Welcome to Airport House at the Vinton County Airport (22I) drive in or fly in to our newly renovated 3 bedroom, two bathroom home. Any time is a great time to visit our area.
We are centrally located between Hocking Hills State Park, Ash Caves, Old Man's Caves, Lake Hope State Park and Moonville Tunnel. Relax on the front porch swing or build a fire in the fire pit out back and enjoy nature. Car rental can be arranged if you fly in.
The space
Airport House is centrally located between Old Man's Caves, Ash Caves, Rock House, Lake Hope, Moonville Tunnel in Hocking Hills Region and Zaleski State Park and directly across the road from Vinton County Airport (22India). For your safety you will find we observe the strict cleaning protocol for Covid-19. Aside from being very clean the home is set up to make you very comfortable while you are with us, we want you to enjoy staying us and confident that you aren't at risk for contacting Covid-19 while here.
We provide bed linen and bathroom linens, your toiletries except toothpaste and toothbrush. The kitchen is well stocked with necessary cooking and cleaning items and there's pods for you in case you need to do a bit of laundry.
And if you need anything that isn't there, just ask and we will make every effort to get it for you as our guests are important to us.
WiFi is very spotty because of our location, but in 'spots' in the home, it's pretty good.
You more than likely will see many deer both in the mornings and at dusk when they are freely roaming the area. And if you are into 'Birding' we've a lovely large variety of birds nesting in the woods behind the house and feeding at the bird feeders.
Guest access
The home has all the appliances including washer a dryer for your use. WiFi is spotty because of our location, but works well in much of the areas in the house. You have free use of the entire home except the basement, which is blocked off and is used for personal storage only. The fireplace isn’t working at this time, but we hope to have it cleaned and inspected soon. The airport is open 24/7 for you to visit and talk to anyone around. We have a car for use of pilots that fly in, there’s a charge for the use of the car.
Other things to note
Airport House has a fully equipped kitchen. If we’ve overlooked anything, just let us know and we will provide it immediately. There’s a dishwasher a washer and dryer. Additionally we'll make sure you have dishwashing detergent, dishwasher pods and laundry pods. Kitchen towels, and washing up cloths are also provided. There’s a limited amount paper products, but if there’s anything you need we will happily supply them. There will always be shampoo, cream rinse, lotion and soaps, bath tissue, coffee filters, paper napkins, trash bags and paper towels for your stay.
We will make sure you have coffee, an assortment of teas, half&half, and sweeteners. And for your convenience there will always be salt & pepper, oil.
Be assured that before you arrive we will make up your bedrooms with freshly cleaned and sanitized bed linens, and supply all your towels, hand towels and washcloths.
There are 3 bedrooms.
#1 Master bedroom with queen size bed. Has private bath with soaking tub.
#2 Queen bedroom, shared bathroom with Third bedroom.
#3 Captains bed with shared bathroom. Very comfortable.
#4 There’s a baby crib a PacknPlay and a very nice folding bed for that extra adult guest.
There’s two hairdryers and one magnifying makeup mirror, and a small first aid kit. Also a new high chair for the little ones.
Because of COVID-19 we are committed to making sure you are safe. We sanitize every surface including the beds both before and after we change the bedding. We use Clorox fabric spray to sanitize the mattress, curtains, sofas, chairs, all pillows, towels and all other fabrics in the home (eg. cloth napkins, placemats, tea towels and kitchen towels, and all cleaning cloths).

There is a $200 pet fee, per pet. We find our guests enjoy bringing their fur babies with them. Sometimes to save the pet from going to a Kennel and sometimes just because they want them along. Because we also have guests that are allergic to pet dander, we must have the home deep cleaned and this costs more.
