  • The best thing about this place is the huge outdoor deck and proximity to good eats and beaches. It really felt like summer here. We would have stayed on the deck all night if weather permitted. We enjoyed a morning pastry at the bakery next door, then a walk to the impressive Boony Doon beach across the street. Days were spent at the Boardwalk, Pigeon Pt lighthouse, and Big Basin, and were concluded with serene sunset dinners on our deck. When the kids are older, the proximity to Ana Nuevo is also a plus. The place was clean and Michael was very helpful. The only confusing thing was that the site stated 1.5 BR's and included photos of both the main rental plus the smaller adjoining rental next door so I was under the impression that there was a separate small room for the kids. Instead we made the LR a permanent "BR" for the kids with the pull out sofa. Everyone slept fine.

  • Michael was a great host! He was easy to get ahold of for questions that I had. The house is gorgeous, and it came with the kitchenware that our group needed. The location is nice and secluded, which gives off a great intimate vibe.

  • Michael was easy to work with. We had no problems with the reservation and the rental was what we expected. It was great to be right across from the ocean with lots of good space in the beach house. I would certainly go back.

  • We had an awesome time at Michaels place!!! Even though we didn't get to meet Michael in person since he was outta town we had an awesome time hanging out with one of his friends who also showed us around and helped us out whenever possible. (However, communication with Michael via phone was flawless!). The place was really cute and big enough for us 5. We sat around the firepit for hours before going to bed and the beach right in front of the house is spectacular (even by night! :D ). Right next to his place is a lovely cafe and a small store where you can get everything you need. Santa Cruz is 10-15 minutes away and easy o reach. We'd love to stay at that beautiful house again.

  • Michael's communication during and following the booking process were flawless. He answered all my questions accurately and efficiently. When we rolled into Davenport he and his friendly demeanor were there to greet us and get us settled.
Besides being a great host, the laid back little community of artists, singers, and poets that seems to gather around Michael and his place is both peaceful and an experience in and of itself. Once we were unpacked and settled in front of the firepit on a starry night, an impromptu concert unfolded around us.
The little town that surrounds has just about anything you might have forgotten at home and the beach across the street is stunning. If you are looking for something a little fun and funky that's just off the beaten path, make a beeline to Studios 480 Villas in Davenport, CA!

About
Hey there folks, my name is Michael. I operate a small villa with a front private house , a one bedroom bungalow in the back and other side studios, some self contained and others with shared bath and kitchen. We usually have an eclectic type of person that stays here, mostly artists, musicians, and alternative, progressive thinkers. These interesting people are drawn to this electric area maybe because we have giant redwood trees behind us and the Pacific Ocean in front of us. I live here and it's my job to make sure everyone is happy. Some nights the whole place will be full of travelers eating together, playing music, and telling story. Other nights a quite family of four arrives just to get away from the New York winter. In Davenport with a population of three hundred you get to know everybody quick. The local pub and bakery have two community events every week its quite a hoot. I'm 40 and love the area , born and raised in these hills and know every great hiking trail, every great surf spot, every great and marvelous thing to do and see in this area. We have a fun basket of toys and game equipment thats been donated by travelers and has accumulated over time , so we have wet suits and surf boards to frisbees and golf clubs. My days are full tending to the traveler and everyday I'm grateful to have the opportunity to share with people the villa space and all the beautiful things this area has to offer. This has taken almost half a life time to attain. I have traveled the world and lived in other places but I always find myself back in the Santa Cruz area. I know it, love it, and have this great job of sharing it. If anyone out there wants the front line tour, I can accommodate or if you just choose a cozy private night by the fire i can accommodate that. Like the beat of the ocean outside the villa, we march to our happy places that pull us away from our everyday grind, and I believe, this is the marching grounds for peace, happiness, well being, and adventure.... see ya soon Michael
