Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Cozy log cabin on 40 private wooded acres with a south facing wall of windows to enjoy looking at the outdoors. Its off the beaten path, but five miles from the recreational hub of Hatfield, WI and the Black River Forest. We offer a private cabin for up to 4 guests. South Enjoy the outdoors: hiking, canoe/kayaking, ATVing, XC and downhill skiing, hunting, fishing, mountain biking etc.

The space
You have access to our entire guest cabin which is located above our garage: 2 bedrooms, full bath, kitchen and great room as well as your own second floor deck with a table ,umbrella, and 4 chairs. In floor radiant heating and central air. This cabin is separated from our house by a 50' skywalk.

Guest access
When looking from the cabin deck towards the end of the driveway there is an outdoor area with a picnic table, Weber 22 inch charcoal grill, and fire pit to use. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

Other things to note
Please note that the space is not handicap accessible (requiring stair to enter the cabin). Also, cell service could be an issue with some providers. There is also no television. You will have WiFi access via our satellite internet.
For those bringing ATV trailers - the driveway can make for a tight turn around. Most disconnect the trailer, turn it around by hand so that it is facing out for later departure.

Neighborhood highlights

We are in the woods! Away from it all - About 6 miles from Hatfield, WI and Lake Arbutus - our property is surrounded by public land. Our nearest neighbor is half a mile away. There are rustic trails to stroll through the woods. The East Fork of the Black River is within walking distance (does not provide access to Lake Arbutus by anything other than canoe or kayak - shallow with small rapids). Enjoy hiking, canoeing, hunting and coming home for a campfire. Levis mound is a hidden mountain biking gem.

We especially enjoy hiking, skiing, biking and canoeing and can suggest areas nearby for your own recreation. My wife is an animal lover (we have a dog and a cat). We have two college age children.
