As an AIRBNB “Super Host” we invite you to our lovely studio named Rosa. It has a King bed that can be separated to make two Singles. The kitchen is fully equipped. On the back terrace is a sofa and dinette table. There is an outdoor barbeque and sink. Rosa is part of MONTE PLACIDO, a hilltop residence with beautiful gardens and spectacular ocean & mountain views. The residence of six Villas has an infinity pool. Shiva’s Cave Yoga studio is on site. We are minutes by car to nearby beaches.
For a couple or two singles, it is comfortable living in the spacious studio apartment. From the bed you can view a flat screen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with both stove and oven. There is a small café table for two indoors as well as the back terrace dinette table that seats four. The bathroom is large and spacious. From the front terrace you can sit and enjoy the beautiful ocean and garden view. The price shown is for two guests. If you are only one person please contact us for special pricing.
Guests on Monte Placido have access to the beautiful infinity pool. The pool is shared but yet very private as most guests are at the beach during the day. The pool deck has a barbeque and two separate dining and lounging areas. Inside the pool you will find a shallow area for children and a deep place for swimming. Guests love to hang on the side where the water cascades, look out over the ocean and enjoy a cool drink after a day of beach exploring. Guests on Monte Placido also have free access to Shiva’s Cave Yoga Studio which is on site. It is a marvelous place for your personal workout or we can arrange for a private yoga lesson. Under the pool cabana is our massage room. You can book a one hour massage for US $35 dollars. Guests will also enjoy free membership at the Las Terrenas Sailing Cub.

Monte Placido is on a hill top, about 15 minutes from the town of Las Terrenas and 5 minutes to the nearest beach. The residence is gated and in a pastoral setting. We love it because you get the feel of being in the Dominican Republic and among the charming and friendly people.
There is a bus stop in walking distance, at the bottom of our hill where it intersects the main road. You can get public transportation to the town of Las Terrenas. You can also get a bus,
Transporte Las Terrenas, three times a day that travels to and from Santo Domingo. The bus stop in Santo Domingo is only a 10 minute taxi ride to the airport.
Other Things to Note
Your reservation includes a breakfast set up for your first morning of coffee & tea, milk & sugar, cocoa bread, butter & jam. Many travel weary guests would like a welcome meal upon arrival. Please inquire. Maid service, sheets and towels are provided at no extra charge. We have a caretaker and his wife that live on site. Jeanette is available to hire to do some basic cooking, your laundry, and babysitting. Jean Claude speaks some English and is available to help with whatever you need. A watchman works every evening (except Sunday) and during the day on weekends. Monte Placido has a big generator that comes on automatically when the power goes out and will provide electricity to your rental home. Please remember to take the driving directions along with you even if you plan to take a taxi from the airport.
Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you would like a welcome meal upon arrival (additional cash payment). Many travel weary guest find it a relief not to go back out to eat once they arrive. Your home rental includes a complimentary set up of coffee/tea, milk, coco bread butter & jam for your first morning. Pets are allowed in Villa Magnolia and Gardenia because they have fenced in yards. Additional charge of $25 dollars for your pet payable in cash upon arrival.
Don and Diana moved to the Dominican Republic 12 years ago. Don grew up in Paris, France and Diana on Long Island, New York. We married in 1999 and moved to the Dominican Republic in 2002. We built Monte Placido and the six houses as a family residence. In 2011 we began our rental home business. Diana enjoys yoga. She organizes yoga retreats in what we call SHIVAS's CAVE. When Don is not gardening he goes sailing.
