartment! Would definitely recommend. Thanks Clarisse!

Hi my name is Clarisse. I usually work as a lawyer but now I m on maternal leave taking care of my baby girl who is now one. I lived in London for about 2 years, I also travelled through United States and lived in Boston for a few months. I have been living in Paris for more than 5 years.. I love Paris, especially since I live in the very center in the Antiquaire district, 5 minutes by walk from the heart of saint Germain des pres and only 1 minute from orsay s museum and le louvre. I often go to see exhibitions there and I love going to the theatre as well. I am a good cook, I love walking in Paris (I am very lucky cause I almost never take the tube since I live in the very town) and going out in Saint Germain des Prés. I also love escaping from Paris from time to time and going to the countryside or the seaside!. The only "bad" point about Paris is not being located on the seaside!... Maybe in the future, we ll go and experience living in San Francisco!
