The Space

The house is very nice, clean, recently renovated with a separate guesthouse and bathroom (see pictures). Jacuzzi and gas grill. Beautiful view from the house to glacier Langjökull and its surroundings.

The house easily accommodates 6 persons, in two double rooms and two bunk bed rooms, for more than 6 persons you would need our approval as well as we have another cabin just next to this one that we can rent as well.

Key delivery is at site - we have installed key boxes with an access code that is supplied with the cabin manual.

We have two houses available - so we can accommodate up to 12 persons at a time.

If you need two houses or your requested dates are not available our other house can be found under: "South coast sightseeing - cabin 2" here on airbnb.com https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/500133

  • This cabin was absolutely perfect and wonderful as a 5 day stop during my honeymoon. Ingimar was super easy to communicate with, had thought of every possible thing we could need, and the bed was very comfortable. The true highlight of the cabin was the hot tub. The kitchen was a good size for preparing some of our own meals, and the area around the cabin is extremely quiet and serene, while only being a short drive from many fantastic sites. I will definitely be back!!!

  • This house is definitely the best AirBnB accommodation we have stayed in. It is better than it looks on the website. The main house and the guest house were immaculately arranged for us. There were many things already in the kitchen to get us started. Everything was simple to use. You can't get enough of the views from the deck. On a clear day you can see as far as the Langjokull glacier. The house is very close (within 30 mins) to all the main attractions on the golden circle. I will definitely return here some day to see more of Iceland. I highly recommend this place for guests of all ages. We had 2 kids in our group and they enjoyed all the toys that Ingimar had left in the house.

  • This was such a a great cabin! Our host was timely and gave great instructions for how the operate things in the house as well as excellent directions on how to get there! Everything was neat and clean and the place was very warm and cozy. It was in a good location with a pretty view and we all really enjoyed our stay :)

  • These Cabins will undoubtably be one of the best accommodations in Iceland. We Stayed in Ingimar's Cabin for one week and we had one of the best experiences. The view is absolutely incredible, especially at sunset. The cabin has everything you need, even a hot tub outside! If you are visiting Iceland these cabins provide an excellent location for all sites and day trips.

    Thanks Ingimar!

  • This comfortable cottage is located in the quite countryside where there are panoramic, breathtaking views of the Icelandic landscape.

Occasionally, you will be delighted by the sight of a lone horseman trotting along the gravel cinder road against the backdrop of distant mountains.

Exploring the famous Golden Circle and black beaches are easy day trips from the cottage; but don't get in a hurry, there is much to see between these well-known locations if you go off the tourist trail.

What's also important in accommodations? Comfortable beds, hot showers, and ample space for relaxing. The cottage had this and more!

Of special note Ingimar was very kind in getting a soft mattress topper for one of the beds. I (Ed) have a bad hip and I need a much softer bed. He did this at very short notice and it was much appreciated.

He also stocked the refrigerator so that we would have enough of the food basics..........coffee, sugar, cream, bread, jam and eggs to get us started. The only other thing we would have wished for was a microwave oven and a kitchen apron (both requested by my wife). All in (email hidden) and excellent hosts.

  • I would highly recommend Ingimar's cabin for a stay outside of the city. The setting is grand, with a panoramic view of the wide plains surrounded by some majestic peaks. The cabin itself is very cosy and clean, and has all of the basic things you might need for cooking and relaxing. The accommodations are comfortable, and the hot tub is great on a chilly evening.

The cabin is well situated for making trips to Geysir and Gulfoss as mentioned, and is also good as a point of departure to get to the national parks. A 4x4 vehicle will handle the gravel roads much better to these destinations as they can be very bumpy and snowy in the winter. The gravel road to get to the cabin is not so long, and if traveling along the main south coast road a 2 wheel drive car would do.

Ingimar communicated very quickly and clearly about the reservation... altogether it was a very good experience. Would stay again on another visit. Thanks!

  • Ingimar's place was perfect for Golden Circle sightseeing. It had plenty of room, well stocked and clean. We loved the hot tub and the large deck around the cabin. We were there in winter and we saw the Northern Lights. It would also be a great summer cabin.

  • We had a wonderful time in Ingimar's cabin!!! We stayed for four nights, the cabin had everything we needed - the hot tub was very easy to use, plenty of space and a beautiful view of the mountains. We also saw the Northern Lights perfectly on one night (from the hot tub, no less), made four daily trips to the waterfalls (Gulfoss, Skogafoss, etc.), geysirs (Sokkur), Blue Lagoon (hot spring) and Pingvellir (rift between the two continents) and the ocean. The cabin was perfectly located for these sightseeing trips! We rented a four-wheel drive Jeep which was very helpful for the gravel roads, and for easier access to some of the sights. Also, Fludir (the town nearby) has a small convenience store and there's WIFI at the Icelandair Hotel which you can use for free.
Before we arrived, Ingimar gave us a perfect description of how to get to the cabin (very detailed and thought-through), how to use the gadgets at the cabin. We felt very much at home and didn't worry about anything! Thanks for that, Ingimar! We would definitely recommend this wonderful cabin to other travelers - it was a perfect experience for us!

  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin, Ingimar was available and very helpful for our stay. We stayed for 3 nights in January 2013. This place is central and ideal for activities in the South. We also had the privilege of watching Northern Lights no further than on the front deck. The view was breathtaking and inspiring since it has a large vista from West to East. The mountain view at sunrise is immaculate. The cabin is clean, efficient and cozy. You must consider staying at this cabin, I know I will come back next time around. Mathieu and Marilyn from Montreal (Canada)
