Andrea made us feel completely welcome. She was quick to respond to text messages/emails. The apartment matched the description and photos very well. The neighborhood is very centrally located, and it's location is it's greatest virtue: you can get almost everything you need within easy walking distance. We were there for seven weeks and got to know the neighborhood a bit. Andrea's recommendations were very useful. The SAQ (provincial liquor store) at the corner of Pine & St-Laurent has a good wine collection; the 4 Frères across Saint-Laurent has a nice beer selection; for an unusual but generally positive and very inexpensive food shopping experience try Segal's Market up Saint-Laurent just past Schwartz's (but note they are cash only); for a very pleasant outing, walk up the mountain to the Chalet; for a great healthy meal, try Lola Rosa Café over on Milton; if you're going to be there long enough, you can join the McGill gym and use their fitness center. To get to the closest Metro (Sherbrooke), it is a pleasant walk down Prince Arthur and through the Square Saint-Louis park, then across Saint-Denis. There are almost too many interesting restaurants and cafés right in the neighborhood or not far away, the location is really amazing. I would say that everything about the place is excellent, with three very minor issues: because of the central location, there is sometimes noise at night as people leave the neighborhood bars; the view from the apartment itself is not wonderful (being primarily of a large dumpy building across the street), but there is a nice view from the roof terrace; while there are bus lines very close, the closest Metro is about 11-12 minutes away on foot.
Great appartment. Just as shown in the pictures. Well kept. Clean. Good location, about 15-20 min walk to downtown, however plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate area.
Nice host, maps and guides provided.
Convenient parking, yes the spot is a bit difficult to get into, but hey at least you've got a free parking space in Montreal! Andrea helped the first time and we managed ourselves afterwards.
Would stay again.
Andrea and Michael were great! The apartment is really nice and clean and in a perfect part of Montreal to dine and drink. Would definitely go back!
When my girlfriend and I first arrived, Andrea's husband Thomas was there to welcome us and let us in. He showed us where the underground parking garage was and then gave us a tour of the apartment. We had a couple questions about the area which he was happy to answer and he double checked to make sure that we had everything we needed. He made himself and Andrea available to call if we needed anything. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was very comfortable. We had plenty of privacy which was also nice. We had everything we needed and it was a great first experience using Airbnb.
