Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Nestled in a rural recreational community in the Wenatchee Mountains, just north of Blewett Pass and 20 minutes from Leavenworth, our dog-friendly a-frame cabin is the perfect base for retreating from city life. Moonwood Cabin offers guests a space to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature all year round. World class hiking is minutes away - the nearest trailhead, Ingalls Creek, is 1.5 miles from the cabin.

The space
Our cozy, rustic 1969 dog-friendly a-frame cabin sits in a rural neighborhood with plenty of parking and outdoor seating areas in the warmer months. This 900 sq ft cabin sleeps four people, with one queen bed in the downstairs bedroom and one queen bed in the open loft area. The cabin has the original 1960s kitchen, complete with retro coppertone fixtures/appliances and mid-century globe lighting. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, and dishware—ready for you to cook! On the main floor, there is a bathroom with a shower.

At the back of the cabin, there is a large enclosed deck. Perfect for you and your dog to hang out together! In the warmer months, there is comfortable seating for lounging and relaxing, a dining table and chairs, and also a Weber gas BBQ grill. There is also a nice size deck on the front of the cabin with lounge chairs in the summer (and heat mats to melt a pathway in the winter!)

If you need to work while you're staying at the cabin, we have great WiFi for working remotely/video calls. There is a desk in the upstairs loft.

Other amenities include washer/dryer, Smart TV, and an Xbox One X you are welcome to use if you have an Xbox Game Pass or bring your own games (we have two controllers). Bed linens and towels are provided.

Our cabin is located in a rural vacation home community, with a mix of part-time and full-time residents. We have neighbors all around us, but our cabin still offers privacy. Find out more about the neighborhood by reading the Location section down below. We regularly see wildlife—mostly the wild turkeys that hang around in the community!

Please note there is limited cell phone coverage in the neighborhood. We have a security system with cameras around the outside of the cabin.

We are dog-friendly (no other pets allowed). Please tell us if you are bringing your dog. Maximum two dogs.

Kid-friendly for ages 8 and older due to the steep ladder staircase to the loft bedroom. Feel free to send a pre-booking request for any exceptions, but please note that the cabin has not been child-proofed.

By booking with us you waive all liability for personal injury and property loss. There are small hazards like a steep staircase to the loft bedroom which is why we caution against young children. Please exercise caution at any age. There are absolutely no parties allowed, and no smoking/vaping in the cabin. This is our home--treat it with respect and you’ll have a wonderful stay!

In the winter months, the neighborhood is a plowed county road. The flat dirt driveway is plowed after major snowfall, however, all-wheel or a 4WD vehicle is HIGHLY recommended. Parking is prohibited on the neighborhood roads. For mountain pass info, visit the WSDOT website. Allow extra time for adverse road conditions. We cannot provide last-minute refunds due to the weather. Please consider trip insurance if you think you might need to cancel last minute.

Commercial film and photography are not permitted on the premises without written permission.

Neighborhood highlights

What we like best about our cabin is the location. This is not a fancy resort community, but a rural recreational neighborhood in an area with a rich history of logging and mining. The charm of this part of Peshastin is being away from the glossiness of new builds and staying in a piece of history, all the while enjoying the wildlife, the natural beauty of the Wenatchee Mountains, and the recreational opportunities. Within the community, you have access to Peshastin Creek, a swimming pond in the summer months, and a community playing field. The nearest hiking trail, Ingalls Creek, is only 1.5 miles away. Located just half a mile away is 97 Rock House—your nearest spot for freshly roasted coffee, regional beers and wine, sandwiches, and ice cream.

During your stay at Moonwood Cabin, you can be hiking world-class trails, sipping Syrah at one of the award-winning wineries, hitting the ski slopes, antiquing in nearby Cashmere, or wandering through the charming Front Street in downtown Leavenworth - all within a 20 minute drive.

Nearby outdoor pursuits include hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, cycling, fishing, rafting, rock climbing, and more. This is a great spot for those who want to explore the Alpine Lakes Wilderness!

Please note – the use of snowmobiles is prohibited in our community.
