Efficiency Apt in Capitol Hill

Apartment - Entire home/apt · E St, Washington, DC 20002, United States

The Space

Welcome to the nation's capital--we love it here and we want to help you enjoy it too!
The Space:
New Queen size bed with clean sheets/duvet cover/towels for each new guest.

A spacious efficiency, basement apartment complete with a private bathroom, mini-fridge, microwave and keurig. Ever go traveling, eat at a great restaurant and be bummed you have no place to stash your leftovers...we have...so we thought the mini-fridge would be nice for you. We'll stick some drinks in there for when you arrive, and a few snacks to get you going. Tea and instant coffee? Yes, you'll have that too.

The location:
We have a beautiful corner lot row house in NE Capitol Hill, a few blocks from the budding H ST NE neighborhood ((website hidden)) close to multiple bike share racks (one block to the closest (website hidden)) about a mile/2km to the Capitol building, Union Station, and Eastern Market, respectively

Who we are:
Adam and Jen are your hosts. Adam works a government job by day and makes custom hardwood furniture by night and weekend ((website hidden)); Jen is a Physician Assistant by day and has built a beautiful garden in our yard, sews, and does all sorts of crafty things. Our dog, Britta, l(phone number hidden)es people; but if you don't love dogs, we can arrange to ensure she doesn't get in your way.

What else you should know:
Adam's woodshop is adjacent to the room...don't worry, he doesn't work too late (not past 8pm, not before 10am, and often not even with noisy power tools). Besides, we added some sound proofing to the adjacent wall. We can work out arrangements if you have particular sensitivities or needs on this front.

Other amenities:
We have wireless internet (password provided upon check in); there is a TV and a Roku player for streaming Netflix/Pandora in the room...but we do not have cable, just a few network channels

If you're driving, let us know and we can work out a parking pass, or perhaps put you in our space (if you have a small car).

The washer/dryer are just through the door into our basement...if you need to use them, we can arrange that.

Fresh towels will be in the bathroom for you at arrival

Shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/hairdryer are located under the sink in the bathroom

If you have questions about availability just send us a quick note!

  • The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and pleasant. The fridge had refreshments and there were snacks and helpful brio hires from the DC area. The location was central and easy to get around. We met Jen who was informative and make sure we were all set.

  • Nice neighborhood; clean, simple, comfortable, quiet room with immaculate bathroom. Very straightforward, fast answers to questions, all good.

  • It has been a very warm welcome, although I've arrived quite late. Adam showed me everything and gave me some sightseeing tips. He also showed me his garage, where he does his handcrafted furnitures. Unfortunately I didn't meet Jen, but I highly recommend this place to everybody. Thanks for having me... See you next time in Washington.

  • This was my fiance and I's first experience with airbnb. We had a great trip. Jen welcomed us and got us all settled. They were both easily accessible and even gave us ideas about romantic restaurants in the area. The room was clean and even better than the pictures. It was a better experience than any hotel we have been in. All the personal touches like the complimentary snacks and drinks and the little chocolates by our bed when we arrived were beautiful touches. I highly recommend this place!

  • I had a great stay at Jen & Adam's efficiency apartment! The neighborhood is very nice, quiet and near to the national mall. I had my own entrance to the apartment and a short walk to the next supermarket and to the next bike share station.
I would stay here always again.
Thank you Adam and Jen for my great Washington, D.C. vacation

  • Love this place! The access, the driveway, the neighborhood! Jen was awesome, and I would definitely stay here again!

  • Outstanding! That absolutely says it about Adam and Jen. The place is exactly as described and Adam and Jen go out of their way to welcome you and to do whatever they can to make your stay wonderful. Even when they were away, Jens' parents filled in wonderfully well. The apartment is cozy but meticulously clean, the neighborhood is safe and pleasant, and you can't beat the location if you want to be close to the capital, as we did. But the best thing is Jen and Adam. We will certainly return when next we go to DC.
