We live in the heart of McKinney’s Historic District. In addition to seeing the many older, picturesque homes in this area, we are a short 10 minute walk from McKinney’s Historic Downtown Square. Many of our guests enjoy the variety of restaurants, entertainment, and unique stores on the Square.
McKinney is 30 miles north of Dallas. Access to North Dallas is about a 25-30 minute drive on US75 or new tollways. We are long-time Dallas and McKinney residents, so we can assist guests with directions and suggestions for attractions, entertainment, restaurants, and shopping in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

The Cottage was perfect. Gary and Mary Jo made sure we had everything we needed and were genuinely concerned about our comfort.
We were very pleased and enjoyed our two week stay.
We feel blessed that we found this home away from home.
The location was so convenient to downtown McKinney and we would recommend it with out hesitation.
We really enjoyed staying here! The house was cute, quiet, clean, and comfortable - everything we were looking for that weekend. Gary and Mary Jo are very welcoming hosts who provided great food and shopping recommendations for the surrounding area. The house is located in McKinney's unique historical district, full of beautiful and well-kept old homes. We were also close to downtown McKinney, with plenty of local restaurants and shops to keep us entertained. We're looking forward to booking again next year!
Second visit to the bungalow. More amazing then the first; which was fantastic. Quiet, peaceful area of town. Wonderful long walks with wonderful views of Historic McKinney. Bungalow clean well maintained. Hosts fabulous, just the right amount of privacy, thoughtfulness and engagement.
There will be more visits
The bungalow was perfect for us. It is in a very quiet historical neighborhood of Victorian and turn of the century homes. The town square is about four blocks away, easy walking distance. The house is well equipped and comfortable. Mary Jo and Gary were excellent and helpful hosts. The bungalow is a good value and we plan to return in the Spring.
From the moment we stepped in the front door of this charming cottage, we felt at home. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Gary and Mary Jo made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed visiting on the front porch. We enjoyed walks around the historic neighborhood and to the quaint downtown area for shopping and eating out. The house is set back from the street and is very quiet. We have already made reservations for our next trip and look forward to staying in this little retreat.
We enjoy hosting guests in our fully updated 1920's arts & craft-style bungalow. Always enchanted with the historic district, we decided to move to the area after our children were "out of the nest." It is a beautiful neighborhood of older homes and large trees.
We enjoy the easy and short walk to McKinney's historic downtown square to dine in the many restaurants and shop at the unique stores. And we always invite friends and guests to relax on the large front porch of our main house. We can also recommend restaurants, sights, shopping and entertainment in McKinney and the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Please consider a stay at our guest cottage; you won't be disappointed!
