A wood burning stove in the sitting room, a well equipped kitchen, bags of character and a private terraced garden with views of the Creek. But also a very short drive from South Devon's loveliest beaches including Beesands and Blackpool Sands.
The cottage is in the village of Frogmore, a typical Devon village and one which has managed to hang on to its pub, the excellent Globe Inn just one minute's walk. Walk 50 yards in the other direction to reach the excellent local post office and bakery. The village is perfectly placed to reach the best South Devon beaches in just a few minutes drive including the award winning Blackpool Sands, Beesands and the beaches around Salcombe.
The cottage has a very snug sitting room with a wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and a TV. The large, well fitted kitchen has two separate seating areas for maximum flexibility. Upstairs there are 3 good-sized bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is ensuite.
There's a second reception room downstairs which is a den/family room. There's also a large downstairs cloakroom with wheelchair access.
Wifi has just been installed in this cottage along with electric storage heaters to supplement the wood burning stove.
The cottage has it's own private terrace. This is set up some steps about 40 yards from the house and is a great place to have a drink and relax with views across Frogmore Creek.
Previous guests have mentioned the Portlemouth passenger ferry where you can catch the ferry across to Salcombe without the parking nightmare that is Salcombe in high summer. However it's also worth exploring some of the wonderful hidden sandy coves (approached on foot) near Start Point. And while you're there pay a visit to the Pigs Nose, the wonderful old pub in East Prawle.
The cottage is quite close to the road, which is fairly busy during the peak summer weeks. However all rooms are double glazed so traffic noise is minimal.
There is private parking for 2 cars just behind the house.
Full access to everything.

Please leave the cottage clean and tidy, although of course we do send in professional cleaners after each visit.
Everything was as communicated, so while we didnt meet Ben, the cottage was just what we'd been looking for. We had some terrible weather while we were there (and some lovely days) but the cottage was warm and cosy as promised. The cottage is between a pub and a village bakery/shop, so we were only a couple of doors away from a pint in the evening, and breakfast goods the next day.
We'd love to come again.
The house was perfect for us, very comfortable and clean. Good location (the road is noisy if you need to open windows, but didn't really bother us) - near fantastic beaches and coast. The bakery is lovely and the Globe Inn was good. The Brittania @ Beesands served great seafood, and the Seven Stars in Kingsbridge also did very good food. Definitely recommend!
Ben was easy to deal with, answering emails promptly and providing all of the information needed.
As Australians we loved the cottage as it is a genuine Devon country-style home - quaint and cosy. The cottage is very well equipped with everything we needed on hand. With the Globe Inn two doors up and the bespoke bakery two doors down, catering was a breeze.
Lovely holiday cottage in a fantastic location. It is hard to understand 'Cozy yet spacious' until you step inside. In honesty, the pictures don't really do it justice, but there is plenty of room for everyone to relax in their own space. Ben gave us all the important information, the kitchen was well equipped and we had a nice pile of logs for the wood burner and beautiful fresh flowers on the kitchen table waiting for us upon arrival. Beds were comfy too. Would definitely come back.
Local area was fabulous, quiet and beautiful. There is a superb farm shop just before you get to Slapton Ley, we ate incredible seafood at Britannia @ The Beach at Beesands and a fantastic tour and climb up Start Point Lighthouse, all within 15 mins drive.
Despite the bad weather we had a great time at this lovely cottage. Thoroughly recommend the Globe pub and Brittania@The Beach for fish and chips at Beesands.
Ben very helpful and all went smoothly.

Director of a holiday cottage agency called West Country Lets in Devon. We specialise in hand-picked cottages and apartments in the South Hams and Devon areas.
I moved out of London in summer 2010 to Devon. Married with two teenage sons and in my spare time into cycling (on and off road), trail running. skiing and the occasional triathlon.
In the past I worked as a journalist & magazine publisher but more recently have run my own companies: a dating company, a travel company and now my agency.
I'm happy with lots of styles of travelling. I have particularly fond memories of cycle camping around Europe. But a bit of luxury can be good too.
