Interaction with Guests
We live in the house and we will be here to welcome you. We are happy to interact as much or as little as you wish. We have sat for hours with some guests chatting away but we also understand that some guests like their privacy and we respect that also.
Our house is accessible from the road (B9006) to Culloden Battlefield and the street backs on to adjacent farm land. There are stunning views to the North across the city, the Kessock Bridge and the mountains beyond.
There is good access to public transport with a regular bus service to Inverness city centre which has an extensive choice of restaurants and shops. The bus stop is a 3/4 minute walk from our house. There is a large convenience store and food takeaway / chip shop nearby and a large supermarket 3 miles away, en route to the city centre. Culloden Moor Inn and Restaurant, the Battlefield and the Visitor Centre are less than 5 mins away by car.
Other Things to Note
We have a small lovable Shi Tzu dog and a Birman cat. They do not have access to guest bedrooms.
If you have specific questions, please feel to ask at any time.
None, other than to please treat our house as you would treat your own.
You stay in a beautiful home with a gorgeous view of Moray Firth and enjoy sumptuous breakfasts, but that's not the best part if your stay. The best part is the warmth, welcome, and caring you feel from your hosts. Be sure to get to know them, they will make you feel like family.
We had a wonderful stay and Margaret was an excellent host.
Nothing was too much trouble and we would have liked to have stayed longer.
We highly recommend this stay and no one will be disappointed.

I don't think there are enough kind, beautiful words I can use to describe Margaret and Calum. When you are traveling very far from home like I was, you can't underestimate how much it matters to find people who make you feel like family on your journey. This is how Margaret and Calum made me feel. They were immediately warm and welcoming from my arrival to my departure. I could see that they wanted to be sure to give their guests space if that is what they wanted, but were also attentive and conversational when they saw that their guests were welcoming to that.
The room I stayed in was not only clean and tidy, but beautifully decorated and presented with lovely throw pillows on the bed and an electric tea kettle with cups and tea/coffee on a side table. The bathroom was en suite and very clean and seemed to be brand new. There was also a closet with hangers so I could hang up a couple of things - this goes a long way when you're traveling out of a suitcase!
They have a lovely sitting room for guest use with an amazing huge window that you can look out of, and I would sit there in the evenings to plan my next day of sight seeing. Margaret would turn on the fire for me or ask if I wanted some tea, it was lovely.
The location of their home is picturesque, exactly where you would want to be for a holiday in the Highlands.
Thanks again Margaret and Calum!
Awesome & lovely place in Inverness! The couple (Margaret & callum) were so hospitable! Oh my! Really think our stay was too short! We really love this place. Really feels like home. Or I should say, Margaret really made us feel homely! Their cute dog bendy is friendly too! If we were to come bk again, we will definitely choose this place again!
It's probably hard to beat Margaret as a host: Her house is beautiful and has a stunning view on the Highlands. The rooms are furnished very tastefully. Margaret and Calum gave us a warm welcome and were extremely friendly and courteous. The breakfast was our personal highlight (salmon and fresh fruits!), our tea was served with a crown-shaped tea cosy :) We totally recommend Margaret and Calum as hosts if you're planning to visit Inverness. Thanks so much!

About the Host, Margaret
I am Margaret and I am renting out a few rooms I have available in my property in Inverness, Scotland. We have named our house Fasgadh, which is Gaelic for haven or shelter (my husband Calum and I are both native Gaelic speakers) and we strive to provide a safe and comfortable haven for all of our guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to Fasgadh!
