Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
The cottage sits in the midst of abundant Open Space, hiking and biking trails, creeks, ponds, and wildlife. It is the perfect place for outdoor lovers, writers and artists, within walking/biking distance to Roy's Redwoods Preserve, Samuel P. Taylor State Park and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Visit great local restaurants, live music, coffee shops and delis. Only 40 minutes to sun and surf in Stinson, Bolinas, Pt. Reyes beaches, and 10 minutes to Fairfax for live music and great eateries.

The space
Welcome to Creamery Cottage, our little house under the oaks.
We are happy you've chosen us as your vacation or work away spot.
Park directly in front of the cottage, and up a short flight of stairs,
and get ready to relax.
We are situated on a rural road, with a few other homes nearby. It can be extremely quiet, or sometimes peppered with the sounds of wildlife ~ Pileated Woodpeckers, lonely hawks, or coyotes calling to one another late at night.
It's lovely to listen to the Great Horned Owl couple calling to one another, and in the wintertime, to sit and enjoy the small fire pit under the stars, maybe catching a glimpse of the local deer wandering up the road.
The house is thoughtfully designed, with a lovely flow inside and out, creating an ideal space for writers, readers, artists, dreamers, meditation...
Outdoor adventure enthusiasts, nature lovers, and explorers will love our location too. We are close to loads of mountain bike trails, Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Roy's Redwoods Preserve, and of course, the beautiful coastline of West Marin with its quaint towns and great shops, restaurants, and bars, live music, and, the gorgeous beaches which should not be missed! Come out and see the incredible bioluminescence by kayak in Tomales Bay, August through November! It is magical!

Please note: the cottage does not have a dresser or a closet in which to hang your clothes! We have supplied you with many hooks, and hangers on hooks, as well as a lovely luggage rack upstairs.

Guest access
We would love to have you visit the backyard area with our lovely double swing, as well as the front deck with its' small table and comfortable chairs ~ and our sweet fire pit for chilly (winter only) nights under the stars.

Other things to note
This is a quiet, rural road with other homes nearby, so if you are looking to let loose or have a large gathering, please choose a different space to book.
If you need a flexible check in or check out time, please let us know in advance, and if we can, we will work it out to suit your needs.
There is no access to laundry on site but there are two nice launderettes in nearby Fairfax.
Please do not park in the driveway. There is a parking spot for you directly in front of the curvy steps up to the cottage.

Neighborhood highlights

San Geronimo has a wonderful park just down Meadow Way, east of Creamery Road. It's a lovely 5 minute walk or bike ride down Meadow to one of the entrances to the park, and as it winds around, it has a passageway to the northern side of the park, which makes for a nice long walk. There are beautiful ponds and lovely bird watching spots. Roy's Redwoods Preserve can be reached easily this way as well. There is also the wonderful Giaco's Valley Roadhouse, with great food, drinks, and live music, within a 5 minute walk from Creamery Cottage, and Spirit Rock Meditation Center is just down the road on Sir Frances Drake, and the Woodacre Deli is down San Geronimo Valley Drive.
