(Not shared space) Full use of a private and separate 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom fully furnished and equipped apartment just one block from the blue and orange line metro and grocery store and within a quick 6 block walk (approx 10 minute walk) to Eastern Market, award winning restaurants, bars, and parks. The apartment is a 2 metro stop or a leisurely 15-20 minute walk to the US Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, and the National Botanical Gardens. Additionally, it is located in walking distance to The Yards Park and the National's Stadium. The Smithsonian and the most of the DC monuments are within 4-6 metro stops on the same metro line (blue and orange).
This is a separate 2BR, 2BA sunny English garden apartment in our home with its own private front patio. Inviting, serene, renovated and spacious with all the amenities that you need for your stay: fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TV with Direct TV and DVD in the living room, washer and dryer, and separate dining area. The apartment features a front bedroom that has a full size bed and a back bedroom that hosts a queen size bed, bamboo floors, tasteful decor, upscale linens, and a festive, inviting, shared outdoor space. The layout is such that the bedrooms and baths are located on opposite sides of the living space to maximize privacy for guests. A portable twin bed is available upon request.
We are only 1 block away from Capitol Bike Share - it's a fun and easy way to get around DC - and available for daily rentals at $7 a day. Very popular with locals and tourists alike. We also have multiple zip cars with in a 1-2 block radius. The Yards Park is a great place to play and picnic and is not well known among tourists. It hosts weekly outdoor movies (on Thursdays) in the summer and weekly (on Fridays) live music events from May - August. Eastern Market, 6 blocks away - an easy walk, is a famous institution. It is open 6 days a week as a historic market that hosts a baker, a fishmonger, a butcher, a florist, a grocer among other shops, but on the weekends, it hosts an outdoor farmers market, a huge flea market, and an artist's market - an amazing place to explore, people watch, and venue to discover great finds, great foods, and great non-traditional souvenirs and gifts. We are also within biking, jogging, metro, or walking distance from the award winning Results Gym, Capitol Hill that is in a converted historic school. If you want to keep your workout routine while on vacation or on an extended stay, access can be arranged at cost. Each day visit there is $15. The gym has multiple classes, award winning locker rooms with dry and wet sauna and jacuzzi, a rock-climbing wall, extensive free weights and machines, and basket ball and racket ball courts.
Our family of 4 lives in the unit above and though well insulated, some noise is audible between floors (not voices or music but heavy footsteps). Metro access is so easy, Regan International Airport - a fast cab ride or metro ride away. We can arrange off-street parking. We are perfectly located for a unique and fun visit to our nation's capital!
Please note that the lack of reviews is due to the fact that many of our guests stay for extended periods - up to 2 months and through other venues. We are exactly as pictured, one block to 2 metro lines, and well located on Capitol Hill.
We assume our guest are courteous. We do, however, collect a $150 security deposit that is promptly returned via Air BNB after your visit is complete. No smoking inside the apartment.
With 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and given its proximity to the sites the unit is a great value. The unit was clean and well appointed. The living area is quite small but the bedrooms are nice size and the bed in the back bedroom is very comfortable, we didn't test the front bed. Neither bedroom has a TV. Crystal was a wonderful hostess and left a lot of useful information in a binder. All the eateries she recommended were as good as or better than described, especially Lavagna on 8th St. The neighborhood is having a revival and shopping, food and drinks are all within walking distance. On the downside it was a bit noisy at times, we woke to jackhammers before 8:00 one morning, and we were not comfortable walking around at night. It took a day for our Suburban sensibilities to adjust to the neighborhood but, thanks to Uber (a must!) and available food deliveries, it was not an issue after day one.
Merci pour cet appartement très
propre et proche du métro et avec
un super marché à 5 minutes, tout était
parfait malgré l'absence de Crystal.
We had a great time in Washington and the apartment was one of the reasons. It is well located and allows a walk to the Capitol, but you can go easily by rental bike, bus or metro as well. A 10 min walk brings you to the river which is great for a run in the morning.
The Apartment has everything you need and it is nicely funrnished. It felt like home - nothing more to say.
Although we hadn't the chance to meet Crystal personally, she arranged everything perfectly and ensured a pleaseant stay.
Yes, we definitely will stay there again when we are in Washington the next time.
This is the perfect flat to visit the sights of Washington from. Our family of 4 from England stayed here for 5 lovely days. I can see why Crystal has earned the status of super-host, she certainly is. There was everything we needed in the flat and some welcome snacks and drinks. She helped us with passes for the metro, printing out tickets for onward travel and the folder of local information she has provided was perfect. You could hear Crystal's family moving around upstairs sometimes, but it was not problem at all. I would not hesitate to stay here again and strongly recommend it. Thank you for everything Crystal.
It was a wonderful surprise that it was nicer than the pictures showed it to be. A wonderful relaxing place to stop for a breath. The metro is indeed very close, a block away. A close walk is a street with so many different restaraunts it is hard to choose. You honestly feel like you are coming home at the end of the day. When you first walk in there are a few snacks awaiting you. There is a book full of things to do, and if you have a question Crystal will always answer it. I look forward to planning another visit, and will stay here every time.
Very welcoming host
Well kept up apartment with lots of amenities - laundry, snacks, cleaning supplies, metro smart card, info binder.
Close to metro, and all major sites and grocery store.
We were very happy with our stay at Crystal's place. You basically get a 2 bdrm, 2 bath apartment for the cost of a hotel room. The place was very clean with a kitchen well stocked with utensils. There is some very minor noise from upstairs but less than what you get in most hotels with very little City street noise. The market is a block away and a Metro (subway stop) about 2 blocks. Non peak Uber rides to any of the monuments or museums were under $15. Using the Metro is easy to pick up and the Crystal provides some Metro cards that you can add money on. We would stay here again and not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.

The Crittenden Family consists of: Jon, a mechanical engineer who likes baseball (NY Mets were his first Love) and triathlons; Crystal, sales consultant and DC enthusiast; Josephine and Danielle (8 and 9), sisters and best friends. We are a fun and respectful family, and love meeting new people!
