Nice apartment Self Catering in the countryside, typical of Puglia, 5 beds, 60 sqm, furnished (rustic style), and equipped. Living room with sofa, kitchen, 4 burner stove and oven, fridge with freezer and large dining table. The living room overlook 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and sofa bed, the second with two single beds. Spacious bathroom with shower and washing machine. The apartment is on the ground floor in vintage 800s villa. The house is surrounded by two small natural woods, cherry, almond and olive trees. Outside in the large courtyard with an ancient wood-burning oven and barbecue you can spend pleasant summer evenings.
Peaceful, but well served. A few steps away the small farming village, with the square of the church, bar, post office and market. Nearby horse riding. The apartment is located in a hilly area, in the Madonna del Rosario, one of the most beautiful localities of Monopoli and it is few miles from the sea( 10 (website hidden) car) and about 45 km from the airport of Bari Palese. Thanks to its central location you can easily reach the towns of Alberobello and its trulli, Conversano with its beatiful castle, the caves of Castellana, Polignano a Mare and, of course, the beautiful old town and picturesque sandy beaches and coves of Monopoli,2013 Blue Flag beaches.

That Frankie and I will be returning next June - and taking the lovely 2 person apartment next door for younger family members probably says all that needs to be said: we loved the apartment, the location and Puglia in general.
Hosts Nunzia and Nino were wonderfully hospitable, kind and helpful, not least in recommending restaurants and particularly 'Il Guazzetto' in Monopoli, where I had probably the best fish meal of my long life! It's worth saying that you need to follow the signs to 'Porto', park in the big car park down by the harbour and walk back a few paces to the first corner and follow the signs to the ristorante. Note: the locals don't really start taking tables until 9.00, so doing bother booking, arrive before 9 and eat when the place has developed 'atmosphere'!
On driving in Monopoli: it's vital to note that, despite there being no signage, the rule within the city itself is that traffic from the right has priority: so you're cruising merrily along what is clearly a major road and a car, or old geezer on a Vespa can shoot out from a side road on the right, because that is his right! So slow or stop at every junction and look right! The same applies in Bari, apparently.
Don't be put off, just beware, as Monopoli is great and inexpensive.
So, if you want a terrific holiday, stay at Nunzia's: but don't tell too many people, as there aren't hordes of tourists spoiling the area as yet!
Fantastic place and a great value. Nunzia and her husband are very nice and helpful, and speak English well. The apartment is located in their beautiful family estate home and is plenty big for 2 couples or a family of 4. Located just 3 miles from Monopoli. There is a little market and butchery a couple hundred yards away. Highly recommended.
We had a great time in Monopoli! The flat is perfectly located with easy reach to lovely beaches and interesting sites and a great little village within walking distance. Even though the weather was hot, the apartment was cool and we felt like coming home to our oasis after a hot day on the beach or the road.
Nunzia was a lovely hostess that made us feel like staying with a friend.
I can highly recommend this place.
