Additionally, it is located in walking distance to The Yards Park and the National's Stadium. The Smithsonian and the most of the DC monuments are within 4-6 metro stops on the same metro line (blue and orange).
This is a separate 2BR, 2BA sunny English garden apartment in our home with its own private front patio. Inviting, serene, renovated and spacious with all the amenities that you need for your stay: fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TV with Direct TV and DVD in the living room, washer and dryer, and separate dining area. The apartment features a front bedroom that has a full size bed and a back bedroom that hosts a queen size bed, bamboo floors, tasteful decor, upscale linens, and a festive, inviting, shared outdoor space. We are only 1 block away from Capitol Bike Share - it's a fun and easy way to get around DC - and available for daily rentals at $7 a day. Very popular with locals and tourists alike. We also have multiple zip cars with in a 1-2 block radius. The Yards Park is a great place to play and picnic and is not well known among tourists. It hosts weekly outdoor movies (on Thursdays) in the summer and weekly (on Fridays) live music events from May - August. Eastern Market, 6 blocks away - an easy walk, is a famous institution. It is open 6 days a week as a historic market that hosts a baker, a fishmonger, a butcher, a florist, a grocer among other shops, but on the weekends, it hosts an outdoor farmers market, a huge flea market, and an artist's market - an amazing place to explore, people watch, and venue to discover great finds, great foods, and great non-traditional souvenirs and gifts. We are also within biking, jogging, metro, or walking distance from the award winning Results Gym, Capitol Hill that is in a converted historic school. If you want to keep your workout routine while on vacation or on an extended stay, access can be arranged at cost. Each day visit there is $15. The gym has multiple classes, award winning locker rooms with dry and wet sauna and jacuzzi, a rock-climbing wall, extensive free weights and machines, and basket ball and racket ball courts.
Our family of 4 lives in the unit above and though well insulated, some noise is audible between floors (not voices or music but heavy footsteps). Metro access is so easy, Regan International Airport - a fast cab ride or metro ride away. We can arrange off-street parking. We are perfectly located for a unique and fun visit to our nation's capital!
Please note that the lack of reviews is due to the fact that many of our guests stay for extended periods - up to 2 months and through other venues. We are exactly as pictured, one block to 2 metro lines, and well located on Capitol Hill.
We assume our guest are courteous. We do, however, collect a $150 security deposit that is promptly returned via Air BNB after your visit is complete. No smoking inside the apartment.
This was a great place to stay on our visit to Washington. It is in an excellent location close to the subway and buses. The whole apartment was super clean and little touches (such as leaving a few snacks and drinks for us to enjoy) were really welcome. The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms well equipped. Crystal and her family were so welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Washington.
We had a great experience at our stay. Crystal was very accommodating and went the extra mile to provide us with snacks, metro cards, and a binder of things to do in the surrounding area. Parking was ample-- Crystal provided us with a parking permit to park on the streets within 1/2 block radius. Don't make the mistake we did... We accidentally took the permit with us!!! We would definitely stay again.
It was nice having the bedrooms on the opposite ends with the bathrooms right outside. Although the pictures present a cozy place, the space is even more cozier in person. Enjoy your stay!
Overall very good experience in the apartment. The kitchen was well laid out for cooking and TV had HDMI for connecting to our laptop. Internet worked great. Convenient location. They helped us get a parking pass for the neighborhood - very helpful. Overall we had a great time. Extremely clean place and quiet neighborhood.
Crystal was a wonderful host. The apartment was comfortable and very well appointed. It was large enough for a family of 4 with 2 adult children. Our son slept on an ingenious pull out trundle couch that was far more comfortable than any sleeper sofa. We cooked dinner in the well stocked kitchen and ate at the table which we later converted into a great spot for cards and games.
The neighborhood is in the process of gentrification making it a "real" neighborhood. We easily walked to the grocery store and metro. There are many restaurants within a 6 to 8 block radius. The location was very easy for sightseeing as well as shopping with easy access to 295 and 395.
Crystal was also very helpful with a few items we left behind. We would definitely stay there again and hope to soon.
We loved this place. The location was handy, the apartment beautifully maintained with everything we needed, Crystal was extremely helpful and provided lots of local insights . Highly recommended .
The apartment was exactly as described. Very cute and homey. Crystal is a great host, providing lots of extra special touches. The location is very convenient and perfect for sightseeing. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again!
The place is perfect and Crystal was very helpful. The neighborhood is very pleasant and the house is a short walk to Eastern Market and 8th St where there are many great restaurants. A great place to stay in D.C.
