Interaction with Guests
Feel welcome and free to relax from the moment that you arrive-This is my home and I am usually present during your stay, I have lived in London for over 30 years and know it pretty well, its a huge and wonderfully diverse city, feel free to ask for tips on travel or places of interest.
My area is an up and coming bohemian suburb with great transport links to the centre of town, one of the best features of London is that every area has its own feel and lots to offer-Here in southeast London you are never far from a park, a cosy pub, coffee shops or the local markets- There is a strong community feeling and I always feel safe walking from my home to the station or around the area at night. I can recommend several bars and restaurants in walking distance if you feel to stay local. We are close to Brixton (20 mins by bus ) if you are looking for live music, bars and a diverse multi cultural night life. Victoria 20 mins by public transport ( for Buckingham Palace) and connections to the west end for shopping etc. London bridge 20 mins by public transport ( for Borough market, Shakespeares Globe and the Tate Gallery) The Southbank, The National Theatre, The London Eye etc.
Situated in a quite residential street, there is free on street parking available. We are 5 mins walk to Gipsy Hill station, we are in zone 3.
3 stops to Balham for your connection to the Northern line if you feel to travel by tube, or 20 mins directly into Victoria or London Bridge stations.
London is a cluster of small towns and villages making up one city, every area has its own feel and reasons to visit.

I have one cat Billy, he is very cool, quite a character. If you respect him, he will return the compliment.
Our experience while staying with lorraine was great! we stayed for 2 nights, Lorraine and billy were very welcoming and helpfull we chatted for a bit and told us a few things to do in London! we highly recommend this place if your headed to London!
Lorraine is an amazing host and made me feel really welcome (despite me running late). Her place is a lovely garden flat, on a quiet road, just a few minutes from Gipsy Hill station - so really handy for getting into central London but far enough away to feel like you've escaped the bustle!
The neighbourhood is leafy and safe and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within ten minutes walk. The room itself is a good sized double (by my standards at least), with a comfy bed and all the usual bits you'd expect - I couldn't have asked for more really.
Thanks Lorraine! :)
Wie had a very nice time staying with Lorraine! Our late arrival wasn't a problem for her at all and we felt very welcomed! Our room was comfortable, nicely done up and with love for detail! Getting to central London was easy with the direct connection to Victoria station and London Bridge (both rides took about 25 minutes). From Gipsy Hill station it took us less than 5 min by foot! Lorraine is a very charming host and helped us with plannig our day trips to the city. She provided us with a simple but tasty continental breakfast! We enjoyed using her kitchen for dinner and recovering in the living room! We can recommend staying with Lorraine definitively and will stay with her the next time we will travel to London again!
Lorraine was a really good host. Since the first time, she made us feel pretty good. She helped us a lot providing information about a wide range of things that we could do there. Lorraine is an outgoing person and it is easy to speak with her about everything.
The neighborhood is peaceful and well connected, it takes a short time to get to the city center.
Bill, her cat, is lovely!! And the house is comfy and pleasant.
Without any doubts, I will reapeat again!!
Staying with Lorraine was incredible to say the least. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about London and many other things. Her flat is beautiful and comfortable. If I ever travel to London again I would for sure try to stay with her again. Also her cat Bill is a very fine and well behaved gentleman.
Lorraine is a hospitable host! As we arrived her flat so late, she welcomed us with big smile and herbal tea, and she set the heater for the morning otherwise I did not know about this before it starts. Her flat's interior is very good sense, and we could be relaxed! Unfortunately we did not have enough time to chat with her, that's the only thing I am sorry for,but it's because my schedule! I reallly reccomend her flat if you want to stay relaxing!
Staying at Lorraine's place was great! She was a wonderful host. She gave us tips on places to go and using transportation. The place was cute and clean, just as the pictures were. The house is an hour bus ride from the city center, but close to the train station if you want to use it. She provided breakfast, coffee and tea.
