Lovely penthouse at the best place!

Apartment - Private room · Biarritz, Mexico City, Federal District 06600, Mexico

The Space

You´ll be close from one of the most Beautifullest avenues in Mexico City with all kind of transportation to get anywhere you want, there is a subway station and buses at just one block away, taxis, bicycles, and the place you just will love it!

The room that I offer is not shared, it is spacious, quiet and well lit. There are blinds installed at the windows to cover the entrance of the sun so you can enjoy a good sleep. The bed is a queen size with clean and nice sheets. I do not accept extra (unconfirmed guests) or people to spend the night. The bathroom is shared just with me.

My apartment is always clean and tidy which makes it more welcoming and pleasant. There is wireless internet available and you can use the washing machine, the kitchen and the common areas of the apartment. I'm in 5th floor, the bedroom is on the 6th floor, but the elevator goes to the 4th floor. I can provide a set of keys (which i would ask for a deposit of $ 40dls.) So you can come and go freely.

My apartment is located close to many diferent restaurants, ATM's, pharmacies, convenience stores and supermarkets. The neighborhood is safe to walk and close to the trendiest neighborhoods in the city. Zona Rosa, Colonia Roma, Colonia Condesa and Polanco are very close. From my apartment you can walk to Paseo de la Reforma avenue in just 2 minutes.

  • I've been many times to Mexico City for business and stayed at hotels. This time I ventured to reserve a place via airbnb and was lucky enough to find this lovely studio. I really enjoyed the location, right on Zona Rosa on a quiet street far from all the noise and chaos of this very large city. Walking distance to many nice restaurants and a good walk (~4 km) to Polanco; Reforma, a couple of blocks away, is as always a nice walk with all the sculptures, gardens and monuments.

Luzma besides being an amazing host is a great human being with incredible spirituality. It was truly a pleasure staying at her studio. Highly recommend the place to anyone wanting to go to DF.

  • I felt that Luzma's penthouse apartment was a real gem and I am elated that I chose to stay there. Her home is beautifully appointed with several wonderful amenities, including a huge 'Florida Room' or inveranadero in Spanish. You can live outdoors in the comfort of her home. Flatscreen tv's, spacious rooms, comfy furniture and a lovely eat-in kitchen are some of the other details. Spiral staircases make for a sense of a secret hideaway or lend an air of sweet mystery.
The location couldn't be more convenient to a variety of activities available nearby on foot, or many mass transit options available a few blocks away. It couldn't be easier to navigate the city from Luzma's home.
Finally, and possibly the nicest amenity is Luzma herself. I found her to be lovely, warm and cheerful. From the first moments we met she opened herself up to me helping me to get acquainted with Mexico City and offering several wonderful suggestions and ideas for how to make the most of my stay in the city. Luzma is a consummate ambassador of Distrito Federal! Although our exchanges were brief, her warmth and joie de vivre is so beautiful that it is wonderfully infectious. I was able to acclimate easily with Luzma's help and enjoy a good laugh.
This apartment is a glittering diamond, rare for all the aforementioned reasons and not to be passed up!!

  • Both the house and the host are the best you can find in Mexico City! Luzma has decorated her spacious apartment with taste. The roof terrace is magnificent, a very nice place to relax from the excitement of this busy city. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is spacious, shower is warm and has good pressure (a rarity in Latin America). Use of kitchen and fridge. But the greatest asset of this private hotel is Luzma! She is friendly, relaxed and is a great source of information about the city and Mexican society. If you want, she will take you along in Mexican life. I had several memorable experiences that I would never have had without Luzma.

  • Luzma's place is beautiful. The apartment is very tastefully decorated, the bed is really confortable and having the possibility to hang out in the terrace makes a huge difference. I really enjoyed my time there, it felt like coming home after a busy day walking in the city. The apartment is also in a great location, only a block away from the metro station and a very short walk to the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods. The only drawback could be the small spiral staircase to access the house and the bedroom if you have heavy bags. But other than that, this is a great place to stay. Luzma is a great hostess with very good energy. She also gave me great recommendations of places and restaurants to visit. I look forward to the opportunity to come back to Mexico City and stay at Luzma's again!

  • So to start with the positives: The place is beautiful with lots of light. There is a nice outdoor area and big televisions in both the master bedroom and lounge area. You can see this from the photos. Luzma was a helpful person after my arrival with knowledge of the city and also helped me with grocery shopping.

Some negatives: Luzma is in the apartment practically all the time so I never felt like I had my own space. As it is a one bedder I assumed (to my own fault) that I would have that. I never felt I could really use the beautiful outdoor area because she was always there. Personally, I always felt in someone else's space. I really didn't like that when paying so much.

I misread the rules regarding visitors which eventuated in a run-in with Luzma. I took full responsibility for my mistake, and apologised to her numerously. However, in retrospect I feel that for this price it is not a good deal. For the same price (or even cheaper) you can get a nice private apartment in DF.

I would seriously consider these points before choosing this location.

About
I am a neat person, but I am also responsible and fun, I love cinema, theater, music concerts, art exhibitions, meditation, reading, dancing, socializing with friends and meeting new people. I love the culture so i could guide you to the most interesting places in Mexico. I prefer light and healthy food but still greatly enjoy Mexican food. I would love to visit India, Dubai, Japan, and taking a long trip to tour South America, from Guatemala to Patagonia.
