I had a wonderful stay with JJ and Andy. They are the best hosts, very caring and interesting. I felt like home and they were my parents :D JJ and Andy shared interesting stories to me and my friends. We are all very happy that we made the choice staying in JJ's. The room I stayed was really comfortable and cozy. It's very beautiful. I love the color and the style. It's clean and neat. JJ brought flowers in the room with a little vase which made my day. I enjoyed cooking in her kitchen and the swing chair in front of the house was one of my favorite spots to get tan and enjoy my reading. I stayed 3 weeks and I can not stop complimenting this beautiful house. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. I will definitely recommend JJ's place and will return again :)!!!
I cannot recommend JJ and Andy enough. I came down to OC to do an internship and have had a top to bottom incredible experience staying with them. They are friendly and open, keep a beautiful and comfortable home, and are more than willing to help with anything their guest might need (from figuring out how to cook new foods to sharing their home-grown veggies). I love hanging out in the backyard, swimming in the pool, and sleeping with my windows wide open to let in the warm Southern California breeze. The neighborhood is calm and quiet, with easy access to both downtown San Clemente and San Juan, and great trails to run and bike. Awesome experience, highly recommended.
I had such a wonderful stay with JJ and her family in San Juan Capistrano. I stayed for a month but it went too fast.
JJ, Andy and Sara were incredible hosts, very kind, fun and flexible.
The house is spacious and very well designed, in a very quiet neighborhood and many of my friends live very close!
The room is exactly how it's describe, very clean, comfortable and you can find everything you need in the house.
As a surfer, i've found a perfect location: a short drive to Doheny, Salt Creek, Trestles, San Onofre… Otherwise, i really enjoyed the city center of San Juan Capistrano around the beautiful old mission…
To make it shorter, i warmly recommend the area, the house and the hosts!
I stayed with Judith and Andy for a few days while on a business trip in SoCal and it couldn't have worked out better for me...location was perfect (point of equidistance between San Diego and LA) home was beautiful and room was exactly what I required (especially the large desk/work area). I also enjoyed our conversations re: tennis, European travel and our respective lines of work. I will no doubt be back on my next business trip to SoCal...thanks again Judith and Andy.
Was a pleasure - Judith's daughter Sara stayed up to greet me as I had a very late arrival (past midnight). The room was clean and quiet, and very comfortable. Judith met me the next morning, and despite my rush to get out, I spent 30 minutes chatting with her as she is a warm/friendly person with a lot of interesting things to talk about. I definitely felt as if I was treated like a relative!
I really enjoyed my stay with JJ and Andy. Their home is warm and friendly and just the kind of place I needed for my travels.
what can i say.... it was fantastic house, with a fantastic garden, and a pool with jacuzzi, the room was very clean, well decorated and super comfy .
i felt more than at home. i will come back .
JJ and Andy (her husband) are wonderful people all around. JJ is a gifted photographer and Andy, an architect. Warm, friendly, fun and outgoing - you feel as though you've known them forever! They are a dynamic, well-traveled couple who truly enjoy meeting new people, which is what makes them superb AirBnB hosts.
They have a nice home with a pool and yard set in the hills of San Juan Capistrano (close to Dana Point and San Clemente). It is about 2 miles from the train station and all the old restaurants and cafés. Speaking of which, JJ is full of excellent recommendations of things to see and where to eat - Ramos House is divine!
But what made my stay the best, were all the nice little touches JJ added: glasses of sorrel (amazing Jamaican drink!!) a basket of towels, French press coffee made in the morning, breakfast cereals, fruit and yogurt aplenty, and the freedom to do laundry (even though, I didn't end up needing to)!
Thanks for a great stay!
Judith, Andy and Sarah are not only a very nice and welcoming family, they are also very well-traveled, smart and needless to say, very interesting and easy to talk to and spend time with.
I needed to stay in SJC only for one night, and they took me in with open arms. Judith was very easy to deal with - honest, clear and very communicative.
Their sunny, adobe-style house is beautiful to say the least. Spacious, modern, and pristine. The room I stayed in was perfect for my needs. They provided me with everything I needed including a comfortable bed, a closet, a clean bathroom with shower, toiletries, among other commodities. I remember saying to myself before going to bed, "Wow, they thought of everything!"
The next morning I was received with a delicious, healthy breakfast, good conversation and company, time to watch the Eurocup game on their big screen TV (crucial!), and last but no least some good ol' fashioned hang out time at their very own Jamaican-style outdoor poolside bar appropriately dubbed "Jah's Love Shack". After my first Rum with sorrel I didn't wanna leave.
I only stayed for one night and my experience was outstanding, and I'm pretty sure the girl who is renting one of their other rooms on a monthly basis has the same feedback I do. If I ever find myself back in SJC, I'll definitely get in touch with Judith.
Bottom line: This is what Airbnb is all about.
I had such a GREAT weekend thanks to JJ and her wonderful family who accommodated me in their beautiful home. My plane got delayed the evening I was to arrive and I couldn't get to JJ's house until really late (almost midnight). Despite the late night, JJ and her husband waited up for me and were so welcoming when I finally arrived. Having such warm, friendly faces to greet you is really special and I appreciated it so much.
The rest of the 3 days that I stayed with JJ were equally wonderful as that first greeting. My room was situated on a corner of the house and had 2 big windows to see over the backyard and out onto a lush forest behind. At night, I opened the windows to allow for a cool breeze and could hear a symphony of frogs outside. The natural music put me to sleep instantly, not to mention a really comfortable bed and decorated room with JJ's exceptional photography (she is an AMAZING photographer and you get to see some of her work because it decorates some of the house). The room was also very private with a big closet and the bathroom immediately outside the room.
They provided exceptional hospitality including tons of breakfast options, a plethora of delicious tea/ coffee options and late night snacks.
Next time I'm in San Juan Capistrano, I hope to stay again with JJ and her family! They are the kindest people who make you feel right at home. I would recommend this home-away-from-home to anyone.
