Looking for an escape that's a little different and out of this world? Enter the authentic LunarPod @TheLostCorner experience! We are a unique outfit located 25 minutes from Big Bend National Park west entrance, and 25 minutes to Terlingua Ghost town.

Enjoy your own private 5 acres, a teardrop sleeper, private hot showers and flush toilet, high speed WiFi, 600 square feet of shade with a picnic table and outdoor kitchen.

1 tent welcome with up to 2 additional guests (extra fees apply)

The space
We have a scenic 5 acre lot nestled in the foothills of the Christmas Mountains, and we are a 25 minute stress free (and gorgeous) drive to the west entrance of Big Bend National Park (it is a BIG park and you will have to drive more once you have entered - do your homework and plan accordingly). You are the only one on the 5 acres.

Easily accessible with a standard 2wd vehicle.

Drive Times
Study Butte (gas): 18 minutes (on the way to BBNP)
Terlingua Ghosttown: 25 minutes
Cottonwood Grocer: 20 minutes (on the way to BBNP)
Big Bend National Park: 25 minutes to the west entrance

We are situated in a cool, eclectic neighborhood with easy access to paved roads. You will have the 5 acres all to yourself with a large driveway on a corner lot. Lots of amenities for outdoor lovers. We are located half a mile on a dirt road off of the main Terlingua Ranch road.

We DO have: High Speed WiFi, limited electricity (sufficient for computers, phones, TV), fans, lights, shaded porch, outdoor propane cooktop, kitchen sink, non potable water, flush toilet, propane wall heater in the bath house, shower capable of heating the water 45 degrees higher than the ambient outdoor temperature
We DO NOT have: Drinking water, a refrigerator, pots/pans, silverware, bed linens, towels, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, paper towels, heating in the pod, air conditioning after the sun starts to set (limitation of solar power - but if the sun is shining and you want an air conditioned nap - go for it!)

This is a self clean rental! Please do your part to keep this space super nice/clean and super affordable. We only charge a $10 fee to cover a property inspector (not cleaner) and trash takeout/disposal. In return, you will need to clean up after yourself. We provide instructions in the bath house. This is about 20 minutes worth of work and saves you a lot of money. Help us make this world a better place, and leave *everywhere* better than you found it.

You will need to bring your own towels/bedding/pillows/sleeping bags/blankets/septic safe toilet paper/paper towels/dishsoap/dishes/pots & pans/cleaning supplies/water/charcoal/etc... Think of this as glamping with a hard sided tent and private bath house. While we may surprise you with a few of those things provided, please do not assume any of them will be there. We provide a wonderful and comfortable space for your camping experience. You provide the rest.

Running on solar electricity, you will have red and/or white lights to choose from overhead to dimly light your relaxing outdoor space. Both are dark sky friendly so both you and all of your neighbors (far away) can enjoy the night sky.

The LunarPod has a brand new Full XL sized mattress 54” wide by 80” long (queen sheets fit best) with a custom made vinyl cover to keep the mattress clean. It is just big enough for 2 people to sleep in. There is no walking space in the camper; this is a teardrop sleeper camper.

We have USB outlets in the LunarPod, and hanging mesh bags for storing phones, glasses, or whatever else you may need to stash for the night. There is a shelf to store your bags. Overhead LED lights, and a ceiling vent fan.

There is a TV mounted in the LunarPod with a Firestick. Use your own Hulu or Netflix accounts to view your favorite TV shows or movies while chilling in your pod. Sorry, we don't provide technical support for the firestick or TV.

The LunarPod has doors on both sides - no crawling over your BFF to get to the door. Each door has a magnetic screen door, so when the weather is nice you can sleep with the doors open.

Bath House:
You will have a private bath house. Regular flush toilet (!) and a shower capable of heating the water an additional 45 degrees (outside temps need to be above ~50 degrees for hot water). NOTE: Please keep in mind the water heater can only heat the water 45 degrees higher than the ambient outdoor temperature. In cold months, we recommend timing your shower while the sun is up, and do not recommend taking a shower in the early mornings when the water is at its coldest. If the outside temps do not reach a suitable high, we recommend driving to the Terlingua Ranch Lodge for a free hot shower.

In the event of freezing temperatures, the outdoor kitchen will be winterized (water will be shut off) while the temps are too cold. This is to eliminate the likelihood of freezing pipes that will burst and drain all of our water reserves.

Since we operate on rainwater only and rain is rare and precious in the desert, we request that our guests limit their water usage by doing the following:
• Never let the water run when brushing teeth or doing dishes
• If it's yellow let it mellow (or go outside to pee)
• Limit showers to 3 minutes per guest per day
Water is not prevalent in the desert and the rains have not been favorable this year. Please help out the environment and exercise care when using water.

We charge a $10 cleaning fee which is for property inspection and trash disposal; guests are required to clean up after themselves and prepare for the next arrivals. This keeps the LunarPod budget friendly, but this means making sure there are no food particles in the kitchen sink, no toothpaste residue in the bathroom sink or on the mirror, cleaning the toilet, cleaning the shower area and getting rid of any hair in the shower drain. This is a 'pack it in, pack it out' rental. We do offer 1 trashcan and will dispose of your trash. Other than that, leave no trace and leave everywhere (not just the LunarPod!) better than you found it. This makes a better world for all (and we could all really use that right about now).
