My "Peaceful Secluded Berkshire Setting" listing has a pillow-top double bed mattress with the first floor bathroom very close by.
With either bedroom choice, the bathroom will be for your private use, since our bathroom is upstairs. Your bathroom has a separate shower, tub, heat lamp, exhaust fan, and an adjoining room with toilet and sink.
There are foam mattresses and blow-up mattresses available for either room. Both rooms have hard wood floors, new windows, dressers and closet space.
The house is home to two beautiful cats. I have had people stay in the house who are allergic to cats, but with their basic medication have done fine. The house is meticulously cleaned and vacuumed before any rentals, but if anyone in your party is super allergic to cats, they may react to some of the dander inherent in a house where cats live.
Unlimited use of entire first floor with private bathroom. Cook breakfast, store goods in refrigerator, make some tea, relax in grand open room, build a fire, play the spinet piano, or browse our extensive libraries. Enjoy our backyard, patio area, fire pit. Walk in our woods or sit on the bench at our pond. Free parking.
Interaction with Guests
We live here, so we always try to greet our guests in person upon arrival and departure, in addition to our phone calls and emails before arrival. We often make breakfast for our guests and enjoy chatting over a cup of tea or after our guests return from their adventures.
Pleasingly quiet and secluded, yet fairly close to neighbors in our rural setting. We enjoy watching and listening to the birds at our feeders, noticing the deer and turkeys traveling through our yard and woods, listening to the seasonal serenade of the frogs peeping, and the owls hooting. Go outside and enjoy nature- it is at your service.
Plenty of free parking on site and vehicles must be used to transport to and from train or bus stations or highways or airport. Use our bikes, canoe or kayak for recreational travel!

Serene and beautiful indeed. Becky's place was just as advertised. I especially enjoyed the generous view from the bathroom shower over an expanse of snow-covered winter wonderland. Swinging in the chair hammock took a close second! We stayed with Becky during a last-minute ski weekend, and the accommodations worked out perfectly. Becky and Bob were wonderful hosts, friendly and interesting, we enjoyed our conversations over coffee and felt comfortable and welcome. Thank you!
We were warmly welcomed by Becky and Bob, the house was clean, our room was nice and tidy, we had our own bathroom and were able to use the kitchen and living room. The nearby hike was nice and Becky had many good reccomendations for fun activities. She also made us a wonderful breakfast!
My wife and I rented a room in Rebecca's house for the July 4th weekend.
The description of listing is accurate. The house is conveniently located not far from major Berkshire attractions. Rebecca and her husband were very helpful and instrumental to make sure we have quality time during our vacation. Rebecca's traveling experience and knowledge of the region were a great asset to us. The breakfast was tasty and generous.
We have decided not to rent our two rooms to two different parties, so this should not be a problem in the future. But we would be happy to rent the two rooms to people who are traveling together and do not mind sharing a bathroom. And we are in the process of getting a new bed.
Ceci's attempt at the review came to us as private feedback and nothing showed up in the public review. Here are her comments:
Becky, I was very comfortable in your home. I can't think of any way you could improve the accommodations. You and Bob were attentive without being overbearing. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Ceci"

About the Host, Rebecca
I am a retired elementary school teacher with grown children who live in NYC. My home is available as a B and B or as a full house rental. I love hostessing and sharing my home with others. I love making people feel comfortable and helping them take advantage of this area.
I have spent much of my life traveling. I have spent a year in Mexico and Guatemala and a year in Ecuador. I have traveled to most of the US states, to Europe and Israel. I hope to get to Africa and Asia before I die. I usually stay at hostels because I enjoy meeting other people. In another life I would like to run a youth hostel. This could be the next best thing.
I am an outdoor enthusiast and particularly like hiking, swimming, bicycling, kayaking and gardening. When I am feeling down, it is usually because I haven't had enough time outdoors.
I play the clarinet with the Eagles Band in Pittsfield, Ma.
I have lived in this home for 30 years. I currently live with my boyfriend and 2 cats. Presently I work for the Berkshire Immigrant Center and for Common Good Finance, an organization creating an alternative, local economy.
