It is open 6 days a week as a historic market that hosts a baker, a fishmonger, a butcher, a florist, a grocer among other shops, but on the weekends, it hosts an outdoor farmers market, a huge flea market, and an artist's market - an amazing place to explore, people watch, and venue to discover great finds, great foods, and great non-traditional souvenirs and gifts. • This a wonderful place to stay. Two bedrooms and two baths. Lotsa room. Close to the subway and good places to eat close by. A must stay place for Washington, D.C.

  • I can't say enough about our stay. The apt is adorable, warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the location, close to Harris Teeter, wonderful restaurants and the Metro. Thank you for your information notebook, it was quite helpful. I'm going to recommend this apt to my friends that visit DC. Thank you Crystal for making my Granddaughters 13th Birthday celebration in DC so special.

  • The apartment was great. My wife and I stayed with our four kids. There was plenty of room...and it was especially nice to have two bathrooms. The apartment was very clean and it is conveniently located to the Metro and easy walk to restaurants and stores. Crystal was helpful and responsive. I would definitely recommend the apartment.

  • Our stay at Crystal's home was amazing! We were close to restaurants, stores and just a short drive to all the major attractions. Crystal left us with 5 Metro passes in case we didn't want to deal w/ the parking. When we arrived, there was water, Coke and snacks for us to enjoy. We didn't have to get coffee in the morning because there was coffee & creamer! She left us some detergent so we could do a bit of laundry, there were plenty of towels for the 5 of us. Our 3 girls loved their room which included a fold out cot. It was great to have a place to call home that had the amenities hotels don't ~ a kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer, patio... Plus parking was not an issue. We had friends who stayed at the Marriott and parking alone was $49 a day!! The check-in process was super easy. We would highly recommend this place for anyone who is planning on visiting Washington DC. Thank you Crystal & family :))

  • Crystal is amazing and so is this place! We traveled with three little kids and we had plenty of space. It was nice to be close to the metro and a playground.

  • We just got back from our family vacation in Washington DC. Crystal's apartment was lovely, and had plenty of room for our family of five. The Metro was just a block down and was an easy ride to all the sights, and there was a grocery store just around the corner. We rented a car, but only used it the day we went out to the Smithsonian hanger at Dullas Airport. There was an unexpected snow storm the day after we arrived. The entire city was shut down, but Crystal was great, giving us ideas for things we could do anyway, and offering to loan us DVDs. She was also good with advice for nearby restaurants and touring ideas. We will defiantly stay here again when we return!

  • My friends and I needed a place to stay while we were visiting D.C. and this was a perfect fit- the apartment is spacious and fit the four of us nicely. The location was ideal too- away from the really busy areas of downtown D.C., but close enough to walk to the Capitol and Eastern Market. The apartment was well equipped- we had fun staying in and making dinner with ingredients we brought back from Eastern Market. And Crystal and her family were great about giving us local recommendations- the Ethiopian place they suggested was delicious.

  • My friend and I had a mother daughter weekend here in February with our 4 kids (2 daughters each). The apartment was beautifully decorated, comfortable and perfectly appointed for 2 families to have fun together, but also have a bit of separate space. We each had a bedroom and bathroom to ourselves. The 2 youngest girls slept on the comfortable fold out sofa. The kitchen was great for making breakfast and dinner each day. The owner was so thoughtful -- leaving us with lots of starter snacks and beverages, maps, metro cards, guidebooks, etc. The apartment is just a few easy blocks from the metro station. When we come back to DC, we will stay here for sure!

  • Wow! just about sums it up, but for those of you who'd like the specifics, read on.

    Clean, in every detail.

Conveniently located, with metro and bus stops and a well stocked grocery store with in a block or two. Walking distance to many Capitol Hill locations as well, in good weather.

Comfortable. A queen Tempurpedic bed in one bedroom and a comfortable double in the other. My daughter (the princess of Princess and the Pea fame) slept on the very clever sofa bed in the living room and proclaimed it as comfortable as a regular bed.(Imagine!) The fact that there were two bedrooms, and that the, ahem, snoratorium was at a distance from the other two sleeping areas worked well for us. So did having two bathrooms.

Well stocked. You could cook an actual meal here! (We didn't have time to on this trip, but it's nice to know for future reference.) Also, we got to the apartment in the wee, small hours of the morning, after two days of living in the same clothes and with no known sightings of our bags. We almost hugged the washer and dryer. We actually thought we were going to have to wear those same jeans to our son's wedding, only a few hours later, so at least they were going to be clean! (The bags came an hour before the wedding, saving us from living forever in infamy in the wedding pictures.) There was also body wash and shampoo in the showers and actual tooth paste to use with our tiny little airline oops, we lost your bags toothbrushes. There was coffee, juice, yogurt, milk, and other food and snacks that also saved us that first morning. There was even enough room for us to host a brunch for the newlyweds the morning we left, with all five of us sitting at the table together!

The Notebook: any question you have about Washington, navigating around it, or anything else is answered here! A lot of work went into this!

Now for the fun: this place is so cute! I first saw it last fall while I was on a charity renovator's tour with my son and daughter-in-law, and it was love at first sight! When I knew we would be coming back for the wedding, I searched airbnb until I found it. What imagination went into this place, yet always with the goal of comfort first.

I'm saving the best for last - Crystal! I felt as if we were old friends by the time we got there. I had to email her so many times because of our constantly changing plans. (We were rescheduled and cancelled on 8 or 9 flights over the course of three days.) Crystal always answered me very quickly, and was so sweet. Sadly, I never got to meet her in person over our hectic few days, but I will next time. This will definitely be our destination of choice on all our succeeding Washington trips.
