The house was very clean and we had all the amenities of home. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and convenient.
We had the pleasure of being able to use Michael's home for labor day weekend. The location was perfect and Davenport did not get as crowded as one would think during a holiday weekend. The home is right across the street from the ocean and was so comfy. It was the perfect little getaway spot. Michael was very good at keeping in communication with us. Highly recommended home.
Lovely location away from the crowd but easy access to the action. Couldn't ask for a more scenic location, dined next door at the Roadhouse, watched the sunset and dolphins play across the street and then returned to relax and visit with friends on the large outdoor deck. Private and quiet
My family and I loved staying at Michaels place. It was our home away from home. Staying there we went to the Montara Bay Aquarium, Hearst Castle, visited a local berry farm, kayaking in Santa Cruz, and enjoyed the beautiful beach right in front of his house. In addition to all that goodness all the employees at the local store in davenport were so nice too. The whole trip was a blast, and we didn't want it to ever end. I highly recommend Micheals place!
My husband and I loved our stay at Michaels beach house. There was so much space, very comfortable and everything you might need. It was one of the highlights of our west coast trip. Everything was as described in the listing. Following a wonderful breakfast a few doors down, we enjoyed relaxing on the beach across the street and watching sea lions and dolphins frolic just off shore. For a stop down the coast you can't beat the location. If we're ever in the area again, we would definitely return. Thanks, Michael! Susan & Robb
Wow. Literally right across the street from the beach. What a great location. There are numerous places to eat literally right outside and its a very short drive from Santa Cruz. It was so relaxing. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We loved our stay at Michael's home! It was very clean and eclectic. We didn't enjoy hearing the Hwy 1 traffic at night (we had to keep the windows open during the evening for cool air) but that was our only dislike. We wish we could've arrived earlier to take advantage of the beach across the street and catch the sunset. We had breakfast at the nearby cafe and it was as delish as everyone says.

About the Host, Michael
Hey there folks, my name is Michael. I operate a small villa with a front private house , a one bedroom bungalow in the back and other side studios, some self contained and others with shared bath and kitchen. We usually have an eclectic type of person that stays here, mostly artists, musicians, and alternative, progressive thinkers. These interesting people are drawn to this electric area maybe because we have giant redwood trees behind us and the Pacific Ocean in front of us. I live here and it's my job to make sure everyone is happy. Some nights the whole place will be full of travelers eating together, playing music, and telling story. Other nights a quite family of four arrives just to get away from the New York winter. In Davenport with a population of three hundred you get to know everybody quick. The local pub and bakery have two community events every week its quite a hoot. I'm 40 and love the area , born and raised in these hills and know every great hiking trail, every great surf spot, every great and marvelous thing to do and see in this area. We have a fun basket of toys and game equipment thats been donated by travelers and has accumulated over time , so we have wet suits and surf boards to frisbees and golf clubs. My days are full tending to the traveler and everyday I'm grateful to have the opportunity to share with people the villa space and all the beautiful things this area has to offer. This has taken almost half a life time to attain. I have traveled the world and lived in other places but I always find myself back in the Santa Cruz area. I know it, love it, and have this great job of sharing it. If anyone out there wants the front line tour, I can accommodate or if you just choose a cozy private night by the fire i can accommodate that. Like the beat of the ocean outside the villa, we march to our happy places that pull us away from our everyday grind, and I believe, this is the marching grounds for peace, happiness, well being, and adventure.... see ya soon Michael
